Chapter 609: The Spatial Plan
Chapter 609: The Spatial Plan
Su Yu didn’t care about his personal gains or losses. His only thought was to defeat the Skrull aliens.
By helping Aijie create a clone, she would be able to visit the real world more frequently. Aijie could unleash peak Seventh-Stage combat power, second only to Chancellor Cao. Her assistance to humanity was immeasurable, so why would Su Yu refuse her?
"Once we return to your world, I'll create a clone for you!" Su Yu responded immediately.
"Okay, thank you!" Aijie nodded happily.
The group continued on their way without further discussion.
Three minutes later, the elevator brought them to the third sub-basement of the building. The ventilation was excellent, and even at this depth, it didn’t feel stuffy.
Xue Wenli led them through a series of twists and turns, passing through three security checkpoints using fingerprint or facial recognition. They finally entered a vast underground space.
This underground area spanned at least 20,000 square feet and was about 30 feet high. Despite its size, the space was mostly empty, containing only some essential machinery and a few chairs. There were also 100 high-level mage players waiting.
These mage players had been growing increasingly impatient. They had signed confidentiality agreements and arrived in this underground space over an hour ago, only to wait in vain.
Their time was precious, and they didn’t want to waste it.
Just then, the large door to the underground space opened, and Xue Wenli led Su Yu and the others inside. All eyes immediately turned to Su Yu and his group.
Upon recognizing Su Yu, the mage players’ impatience vanished, replaced by immense excitement:
"Is that General Ke?"
"The United Government gathered so many of us here for General Ke!"
"If I had known General Ke would be here, I wouldn’t have minded waiting any longer! Why are there two General Kes?"
The more observant among them noticed that there were two "General Kes" standing at the front and back of the group.
Is this a case of the real and the fake Monkey King?
Su Yu’s original form entered the room and waved his hand to calm the excited crowd. "Hello everyone, I’m Su Yu. No need for introductions, right?"
"Of course not," the crowd laughed.
Su Yu turned and introduced the others one by one. "This is Tina Garcia, this is Aijie Jinjuhua, this is Xue Wenli, the deputy of Zhong Feng, and this is my clone."
Then he turned to the 100 mage players. "Your time is valuable, so I won’t beat around the bush."
"Hey, what about me?" Chenxing, perched on Su Yu’s shoulder, protested.
"Oh, and this is my pet, Chenxing." Su Yu petted Chenxing’s cat head and addressed the entire room. "I’ll get straight to the point. We have a very important plan, and it’s called the ‘Spatial Plan.’”
"The ‘Spatial Plan’?" Many in the room voiced their surprise.
"Exactly," Su Yu nodded. "If you accept this plan, you’ll be spending the next six months in this basement.
Of course, this won’t affect your online activities in the game. However, offline, you’ll need to stay in this basement to work on the plan. You might not be able to leave until the final battle."
"Is that so?" The 100 mage players exchanged glances, with some still uncertain.
The military players were more compliant, as their primary duty was to follow orders. Since their superiors had assigned them to this place, they were determined to stay and obey their commands.
However, the civilian players had different concerns.
They had families and friends waiting for them in the outside world, and as the final battle loomed, society was becoming increasingly unstable. They feared that their loved ones might be harmed in the chaos.
One of the civilian players, a woman with the ID "Cloud Robe," timidly spoke up, "Commander Ke, could you tell us what this plan is all about?"
"Absolutely not," Su Yu quickly replied. "This is a critical mission that could determine the outcome of our war against the Skrulls. Those who choose to stay must follow my orders and not question their tasks or the details of the plan.
As I mentioned earlier, this plan will continue until the final battle begins, so I'm giving you ten minutes to consider. If you wish to leave, now is the time."
"This..."
Many players were torn.
Honestly, they were eager to join Su Yu and contribute to this important mission, but their fear of the future and concern for their loved ones in the real world made them hesitant.
Su Yu noticed their hesitation and understood their thoughts.
He smiled and said, "Don't worry, everyone. I guarantee that the families of all participants will be taken care of, right, Wenli?"
Su Yu turned to look at the woman beside him.
"Of course," Xue Wenli quickly assured them. "The relevant authorities can ensure the safety of your loved ones, at least until the final battle begins."
With Wenli's assurance, many players' doubts began to ease.
Su Yu continued, "I also guarantee that those who participate in this plan will receive a significant resource allocation.
As everyone knows, the best way to combat the Skrulls, besides increasing the number of high-level experts, is to form a large-scale magic corps.
Since you are all mages and have the organization's trust, you can become the core leadership of this magic corps and receive the most resources."
"Forming a magic corps" was an idea Su Yu had conceived long ago to combat the Skrulls.
A magic corps of ten thousand mages, each at least level four, could rival a divine-level expert on the battlefield! This was one of his primary goals for the coming period.
Hearing Su Yu's words, many of the mage players' eyes lit up.
Several of them quickly responded:
"Commander Ke, I'm willing to stay and join this plan!"
"Staying isn't a bad thing. As long as my family is safe, I can be anywhere!"
"Commander Ke, just tell us what to do!"
The players chosen by the authorities were reliable, and by this point, no one was considering leaving.
However, Su Yu still patiently waited the ten minutes he had promised.
After ten minutes, not a single player had left, and everyone expressed their willingness to participate in the plan.
Su Yu found a comfortable chair and sat down, gesturing for the other players to do the same.
But the players were too excited to sit down.
Su Yu took a few bottles of drinks from his necklace and threw them to the players, then smiled, "Now, let's start the first part of our plan—learning spatial magic."
