Chapter 605: A Solution
Chapter 605: A Solution
Having just flown in from Britain, the Anderson family spent the afternoon resting at their hotel. It wasn't until after dinner that they decided to visit the Eiffel Tower.
Herbert and Daisy had wanted to go up the tower during their last trip to France but were unable to for some reason. Now that they were back in the country, they felt they shouldn't miss the opportunity to experience the Eiffel Tower.
With the help of the hotel staff, the Andersons took a taxi to the Eiffel Tower.
Even in the evening, there were still many tourists around the tower.
Albert bought five tickets from the ticket counter, spending some francs, and then they all took the elevator together to the second level of the Eiffel Tower.
The night view of Paris, illuminated by twinkling lights, was truly breathtaking. Albert took out his camera to capture this memorable moment for everyone.
Albert handed the camera to Herbert and walked over to Isabelle, who was observing the night view of Paris through a pair of binoculars. Smiling, he asked, "How does it feel? Isn't the view here beautiful?"
"It's quite unique," Isabelle replied after a moment's thought, turning to look at Albert. "I've never had an experience like this before."
In some ways, Muggles who used "electricity" seemed more "advanced" than wizards.
That was probably the correct usage of the word.
Although Isabelle's home was on the outskirts of a Muggle village, her family had never used "electric lights."
Or, to be more accurate, the entire wizarding world still relied on old-fashioned oil lamps and candles. Hogwarts School was a prime example.
"You don't really like living in the wizarding world, do you?" Isabelle said softly, ensuring that only the two of them could hear.
"It's fine for a short while; the vintage style has its charm. But for the long term, I'd rather not," Albert replied candidly. "Don't worry, I've already found a solution a long time ago."
"A solution?" Isabelle repeated softly.
It wasn't until they returned to the hotel that Albert shared his so-called solution with Isabelle.
He planned to own a house in both the wizarding and Muggle worlds and then connect the two using a certain method.
Yes, with this, they could choose where to live and switch between the two worlds effortlessly.
All they would need to do was push a door, and their surroundings would change.
Isabelle stared at Albert for a long time before nodding in agreement to this seemingly absurd idea. The only issue left to resolve was that of the door.
Perhaps motivated by a desire to learn more about the Muggle world, Isabelle spent the time before bed bombarding Albert with questions about Muggles and diligently recording his answers in her notebook.
She hoped that the book she would write in the future would become the textbook for Muggle Studies at Hogwarts.
"I'm afraid your wish will have to wait several years to come true," Albert commented as he skimmed through the girl's notebook, finding it quite interesting.
"The Ministry?" Isabelle inquired.
She quickly understood Albert's implication—the Ministry of Magic was still dominated by pure-blood supremacists.
"Yes, I'd rather you not publish the book until the old regime is overthrown," Albert affirmed.
Putting the notebook back on the table, he changed the subject. "By the way, I'm curious. How many Hogwarts prefects have used that prefect bathroom?"
"Not many, I suppose," Isabelle replied, having never used the bathroom designated for prefects herself. "But I know some prefects who would sneak into the bathroom for dates."
"Dates? In the bathroom?" Albert asked, feigning surprise.
"Of course not," Isabelle said, giving Albert a once-over. "Your cheekiness knows no bounds."
Indeed, who would dare take such a risk? What if they were caught by another prefect?
"Perhaps something like the Room of Requirement would be more suitable," Albert mused, as if talking to himself. "It's so convenient. I'd love to create a similar room myself."
"No, don't even think about it while you're at school," Isabelle admonished.
"Okay, we're not at school now." Albert reached out and took the young girl's hand. "A rare opportunity like this won't come again."
Isabelle, as if seeing through Albert's thoughts, poked his chest and said, "At least wait until after you graduate."
"Men!" Isabelle shook her head in exasperation.
After Albert entered the bathroom, Isabelle couldn't help but sigh and continue studying her notes.
Before long, the young girl closed her notebook and turned on the TV, even though she couldn't understand French, it helped to distract her.
The night was peaceful, and the two chatted for a long while, eventually falling asleep side by side.
The next morning, Isabelle woke up groggily, staring at the unfamiliar ceiling and then turning her head to look at Albert, who breathed evenly, his face calm and peaceful, looking every bit the teenage boy he appeared to be.
Yet, this very boy had accomplished so many astonishing feats.
It was truly incredible.
Isabelle enjoyed these quiet moments, and she liked the current Albert; only during these times did he feel truly real to her.
The awake Albert was too mature, as if a grown wizard had taken a polyjuice potion to disguise himself as the boy.
Soon, the boy opened his eyes.
"Good morning," Albert blinked.
They had originally planned to visit Luxembourg Park, but Albert felt that there might not be much to see there in winter, so he suggested that the family enjoy some unique French cuisine at the hotel instead.
After all, he and Isabelle still had a wedding to attend in the afternoon, and they needed to conserve their energy and get ready for it.
Around two in the afternoon, a middle-aged man in a suit appeared at the hotel.
"Are you ready?" Hectork Dagworth asked with a smile.
"I didn't expect it would be you picking us up."
"The environment here is really nice; Muggles certainly know how to enjoy life better than us," Hectork nodded to Albert's family. "Shall we go now?"
"Then we'll be off," Albert said to his family.
"See you tonight," Daisy kissed Albert's cheek and hugged the red-haired girl beside him.
And with that, the Anderson family left the hotel room.
Albert and Isabelle each took one of Hectork's hands, and a crackling sound filled the room.
Fortunately, the room was well-soundproofed, and they didn't attract the attention of other hotel guests.
As for the rule about underage wizards not being allowed to use magic outside of school, prior notification was all that was needed to make an exception.
The three of them appeared in a secluded mansion on the outskirts of the city, where a large white tent had been set up, and many guests had already arrived.
A young man approached them and greeted Isabelle enthusiastically in French.
Beautiful girls always attracted attention wherever they went.
At that moment, an untimely voice sounded from behind the young man, "Adam, go and attend to the other guests. These are friends of my father."
Louise appeared behind the young man and placed her hand on his shoulder, indicating that he should go and entertain the other guests.
"His eyesight is rather poor," Albert commented with a smile.
"Long time no see. You haven't written to me in a long time, by the way," Louise said in broken English.
"I've been busy lately," Albert glanced at Isabelle nonchalantly and introduced her, "Isabelle, my girlfriend."
"This is..."
"This must be your pen pal, Miss Louise from France! It's nice to finally meet you in person," Isabelle said warmly, "and you're indeed a great beauty."
"Ahem, this is Hectork Dagworth," Albert coughed lightly and introduced him, making sure he didn't get overlooked.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Dagworth," Louise led them to a table inside the white tent, where several familiar faces were already seated.
