Fangy sprinted upward.
But the thick mist seemed to be moving as well.
The gauzy fog followed the airflow, trailing after Fangy's path as it ascended.
After nearly a minute of running without escaping the mist, Qiao Sang patted Fangy's back, signaling to stop.
Fangy understood her Beastmaster's intention, halting mid-air and warily observing the surroundings.
Qiao Sang, sitting on Fangy's back, was deep in thought.
Running to higher altitudes didn't work either. The Mist Shadow Yake didn't show up, so is Prepare trapping her here?
The Mist Shadow Yake is a General-Class Beast Companion, and it's lurking in the shadows...
Maybe it's best to have Fangy launch a large-scale attack to draw it out...
In a normal one-on-one battle, she might not win, but once Fangy uses the Mastery-Level Meteoric Fire Rain, the mist will surely dissipate. Without the fog's interference, she can summon Treasure Seeker. With Treasure Seeker, Fangy, and Lulu, she stands a chance against a wild General-Class Beast Companion...
The only problem is that this is the Wild Beast Habitat. If Fangy uses Meteoric Fire Rain, such a large-scale attack might involve other wild beast companions, drawing their enmity...
Just as she was thinking, Treasure Seeker suddenly appeared beside them.
Before it could speak, Fangy quickly retreated, creating distance. A striking flame suddenly flickered in the dense mist, beautiful and dazzling, aiming directly at Treasure Seeker.
As the Flame Vortex shot out, Qiao Sang's eyes widened in shock.

"Ya Ya!"
Fangy was startled.
Fortunately, Treasure Seeker's reaction was quick, and it teleported away from the Flame Vortex's attack.

After dodging, Treasure Seeker teleported back, looking at Fangy with an incredulous and hurt expression.

Fangy felt guilty and avoided eye contact.
"A fake Ghost Ring just came by, and Fangy thought you were fake too", Qiao Sang quickly explained.

Treasure Seeker's expression changed to one of understanding, and it sighed at Fangy as if disappointed.
Fangy is so stupid, it can't even tell the real from the fake.
"Ya Fangy"
Fangy wanted to argue but, recalling her earlier attack, found herself speechless.
"Alright", Qiao Sang ended the topic and said seriously, "The important thing now is to lure out the Mist Shadow Yake. Otherwise, we'll be trapped here forever."
She was about to instruct Fangy to use Meteoric Fire Rain.
"Xunxun~"
But at that moment, Treasure Seeker raised its left paw, calling out in a show of accomplishment.
Qiao Sang looked over and saw that Treasure Seeker's left paw was connected to a 3D Shadow Control, extending downward through the thick mist.
Qiao Sang: "!!"
"Is the other end of that connected to the Mist Shadow Yake?" Qiao Sang's face showed clear astonishment.
"Xunxun~"
Treasure Seeker nodded.
Impressive! Qiao Sang's eyes lit up. "How did you think to use the shadow to connect with it?"
"Xunxun~"
Treasure Seeker, seeing its Beastmaster's reaction, knew it had accomplished something significant. It called out, its tone and expression relaxed and confident, as if saying, "I just did it on a whim." It explained that the creature was at the end of the mist, and by pulling it, they wouldn't get lost.
Having a smart familiar is such a convenience... Qiao Sang was delighted but then asked, puzzled, "It just let you pull it with the shadow?"
"Xunxun~"
Treasure Seeker waved its claws, indicating that the creature was sleeping and didn't notice it.
Wait, sleeping? So, the mist was cast unconsciously? That doesn't seem right... Qiao Sang had a nagging feeling that something was off.
"Ganggang!"
At that moment, Steel Treasure, still in Qiao Sang's arms, called out very seriously.
Qiao Sang realized she was still holding Steel Treasure and quickly let go.
"Ganggang!"
Steel Treasure flapped its wings and flew to the side, repeating its earlier statement with a serious expression.
Qiao Sang fell silent for a moment, then asked hesitantly, "Are you saying there are two Mist Shadow Yakes here?"

Steel Treasure nodded seriously.
That made sense. No wonder Treasure Seeker’s shadow didn’t react when bound to Mist Shadow Yake. There were two of them... This was bad. One General-Class Beast Companion was tough enough, but two? How were they supposed to fight that? Qiao Sang didn’t doubt Steel Treasure’s words for a second. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

Qiao Sang turned to Steel Treasure and spoke rapidly.
“Let’s go. We’ll use Spatial Shift to get out of here. I can’t be sure we’ll end up back at your place, but I promise I’ll bring you back next time.”
Treasure Seeker wasn’t familiar with the terrain, especially in the thick fog, so Spatial Shift couldn’t guarantee precise coordinates. But safety was the priority right now.
“Ganggang!”
Steel Treasure nodded without hesitation.
It was always rational, knowing that leaving was the best choice in this situation.
Qiao Sang felt a small sense of relief and immediately turned to Treasure Seeker. “Xun…”
Just then, the fog churned, and a gust of wind blew Steel Treasure’s hat off its head, sending it into the thick mist.
Steel Treasure felt the chill on its head, looked in the direction the hat had fallen, and its pupils dilated. Instinctively, it flapped its wings and chased after it.
Qiao Sang: “!!!”
Qiao Sang was dumbfounded. She never expected the usually smart and rational Steel Treasure to put itself in danger for a hat.
This wasn’t like it at all...
Qiao Sang didn’t have time to think more and quickly tried to sense Steel Treasure’s location.

Unlike Treasure Seeker, Steel Treasure was still a Beginner Beast. It couldn’t use Invisibility, Teleport, or Spatial Shift. If it encountered Mist Shadow Yake in the fog, even if it got hurt, she wouldn’t be able to recall it into the Beastmaster Codex...
Qiao Sang didn’t hesitate and spoke in a low, serious tone, using her first plan.
“Fangy, Mars Rain.”
“Ya!”
Fangy let out a high-pitched cry, tilting its head slightly. A sphere of terrifying energy shot from its mouth, quickly ascending into the sky.
At its highest point, it suddenly exploded.
Flame Rain fell, violently stirring the dense white fog.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
With deafening explosions, the ground below was a sea of burning red.

“Ganggang…”
Steel Treasure regretted its decision as soon as it chased after the hat.
It felt like it had been bewitched, chasing after a hat it had been “forced” to wear. Losing it might even be for the best.
If it needed to cover its bald spot, it could always buy a new one.
Why had it chased after it...
Steel Treasure’s mind was rational, but its speed of descent didn’t slow down; it even increased slightly.
Soon, it saw the lavender color of the hat.
“Ganggang!”
Steel Treasure’s eyes lit up, and it sped up, snatching the hat in its mouth.
Suddenly, it sensed something and stiffened, lifting its head.
A pair of Red eyes, several times larger than its entire body, stared at it coldly.

Steel Treasure’s mind went blank for a moment.
No matter how smart it was, it was still a less than one-year-old juvenile. It had never faced such a powerful presence.
Steel Treasure clutched the hat tightly, feeling its own insignificance.
Then, the temperature around it suddenly soared.
Steel Treasure seemed to understand what was happening and lifted its head in a daze.
A wave of flames descended.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
“Mist Shadow!”
With continuous explosions, the once cold Red eyes now showed a look of pain.
Steel Treasure’s eyes brightened, and it flapped its wings, preparing to hide under Mist Shadow Yake’s massive head.
But in the next instant, a shadow of fire passed by, and Steel Treasure found itself in a warm, familiar place.
“Are you okay?” Qiao Sang asked.
“Ganggang…”
Steel Treasure looked up at Qiao Sang, its expression blank and somewhat dazed.
It was scared... Qiao Sang’s heart sank, and she called out, “Treasure Seeker!”
Forget it, they needed to escape first!
