Dongtu's figure froze, and the hand seals he was forming were left suspended in midair.
Bathed in silver light, Fengye appeared behind Dongtu, his ninja sword, Hakuya, poised to strike.
Being able to dodge his attacks twice while under the influence of the Fourth Gate's four-fold speed boost made this Dongtu the strongest Jonin Fengye had encountered on the battlefield, likely on par with a Kage-level ninja.
He was quite strong.

Dongtu struggled to turn his head to face Fengye.
He couldn't make out Fengye's voice; all he heard was a jumble of sounds, as if played at an increased speed. But that didn't matter. What mattered was how Fengye had managed to break free from his barrier technique. A normal ninja's chakra shouldn't have been able to achieve that.
Unless—Fengye was a jinchuriki! Unfortunately, he would never know the answer.
With great difficulty, he uttered a single word before a clear bloodline appeared, running from his left shoulder to his right abdomen.
Then, blood gushed forth, his body split in two, and he collapsed to the ground, his consciousness slipping into darkness.
From Fengye's escape from the barrier to the killing of Dongtu, one of Iwagakure's elite Jonin, the entire encounter happened in the blink of an eye. The nearby Iwa and Konoha ninjas were so astonished that they barely had time to react.
It wasn't until they saw Dongtu's body split in two and fall to the ground, drenched in blood, that the surrounding Iwa ninjas revealed their shocked and disbelieving expressions.
"D-Dongtu-sama!"
"How could this be...?"
Dongtu's standing in Iwagakure was second only to the highest-ranking members, such as the Tsuchikage's assistants. He was also the leader of the thirty-man ambush party, and his strength and tactics were equally dependable. Yet, such a formidable ninja had perished! Killed by a Konoha ninja, no less, without even putting up much of a fight!
The Konoha ninjas were equally stunned.
Morino Ibiki and the others were left dumbfounded. None of them had expected Fengye's strength to reach such heights, easily slaughtering Chunin and even taking the life of Dongtu, a well-known ninja in the ninja world.
Before this, the death of over a dozen Chunin and three Jonin had not shaken the Iwagakure forces. But Dongtu's demise visibly impacted the entire battlefield, and all the Iwa ninjas began to falter.
Even the group besieging Orochimaru, including Akatsuchi, were affected. One of them was caught off guard by Orochimaru, who severed one of his arms with a swift strike!
"It seems you've lost your composure," Orochimaru remarked, licking his lips and revealing a sinister smile. However, his calm exterior belied the turmoil within, for Fengye's displayed strength had exceeded his expectations as well. Such speed was difficult even for him to capture, and facing it would be a challenging task.
"That state is not merely the Eight Gates... It's bizarre, not just a boost in speed, but more like a—'frequency' increase," Orochimaru mused, his eyes glinting with an otherworldly light.
Based on the oddities he observed, Orochimaru deduced that Fengye was utilizing something far more complex than simple Lightning Release and the Eight Gates. There was likely another, even more bizarre ability at play!
Nonetheless, the staggering power Fengye had displayed, along with his pivotal role in the battle, had already turned the tide in Konoha's favor.
All by himself! That silvery flash,
Reminiscent of Konoha's White Fang from years past!
