Chapter 6: Jūrokuya's Plan
Chapter 6: Jūrokuya’s Plan
“Jūrokuya-kun, thank goodness—we made it out!”
Hinata Hyūga couldn’t contain her excitement as she and Jūrokuya left the Clan Grounds, her voice trembling slightly.
“Stay calm,” Jūrokuya teased, his lips curling into a grin. “Careful, or your father’s guards might be listening in.”
At his words, Hinata clapped a hand over her mouth, glancing around nervously. The sight was so endearing that Jūrokuya chuckled.
“Come on,” he said, leading her away from the central street toward a secluded training ground. “I’ll show you something.”
He wasn’t sure if guards were tailing them, but he kept his Transformation Technique active just in case. Once they reached the forest’s edge, he called out, “Shadow Clone Technique!” A replica of himself shimmered into existence, then vanished in a blur. Moments later, he released his disguise.
Hinata’s eyes lit up. “No one’s following us?”
“Confirmed,” Jūrokuya said. “Now, let me teach you a trick. Practice it at home, and your dad might stop treating you like a prisoner.”
Hinata’s smile deepened. She knew the rules: her father, Hyūga Hiashi, forbade her from fraternizing with outsiders. But Jūrokuya had a plan. He’d disguise himself as Yamanaka Ino.
Why Ino? As a member of the legendary Ino-Shika-Cho alliance, she was one of the few peers who could visit Hinata without raising suspicion. Jūrokuya’s own presence would’ve triggered Neji or the elders to intervene. After all, Hinata was a Hyūga heir, and he was an orphan with no clan—let alone a surname. The gap between them was vast.
Unless… he proved his worth. A genius could earn the Hyūga’s respect. A hero—like Naruto or Sasuke—might even win Hinata’s hand. But for now, subterfuge was his only option.
By the time they reached the abandoned training ground, Jūrokuya turned to Hinata. “Can you use the Three Body Techniques?”
She shook her head. “Father only lets me train in the Gentle Fist. I’ll learn other techniques when the academy teaches them.”
“Then I’ll skip those,” he said. “Instead, I’ll teach you something that’ll improve your chakra control. It’ll help with both your Gentle Fist and Shadow Clone Technique.”
Her eyes widened. “You’re going to teach me Shadow Clone Technique?”
“You got it,” he said. “My clone handles classes now. You could do the same—practice here with me while your clone attends lessons.”
The idea thrilled her. She’d longed to bridge the gap between them, and now? Freedom, friendship, and growth—all in one.
“Follow me,” Jūrokuya said, striding to a massive tree. With a few hand seals, he channeled chakra to his feet and strolled up the trunk, his body defying gravity as he reached the canopy.
“Whoa… amazing!” Hinata gasped.
“It’s the first step,” he said, landing effortlessly. “Next, we’ll try walking on water. Master both, and every technique—from Body Flicker to Shadow Clones—will feel easy.”
Doubt flickered in her gaze. “But… can I really do this?”
He patted her shoulder. “You’re a Hyūga heir. Don’t underestimate yourself. I’ll catch you if you fall.”
His tone turned playful. “But if you lag too far behind, I won’t wait.”
The jab sparked resolve in her. No more disappointments. Not for Jūrokuya. She nodded fiercely. “I’ll do it!”
