The next day, Naruto arrived early in the sealed space and started farming. As he placed the fifth block of soil, Naruto immediately ran out of the gate. He looked back at Kurama. The tail hadn't lifted, the eyes hadn't opened; it seemed he was truly asleep.

Naruto didn't know what Kurama was thinking. Different species had different ways of thinking, but this was a good thing. Running back and forth was really a waste of time.

He continued farming. Naruto didn't plan on planting wheat inside the gate anymore. With Kurama's size, a simple roll would crush a whole field of wheat. It was very likely that Kurama would end up shaking off wheat husks like a dog shaking off water, while saying to him, "What wheat husks?"

。。。。。。。

Time, that little beauty, had stripped down to her three-point bikini on Naruto's bed. Just as Naruto was about to pounce and ravage her, she shouted, "Eighth Gate, Gate of Death, open!" and ran away, giving Naruto no chance to, ahem, get intimate. [1]

In mid-October, after eight months, the sealed space had undergone a huge transformation.

The entire left wall was smoothed with clay, while the right wall was a flat surface made of stone. The back wall, opposite the gate, was a large mirror made up of countless small mirrors. In front of the mirror, iron wires hung down from the ceiling. Every ten meters, a small hanging lamp was tied to the wires. The light from the lamps illuminated the mirror, which then reflected the light throughout the entire space.

During these eight months, Kurama had once again become Schrödinger's fox, constantly in a superposition of sleeping and not sleeping.

Except for when Naruto had covered the entire ground except for the area under Kurama's body, and the next day he came in to see that Kurama had moved to a different spot, he hadn't moved at all.

At this moment, Naruto was standing on scaffolding in front of the clay wall, a ragged cloth in his right hand and a bucket of dye in his left, preparing to write 'Completion Date, October 15th, by Naruto Uzumaki' as a memento.

"Ahhhhh, I don't even know how to write!" Just as he was all set, Naruto realized he couldn't write Japanese. He couldn't possibly write in Chinese, could he?

Naruto had been busy farming for the past two years. The two introductory reading books that the Third Hokage had given him were still gathering dust on his bookshelf – well, a bookshelf with only two books.

He slid down the scaffolding, put the scaffolding back in his storage, and looked thoughtfully at the fox not far away... He remembered that Kurama knew how to write, right?

"Big foxy," Naruto walked to the side of Kurama's face and called out to him.

Now, Naruto was no longer afraid that Kurama would suddenly swat him, a little bean sprout, to death with a paw. When he was laying the soil under Kurama's tail, he had patted the tail, and Kurama had lifted his tail. After he finished laying the soil, it would lower again. A full nine tails, he had been laying soil for so long. If Kurama wanted to kill him, his tail would come down, and he'd be done for.

And there was that goodnight a few months ago. Although Kurama had ignored him again for eight months, making him think he had hallucinated.

Maybe this was the tsundere nature of foxes.

Kurama narrowed his eyes into a small slit. This little brat had been jumping around him for the past few months, using strange abilities to gradually change this place. Stone, soil blocks, mirrors, lamps – seemingly ordinary things, but here, they gave him a strange feeling. Kurama couldn't put his finger on it.

Although he didn't want to admit it, the ground was indeed much more comfortable than water.

"Can you teach me to write?" Naruto reached out and poked the fur under Kurama's mouth. It felt exceptionally good. He had been busy before, but now that he had stopped, the spirit of courting death began to stir.

Kurama bared his teeth, scaring Naruto back several steps. Seeing Kurama's mouth close, he came up again and poked him.

"Brat, you've gone too far," Kurama's crimson eyes suddenly opened wide, his vertical pupils staring at the little brat in front of him. A terrifying aura erupted from his body. He felt that his dignity as a Tailed Beast had been violated.

Naruto was frozen stiff from being stared at. Under the pressure of the aura, even moving a finger was difficult. Gritting his teeth, he took a step forward and poked him again. "If you teach me to write, I'll treat you to barbecue, all you can eat. How about it?"

Naruto wanted to slap himself silly. Why couldn't he control these hands?

Kurama didn't speak, just stared at him, recalling the four pieces of barbecue he had eaten last time.

"One meal for every 50 characters, how about it?" Naruto didn't poke him this time. Don't push your luck too far, he'd learned that from a certain novel he'd read. If you pushed your luck more than three times, you might end up dying a very miserable death.

Kurama still didn't speak.

Naruto was in a difficult position. If you don't speak, there's no way to negotiate.

"Then 40 characters a meal?" Since the other party wasn't speaking, Naruto could only try to impress him by raising the price.

Kurama retracted his aura, his eyes narrowed slightly, and two of his tails stood up behind him. He remembered that the barbecue last time was quite delicious.

"Okay, two meals for 40 characters," Seeing Kurama's gesture, Naruto quickly agreed. This should be considered the first time Kurama had communicated with him normally, even if it was a bit fierce.

He reached out and poked Kurama again, then Naruto's little legs spun like a wheel, and he ran straight out of the gate, disappeared, and returned to reality.

"Roar, brat... I'm going to kill you!"

Kurama's roar echoed in the space, but Naruto couldn't hear it anymore.

Returning to consciousness, Naruto walked to the bookshelf and picked up the two dusty introductory books, one in English and one in Japanese, with a bunch of illustrations on them, but he couldn't understand them.

He opened the Japanese book, memorized the way a few characters were written, and entered the sealed space.

He summoned the scaffolding, climbed up, and with the ragged cloth and dye, began to write the 26 letters of the English alphabet on the wall, along with the dozen or so Japanese characters he had just memorized.

"Big foxy, why are these different from those?" Naruto pointed to the English letters on the wall and asked.

Naruto knew it was English. The fact that the Naruto world had English, something that transcended worldviews, was just unspeakable. How did Kishimoto [2] even come up with that?

"That's code," Kurama was a master of ventriloquism; he could speak without even opening his mouth.

"Code?" Naruto was puzzled. Wasn't it called English?

Kurama explained in an impatient tone.

About 55 years ago, when Konoha was just established, a strange space suddenly appeared in the sky above the Land of Fire's capital. A few iron pipes, wooden boards, a few books, and two cats fell down, named Ginger and Fishcake.

The books were deciphered by the Land of Fire, and Konoha used them as code language. Later, as it spread, various countries began to use this language, so Konoha switched to a different code language.

"Are those two cats still alive?" Naruto found it extremely comical. These two cats, he didn't know if they were lucky or unlucky, had survived such a battle and were unexpectedly sent to this high-powered world.

"Alive, in the Fire Capital," Kurama glanced sideways. This Jinchuriki really had a problem with his brain. One second he was learning about language, and the next second he was asking about cats.

"Brat, are you still learning or not?" Kurama didn't want to waste time on such messy cat and dog issues. He wanted to finish teaching quickly so he could eat meat. He had almost forgotten how many years ago it was since he last ate? A hundred years? Two hundred years?

"Learn," Naruto suppressed the thought of going to the Fire Capital to pet the cats and prepared for the next scene.

"I'll only say it once, you remember it."

"Okay."

In Naruto's mind, he provided his own soundtrack: 'Teasing Teacher Nine, Bad Student, Scene One, Take One, Action!'

Kurama read the characters on the wall once, and Naruto quickly marked the pronunciation below using English.

The effect was similar to how he learned English in elementary school, using Chinese characters to record the pronunciation under the words, like "Tuo Ma Tou" (Tomato), "Ai Pao" (Apple), and so on.

Never mind the pronunciation; as long as he could recognize them, it was fine.
