Chapter 6: Big Brother, I Want to Team Up
Chapter 6: Big Brother, I Want to Team Up
On his way back, Luk casually bought a chakra test paper to determine his elemental affinity, hoping to set clear goals for his future.
As he approached his house, he saw a cart parked in front of Ichiraku Ramen, loaded with several bags of flour. Uncle Teuchi was sweating profusely as he struggled to unload them.
Ichiraku Ramen was a bustling place with a high customer turnover, requiring a steady supply of ingredients. Luk often saw this scene, but this time, he paused to think for a moment.
Besides using the Shadow Clone Jutsu to create a clone and deceive his family, another viable plan was to establish his own household after getting married. While living with his wife would bring them closer, it would reduce the number of people keeping an eye on him from three to one. In civilian families, the husband and father usually held the most authority.
Even if his wife discovered his secrets, she would likely keep them rather than report them.
With this thought, Luk smiled and walked over. "Uncle Teuchi, let me help you."
He didn't necessarily need to use this method to distance himself from his family; it was just an additional option. Normal dating and relationships were also entirely possible.
Previously, he hadn't been interested in finding a partner because he knew about Konoha's turbulent future and his lack of self-defense skills. But now, with the shared strength, his energetic body shyly told his brain:
Big brother, little brother wants to grow.
The kind of growth that involves teaming up!
Uncle Teuchi didn't refuse, nodding with a smile. "Thanks, kid from the Sengoku family. The shop is busy, and the customers are waiting for their meals."
Luk picked up a bag of flour with one hand and, following Uncle Teuchi's instructions, placed it in the storage room.
Inside the shop, a tall, simply dressed yet strikingly beautiful young woman served bowls of ramen to the customers, each time greeting them with a sweet smile.
Shizune, the best seasoning at Ichiraku Ramen.
As Luk was moving the flour, their eyes met. Shizune paused, her face flushing lightly, then nodded in thanks and hurried back to work.
In no time, Luk finished moving the flour. It was around the dinner hour, so he decided to sit down at an empty seat and called out, "Uncle Teuchi, I'd like a bowl of ramen too."
"Coming right up!"
A few minutes later, Shizune brought him a bowl of ramen, packed with generous portions of char siu and fish balls, the red broth and white noodles emitting a rich aroma.
"Thank you, Luk-kun, for helping Dad with the flour."
Shizune's voice was gentle, like a warm breeze, and her relationship with Uncle Teuchi was more intimate and relaxed than a typical father-daughter bond.
Luk looked at her beautiful face and smiled, nodding. "Thank you, but you got one thing wrong."
"Eh?" Shizune looked puzzled.
"I wasn't helping Uncle Teuchi. I was helping you."
Luk said this matter-of-factly, not waiting for her reaction, and started eating his ramen.
Shizune stood there, feeling a warm blush spread across her cheeks.
The Sengoku family had moved next to Ichiraku Ramen six years ago. Although both families were busy, they often visited and chatted, so she naturally noticed Luk, a boy her age.
Especially when Luk was working as a blacksmith, his upper body was often exposed, revealing his well-defined muscles and good looks. His face, flushed red from the furnace heat, and his chest, glistened with sweat sliding down his pectoral and abdominal muscles, finally landing on his dark pants.
Shangpu: (ω)
Honestly, girls can also be attracted to men.
And Qian's mother once mentioned in passing that Luk chose this position specifically for himself, believing the two of them would eventually end up together.
However, before this, Luk's attitude towards her was always indifferent, neither distant nor close. As a girl, she felt it necessary to maintain some distance, so the two of them never really got together.
She didn't know what to do, finding today's Luk especially good-looking and more relaxed than usual, and more... intimate with himself. This made Shangpu a bit uneasy, unable to keep her composure.
Has Luk finally come to his senses?
Before she could think further, she stopped in her tracks, and a cheerful voice urged, "Shangpu, what are you doing? Hurry up and serve the guest!"
"Ah, yes."
Shangpu snapped out of her daze and her face returned to normal, quickly getting back to work. For a while, she didn't dare look at Luk's exposed area.
The taste of Yilada noodles was indeed excellent, the noodles firm and the broth exceptionally fresh and flavorful. Luk ate the noodles, feeling quite good.
A young, energetic boy's voice filled the shop with a lively atmosphere, cooling the tension for a moment.
Luk glanced over, the boy had golden hair, blue eyes, and whiskers on his face that looked like they could be from a cat or a fox. He wore a dirty and tattered thin shirt, his face beaming with a bright and clear smile.
"It's Naruto, find a spot to sit, and we'll be fine."
Uncle Ile's light tone broke the frozen atmosphere, and a low murmur of conversation started.
"That boy is a legend..."
"Don't say it, it's not lucky."
"Did you see the whiskers on his face?"
"Can't forgive..."
"Why does the village still allow such a monster to live?"
Skeptic, disdainful, and hateful gazes focused on Naruto, whose face still wore a smile, but his small fists were clenched.
He looked around, his eyes brightening when he saw Luk, and he ran over, tentatively asking, "Can I sit here?"
"You're the guest, sit where you want." Luk answered casually.
It wasn't just Naruto's special intuition or the nine-tails' abilities that made him stand out. Naruto could faintly sense the emotions of the people around him, and in the midst of the dark negative energy, Luk's presence was like a bright light in the darkness.
This wasn't the first time Naruto ran over to sit with him, though he never dared to speak to Luk, fearing that any conversation would make Luk run away.
Luk found it hard to have any ill will towards Naruto. As he grew older, with extensive experience, he no longer harbored any grudges against the passionate and solitary Naruto. He still liked the boy a lot.
It was the boy he had watched grow up.
