Jiang Xia finished her class, packed her textbooks, and headed to the principal's office.
There were several people in the principal's office, including Elder He.
Elder He called out to Jiang Xia with a smile, "Xia, come over. Let me introduce you to everyone."
Jiang Xia walked in confidently, greeting Principal Yan and Elder He first.
The people in the room, who had been sitting, all stood up.
Elder He smiled and introduced Jiang Xia to everyone, "This is Comrade Xia, whose name you've all heard of."
"Elder He, this is the factory manager of the Capital City Garment Factory, Manager Huo!"
Jiang Xia bowed slightly to show her respect and said with a smile, "Manager Huo, nice to meet you!"
Manager Huo immediately extended his hand to Jiang Xia, "Teacher Jiang, nice to meet you! I've heard a lot about you from last year."
Jiang Xia shook his hand and smiled, "You flatter me, Manager Huo. Please call me Xia."
Elder He then introduced the managers of the Capital City Textile Factory, Food Factory, Plastic Factory, Machinery Factory, and a shipyard from Tianjin.
After everyone shook hands and exchanged greetings, they all sat down.
These managers were the ones Elder He had mentioned earlier, whom he wanted to introduce to Jiang Xia as potential clients for her part-time translation work. To make things easier for Jiang Xia, they were all from the same industries where she had worked as a translator at the Guangzhou Trade Fair.
Elder He said, "I can arrange for the Capital City factories and the ones you previously worked with to have adjacent booths. This will make it easier for you to handle the translation. Factories of the same category can be grouped together, but not those from different categories."
Jiang Xia smiled, "This arrangement will indeed make things much easier for me. Thank you, Elder He."
Since Jiang Xia had previously declined Elder He's offer, she would still choose to work with the factories she had collaborated with before. The managers had even visited her in the hospital when her children were born, so it would be difficult to refuse them.
Translating for too many factories would be overwhelming for Jiang Xia.
Now, with Elder He's arrangement, it would be much more convenient for her. Grouping two factories together would be like working for just one.
After a while of chatting, the manager of the garment factory asked Jiang Xia if she had any ideas to boost sales.

Jiang Xia explained, "For example, in the garment industry, we can organize a fashion show in the square or a designated area. We can invite models to walk the runway. Manager Huo, you know that clothes look much better when they are worn than when they are just hanging. Different people can look different in the same clothes, but when people see someone else looking beautiful in an outfit, they often think it will look just as good on them. When they see someone looking good in an outfit, they can't resist buying one for themselves."
"Right, right, right! Teacher Jiang is absolutely correct!" The owner of the garment factory’s eyes lit up. A fashion show and a dedicated clothing exhibition would be a huge boon for their factory.
The owner of the food factory couldn’t help but chime in, "Can our food factory do the same?"
Jiang Xia nodded, "Of course, your food factory can have a food tasting event. Use the colors, aromas, and flavors on-site to attract consumer interest. However, providing samples will increase promotional costs."
The factory manager of the food factory nodded vigorously, "Right, right, right! This is definitely doable! I agree. Offering a few samples won’t be a big issue and won’t significantly increase costs."
The owner of the machinery factory interjected, "That works for your products, but we have large equipment. Are we supposed to move them out for display?"
The owner of the shipyard added, "Our shipyard also can’t manage that."
Jiang Xia explained, "Due to the nature of your products, it’s indeed challenging to display them directly. However, you can use models, single advanced pieces of equipment, or even photos and illustrated brochures. During the dedicated exhibition, you can showcase models and your most advantageous equipment and technology. Often, a good picture and a bit of talk are enough to sell things."
Elder He remarked, "That’s a good idea, but with so many factories participating in the Guangzhou Trade Fair, it’s impossible to guarantee that every company can have its own dedicated exhibition. Coordinating this will be difficult."
Jiang Xia responded, "Some industries can collaborate. For example, several garment factories can join forces for a fashion show, making it larger and more attractive. However, some industries are indeed less suitable for this, and in the first year, not all factories may be willing to participate or know how to prepare. We might be the only few. Once the results are in, more factories will likely join the following year. At that point, we can select qualified participants based on criteria such as the previous year’s transaction volume."
The owner of the garment factory raised both hands high, "Teacher Jiang, this is a brilliant idea! You’re absolutely right! I fully support it!"
The owner of the machinery factory, finding the idea less useful for his factory, glanced at the garment factory owner with a twitching mouth, "Is it really that necessary to be so dramatic!"
The garment factory owner shot him a smug look.
Of course, it’s necessary to be dramatic!
Who cares if other industries or factories can do it? As long as their garment factory can participate, that’s all that matters.
This is such a great idea. If they miss it this year, who knows if they’ll get another chance next year?
Elder He had already mentioned that many factories would be participating in the Guangzhou Trade Fair, and it’s impossible to cater to every single one.
If the next year’s opportunities are determined by transaction volumes, a successful dedicated exhibition this year would be highly beneficial for their garment factory.
Opportunities are fleeting. This is the first time it’s being proposed, and their factory has already prepared. They are definitely going to participate.
The owner of the food factory also raised his hand, "I support it with both hands and both feet!"
The owners of the textile and plastic factories also chimed in, "I agree!"
"I fully support it!"
This is like having an additional booth right at the entrance where all guests can see it. Who wouldn’t be thrilled?
