Chapter 593: Christmas Ball (Part 2) (First Update)
Chapter 593: Christmas Ball (Part 2) (First Update)
The Odd Sisters band played a melodious waltz, and amid the enthusiastic applause of the audience, Jerry led Hermione to the center of the Great Hall.
Following the rhythm of the waltz, Jerry wrapped his arm around Hermione's waist, pulled her close, and smiled down at her.
"Let's get started!"
Hermione blushed and nodded.
Jerry had no expertise in dancing, but his physical prowess was exceptional, and his understanding of the world's laws had deepened through his constant research.
Recently, he had even created a new type of Magic called "Dance Magic" specifically for the Christmas ball.
The principle behind "Dance Magic" was similar to the "Combat Magic" Jerry had previously mastered, but it had been upgraded.
"Combat Magic" initially came from the Clow Cards, where he integrated all the combat knowledge he had gathered and mastered.
When used, even a complete novice in combat could instantly transform into a martial artist.
Now, "Dance Magic" allowed Jerry to connect his mind directly with the world, drawing upon all the knowledge related to dance and integrating it.
This fundamentally surpassed the previous "Combat Magic." Once activated, even someone who couldn't dance would instantly become the world's top dance master, as it represented the pinnacle of dance in this world.
"Dance!"
As Jerry silently cast "Dance Magic" on himself and Hermione, their initially clumsy steps instantly became smooth.
They grew more and more proficient, their movements becoming increasingly graceful, and before long, they had captured the attention of everyone in the hall.
"Merlin's beard, they're dancing so well!"
"Too beautiful!"
"It's like art!"
"They're such a perfect match!"
With Jerry holding Hermione and dancing under the influence of "Dance Magic", they performed a flawless, elegant, and impeccable waltz, drawing continuous exclamations of amazement.
Even the most dazzling pair, Fleur, who had been the best dancers initially, was outshone.
"Jerry, what's happening? I suddenly feel like I understand a lot about dancing, and my body has become so much more agile."
Not only the young witches on the sides but Hermione herself, who was dancing with Jerry, also looked surprised.
Like Jerry, Hermione had buried herself in magic books and had no time to learn various dances. She had only started learning the basics of the waltz after finding out about the Christmas ball.
So in terms of dancing, she was even less experienced than Jerry. Jerry, though a beginner, had the physical strength and learning ability to manage decently.
However, after just a few moments of dancing, she realized that her mind was suddenly filled with a wealth of dance knowledge, and her body had transformed from its previous stiff, wooden state to one of extreme agility.
It felt as though she was born to dance.
Hermione was well aware of her own dance abilities, so the intelligent girl immediately guessed that this had to be related to Jerry.
Only Jerry could consistently surprise her with unexpected feats.
And indeed, as she had suspected, when she asked, Jerry didn't hide it from her. He smiled and whispered an explanation:
"It's a Magic that aids in dancing, something I recently developed. If you want to learn, I can teach you. Whenever we encounter such occasions in the future, you can use this Magic, and you won't have to worry about dancing anymore."
"Magic for dancing? I want to learn!"
After hearing Jerry's explanation, Hermione was inwardly impressed. It was no wonder that Jerry could invent such a unique form of Magic. She was genuinely intrigued by it.
She believed that her talent for dancing couldn't compare to her talent for learning Magic.
As Jerry had said, if she learned the Dance Magic, she wouldn't have to spend extra time learning dance routines.
It might take her months to master a single dance, but with Jerry's guidance, she could probably grasp this Dance Magic in just a few days, allowing her to handle any dance style.
As the organ played the final trembling note, the grand opening dance concluded, and the Great Hall erupted into enthusiastic applause.
At the same time, Professor Mcgonagall's slightly excited voice rang out:
"The Christmas dance has officially begun!"
The organ music started again, this time with a faster rhythm.
This time, everyone stood up, even the headmasters and referees joined in. Dumbledore and Professor Mcgonagall formed a pair, Hagrid and Madame Maxime, Flitwick and Sprout. The atmosphere in the Great Hall reached its peak.
Of course, there were exceptions, like their new headmaster, Professor Snape. He simply sat there, sipping his drink, his eyes wandering as if lost in some distant memory.
After the second song ended, the third one began immediately.
This time, it wasn't a waltz but a rock song made famous by the Odd Sisters.
The lights in the Great Hall began to flash with the music, and the elegant waltz steps were instantly replaced by free-form rock steps.
The Great Hall of Hogwarts was transformed into a large Witch dance party.
It was clear that while Witches couldn't accept Muggle technology, they were quite open to Muggle music and dance.
This was understandable, as the Witch community had seen a surge in Witches from Muggle families over the years. These Witches, influenced by their Muggle upbringing, brought some aspects of Muggle culture into the Witch world.
Especially something as easily spread and generally well-received as music.
Apart from Muggle technology, Witches weren't particularly opposed to other Muggle things.
If you looked closely, you'd notice that Witches in the Witch world, except on special occasions, often didn't wear Witch robes but instead opted for suits and ties.
This was because they sometimes integrated into Muggle society.
However, without knowledge of physics, chemistry, and other sciences, Witches found it difficult to understand Muggle technology.
"Jerry, I can't do it. I can't do it. I can't go on!"
After three or four songs, Hermione's small body finally gave out. She clung to Jerry, exclaiming that she couldn't keep dancing.
Witches indeed had stronger vitality than ordinary people, but in terms of strength and speed, they were similar to humans. Hermione had learned Jerry's Meditation Technique, which improved her physical condition more than the average Witch.
However, she was the type who spent all her time buried in books and rarely exercised. Such intense physical activity was naturally too much for her body to handle.
