Chapter 587: The Purpose of Credits
Chapter 587: The Purpose of Credits
Su Yu's figure materialized in the basement of Donna's villa, finally back on Blue Star. Looking around at the familiar surroundings, he finally let his guard down.
"Finally home!"
He sprawled out on the basement floor, his arms spread wide, feeling both mentally and physically drained. However, it wasn't time to rest yet.
Raising his right hand, he looked at the [Ring of the Departed] on his right index finger and sent a threatening message to it: "Stay inside and behave. If you misbehave even a little, I'll tear your soul into pieces!"
This threat was directed at Scarlo, whose soul was trapped inside the ring. After Scarlo's soul entered the ring, Su Yu used his mental powers to isolate it from the souls of the two dragons, ensuring they were unaware of each other's presence.
Scarlo, aware of the threat, quickly responded, "Yes, Master Su Yu. I promise to behave. But could you provide some books? I'm getting really bored in here."
Su Yu's lips twitched. This Skrull was quite bold, already making demands!
However, Su Yu didn't ignore his request and tossed a few ancient texts from the museum into the ring.
Scarlo was a direct descendant of Steem, and Su Yu could use him to negotiate for a significant amount of gold.
After dealing with Scarlo, Su Yu used his mental powers to probe into the pet space.
Morning Star, his feline companion, was there, healing from her injuries. Deep blue blood flowed from an arterial wound in her leg, completely soaking the left hind leg. Her abdomen and forehead also had several wounds, continuously bleeding. Her breathing was labored, and the starlight that usually shimmered on her fur had dimmed completely.
Seeing her in this state, Su Yu felt a deep pain in his heart. He asked with concern, "Morning Star, how are you feeling? Is there anything I can do? I have a Master-level healing potion. Would you like to drink one?"
Morning Star lifted her head slightly in the pet space and connected her mental energy with Su Yu's, replying, "No, my injuries aren't too severe. There's no need to waste the healing potion."
Morning Star knew the high cost of Master-level healing potions; a single bottle cost 11 million spirit coins! She wanted to save as much as possible for Su Yu.
After a moment's thought, she added, "If you really want to help, you can catch some [Astral Rats] for me when we return to our world. They are a primary food source for my kind, and eating them will speed up my recovery."
"Alright," Su Yu immediately responded. "Once we finish our business here, I'll go catch them for you."
"Thank you," Morning Star said, then focused on her healing.
While communicating with Morning Star, Su Yu left the basement and walked into the living room on the first floor of the villa. Donna's villa had strong shielding capabilities, so the massive spiritual energy fluctuations caused by his teleportation from Skrull Star to Blue Star went unnoticed by the strong individuals on Blue Star, including Chancellor Cao.
Su Yu hurried toward the door, intending to inform everyone that he was alive and well, so they wouldn't worry about him.
But just then, he heard Donna's lazy voice from the bedroom above, "Su Yu, is that you? Did you come back?"
Su Yu stopped and smiled toward the bedroom. "Yes, Senior, it's me. I'm back."
"Okay. No issues, right? If not, I'll go back to sleep," Donna said, closing her eyes and preparing to continue her nap.
It was true; without the excessive interference of the "Hymn," sleep was much more refreshing!
Su Yu was about to say "No issues," but then he remembered something.
There was one thing he really needed Donna's help with.
So he called out loudly toward the bedroom, "Senior Donna, I need your help with something really important!"
With her permission, Su Yu entered Donna's bedroom.
Donna’s room was no different from an ordinary Earth girl’s, except for one thing: her bed was exceptionally wide. Ten Su Yus could lie down side by side without feeling cramped.
Donna, wearing a light blue nightgown, was hugging a white cylindrical pillow.
She lifted her head, her eyes still half-closed, and looked at Su Yu. "What is it?"
"Here’s the thing," Su Yu said seriously. "I want to meet your brother, Link. I have something I need his help with."
"Forget it, that’s impossible," Donna interrupted, then buried her head back into the pillow. "I can help you because I’m a Game Monitor for Evolution and naturally stand on the side of Earth humans. Your victory benefits me too.
But my brother is different."
She turned over, still hugging the pillow, and continued, "My brother is a War Monitor. He must remain absolutely neutral. Helping any side without authorization would result in sanctions from the Hymn."
But Su Yu cut her off, "I’ll offer 100 credits. I just want to meet Link."
Over the past few months, Su Yu had conquered and occupied 317 psychic springs, including two large ones.
In terms of credits, he had accumulated a total of 18,360 points.
So he didn’t mind using some of his credits to ask Donna and Link for help.
...
The moment she heard "100 credits," Donna perked up.
She pulled out something that looked like a "branch" and spoke a few words in Holy Silver, a language Su Yu couldn’t understand.
Then she sat up cross-legged on the bed and smiled at Su Yu. "My brother Link is currently on Earth. He’ll be here in five minutes."
"Thank you, Senior!" Su Yu said, grateful, and tossed two plaques marked with "50" credits onto Donna’s bed.
"You’re welcome, Junior," Donna said, her eyes narrowing into slits as she took the plaques. "As long as there are credits, both my brother and I are happy to help. Even the Hymn can’t fault us for that."
Su Yu’s eyes twinkled. "What if I wanted to hire Link for the final battle? How many credits would that cost?"
"That..." Donna’s smile froze. "No amount of credits would make it possible. If a War Monitor were to participate in a war, it would severely damage the credibility of the Holy Silver Federation among the entire Song civilization. Even if you offered 100 million credits, Link wouldn’t join the battle."
"Is that so?" Su Yu said, a bit disappointed.
But Donna quickly changed the subject. "Alright, let’s not talk about that. Junior, tell me about your trip to Skrull. Did you bring me back any gifts?"
"Speaking of gifts, I did bring some!"
Su Yu pulled out several large bottles of pearl powder and some small trinkets that Holy Silver people liked from his necklace and smiled. "Senior, this is Azure Pearl Powder from the Dragon City of the Sun Empire. It’s ground by a 52-year-old master craftsman and is more expensive than gold by weight on the market!"
"And this is the 'Tomine Ring' from the Lankte Alliance. It’s hand-carved and crafted by a master over several years. I paid 4 million Sun Credits for it."
