Chapter 587: Exactly as You Requested
Chapter 587: Exactly as You Requested
Inside a sealed Port at Headquarters, where a Warship was docked.
A group of people stood observing the only massive ship inside the Port, discussing it enthusiastically.
Leading the group was a bearded man wrapped in a hooded cloak, his expression resolute.
"Kas, what do you think?!"
Beside the bearded man, Wilbur grinned excitedly. "This ship was built exactly to Kuromr.'s specifications. It's completely finished!"
"Not bad at all!" Kas exclaimed, equally thrilled. "This is the kind of ship that suits Kuromr.!"
Behind him, Donald crossed his arms and nodded. "It's truly an impressive vessel. Its bold design screams authority. The moment New World pirates see this ship, they'll know it belongs to Kurovice Admiral!"
"It really is quite striking", Fen Ni agreed.
Ju Geng nodded as well. "Golden. Absolutely magnificent."
"Um..."
Sazil hesitantly raised his hand. "If I'm not mistaken, Lidamiss mentioned that Kurovice Admiral wanted an ordinary Warship."
"You wouldn't understand", Kas shook his head. "What Kuromr. considers 'ordinary' is completely different from our definition. His vision transcends mortal limitations. Don't confine his thinking within human boundaries."
"What we consider ordinary might just be a standard Warship, but to Kuromr., 'ordinary' might mean something like this—this is already the absolute best we could achieve. Wilbur, you did an excellent job barely keeping up with Kuromr.'s vision!"
"Understood! I'll keep striving!"
Wilbur clenched his fists, blue veins bulging. "I'm determined to become Kuromr.'s Spear! I'll work tirelessly to follow in his footsteps!"
Kas grabbed Wilbur's hands, his eyes gleaming. "Let's strive together, Wilbur!"
Wilbur's eyes glistened. "Kas!"
"Wilbur!!"
"Kas!!"
"Wilbur!!!"
"Kas!!!"
Fen Ni and Sazil remained eerily calm, watching the two like they were observing mentally challenged individuals.
Ju Geng maintained her serene smile. Since she couldn't hear clearly anyway, smiling was always the safest bet when unsure.
Behind them, the equally expressionless Douglegnavy squadron stood in formation.
As clones, they rarely experienced strong emotions beyond Kas's "Justice Quotes." Though they now possessed independent thoughts, those were still too faint to manifest.
"Ohhhhh!!"
Suddenly, Donald clenched his fists, shouting excitedly. "The bond between men truly is passionate!"
"Kas, I've memorized some new Justice Quotes recently. Want to research them together?" Wilbur asked.
"Absolutely! Thanks to you last time, I was able to reflect deeply on my shortcomings. Kuromr.'s scolding awakened me, and I feel profound shame for my previous complacency. I've been diligently cultivating ever since! Let's study more Justice Quotes together to stay vigilant!"
The two walked out arm-in-arm, their camaraderie radiating.
The others followed behind as the sealed Port doors gradually closed.
A single golden light seeped through the narrowing gap, vanishing completely as the doors shut.
...
Several days later, Kuro's Warship arrived at Headquarters.
At the main Port, thousands of Navy personnel stood at attention. Leading them were Kas, Wilbur, Ju Geng, Donald, Sazil, and Fen Ni, all watching as the Warship docked.
A staircase descended from the ship's side. Chewing a cigar, Kuro stepped off first, followed closely by Lida and Klah.
Under the fluttering hooded cloaks, the group set foot on the Port.
Before them, the thousands of Navy personnel parted into two lines, creating a solemn path as they saluted in perfect unison.
"Kuromr.!" Kas and Wilbur shouted, their voices brimming with excitement.
"Kurovice Admiral!" the others called in unison.
"Tch, you all came."
Kuro scanned the crowd, addressing Kas. "Did you bring everyone?"
"Yes, Kuromr.!" Kas replied. "Upon receiving your summons, I brought the entire Navy squadron!"
"Good." Kuro nodded. "How's Pegasus Island?"
"Kuromr., I've done my utmost to maintain peace in West Blue!" Kas declared with a serious expression. "I'll continue regular patrols to ensure absolute peace across Pegasus Island and the entire West Blue!"
Kuro had temporarily borrowed Gramps' authority to station a Pacifista there, though only a white one.
As an Improved PX-Z model, it was slightly weaker than the original versions but more cost-effective, allowing mass production. These units primarily targeted notorious pirates, filling the gap in mid-to-low-tier Navy combat power.
For lower-ranking Marines, chasing famous pirates was often beyond their capabilities, while deploying high-ranking officers was overkill and impractical. The Pacifista perfectly bridged this gap.
Stationing them in West Blue alongside regular Navy forces proved sufficient.
Still, this situation troubled Kuro. Managing expanded territories required regular patrols. Though West Blue was separated from New World only by the Calm Belt, the journey itself often brought unexpected dangers.
But now, a more pressing concern was Kas's determined expression.
The look on Kas's face sent a chill through Kuro's spine, an ominous premonition rising.
"What did you do?" he asked warily.
"Reporting, Kuromr.!" Kas saluted. "I simply coordinated all West Blue branches to eradicate pirates intensively over the past six months! Your previous scolding filled me with shame, and I resolved to accomplish something meaningful to prove myself worthy of your trust!"
His expression turned remorseful. "Unfortunately, time was limited. We couldn't eliminate all pirates completely. I've failed to meet your expectations, Kuromr."
What the hell did you actually do?!
Kuro's face contorted in pain, pinching his brow. "Eradicating West Blue pirates? How much did you finish?"
"Only one-third." Kas shook his head. "Some pirates escaped our grasp. I'm truly sorry for disappointing you."
The Old Man never expected that from you.
You've outdone even my wildest days!
I only dared eliminate pirates secretly, but you mobilized the entire West Blue Navy?!
"Forget it", Kuro waved dismissively. "As long as no major consequences arise. Is my Flagship ready?"
"Affirmative, Kuromr.!" Wilbur beamed. "Your Flagship is complete and awaiting your inspection. It was built exactly to your specifications!"
"What's there to see?" Kuro scoffed. "An ordinary Warship isn't worth inspecting. Just launch it when we depart. I'm going to find Gramps. You all rest up."
With that, he strode toward Headquarters' main building.
