Chapter 586: Enthusiastic Fanatic Followers
Chapter 586: Enthusiastic Fanatic Followers
"Of course, that was my oversight!" Dumbledore laughed, showing no intention of making things difficult for Karkaroff. He called the surrounding students to form a line and return to the castle together.
Ivan, realizing he was no longer needed as a tool, rejoined the Hogwarts group and followed everyone to the Great Hall.
On the way, Ron was like a man on a high, talking non-stop about Krum's achievements. He looked at Ivan enviously and asked, "Ivan, I saw you talking to Krum earlier. How was it?"
"Hmm, what can I say? He was quite polite..." Ivan raised an eyebrow, giving a perfunctory response.
In their brief interaction, Krum had been silenced by Ivan's retort but didn't get angry. His demeanor was commendable, at least he didn't have the bad habits of those spoiled celebrities.
"Really? You think so too?" Ron was delighted, as if he had found a common topic. He continued enthusiastically, "Celebrities as approachable as Krum are rare. If I could talk to him, he might even give me an autographed photo..."
Hermione, who had been listening, couldn't help but interject. "You're wrong, Ron! There are plenty of approachable celebrities, and you're friends with two of them right here!"
Hermione was referring to Ivan and Harry. One was the youngest recipient of the Order of Merlin, First Class, and the other was the savior of the British Wizarding World, far surpassing any Quidditch star!
"That... that's different!" Ron's face turned red, stammering for a moment before changing the subject. "I bet every wizard in the world knows Krum! He's so famous..."
Ivan didn't bother with Ron; arguing with a fanatic was pointless, and he wouldn't lower himself to compare himself with Krum.
However, Ivan soon realized that there were many young wizards as enthusiastic as Ron. For example, Lee Jordan, the Quidditch commentator, was so excited upon seeing Krum that he was jumping around and could barely speak coherently. One might think he had just lost his mind.
A few young witches nearby were also looking at Krum with starry eyes, as if they wanted to cling to him.
This scene piqued Ivan's curiosity. After all, he was a celebrity himself, so why had he never encountered any admirers at Hogwarts?
Was it because he was too close to the students, making it impossible for them to idealize him? Or was it the lack of mystery?
Of course, Ivan thought it was a good thing. It meant he was free from unnecessary trouble.
As he pondered this, a System Notification sounded in his mind.
[Ding, new task generated!]
Hearing the familiar voice, Ivan had a bad feeling. He quickly checked his task list and, sure enough, found a new entry.
[Task: Enthusiastic Fanatic Followers
Mission Objective: Gain over a hundred Fanatic Followers at Hogwarts
Mission Progress: 4/100
Mission Reward: Legend Points * 2
Mission Description: After initially controlling Knockturn Alley, you turn your attention to this ancient castle. The monotonous and dull school life cannot satisfy your growing ambitions. You urgently need to gather enough followers in this castle to proclaim your evil ideals!]
……
Note: You clearly realize that controlling a hundred young wizards is equivalent to controlling a hundred wizard families!
Ivan glanced a few times, striving to steady his emotions. After understanding the general content of the task, he closed the System panel.
He wanted to pretend he had never seen this task, but ultimately couldn't resist the urge to complain.
Am I really that evil?
Ivan thought about the System Tasks he had triggered over the years and fell into deep contemplation. In the end, he concluded that the System must have malfunctioned, leading to a misunderstanding of his character.
Additionally, the four Fanatic Followers listed on the Mission Progress made Ivan somewhat curious. He had never noticed their existence before.
Who could they be?
Ivan turned his head and saw Ron sitting beside him. He immediately ruled him out, as Ron could only be a Fanatic Follower of Krum.
Next, Ivan looked at Harry and Hermione. After some thought, he decided they were unlikely to be Fanatic Followers. After all, they were his friends, and that didn't quite fit the description of a Fanatic Admirer.
Could it be Colin the photographer and Seamus the poet? But who are the other two?
While pondering this, Ivan stepped into the Great Hall and found a seat at the Gryffindor long table.
Ron sat on the side facing the door, deliberately leaving an empty seat beside him.
Krum and his Durmstrang classmates were gathered near the entrance, seemingly hesitant about where to sit. They glanced over, specifically looking at Ivan and Hermione, but Ron stubbornly believed Krum was looking at him.
However, it turned out that Ron was just imagining things. After a brief discussion with his companions, Krum ultimately walked over to the Slytherin seats.
Malfoy and his two cronies were visibly pleased, welcoming Krum's arrival. Krum didn't refuse their hospitality and sat down next to them, engaging in conversation.
Ron was furious at the sight, convinced that Malfoy had tricked Krum into changing his mind.
"I bet it won't take long for Krum to see what kind of scum Malfoy really is. He's probably trying to get information out of him now!" Ron said with a bitter tone, then turned to Harry to discuss where the new students would be staying.
"If there aren't enough bedrooms, we can add a bed for Krum in our dorm, Harry... I can even let him have my bed, or we can share if he doesn't mind!"
Ron spoke with great enthusiasm, not noticing that Harry was subtly moving closer to Ivan—Harry was somewhat suspicious about Ron's sexual orientation.
Amidst the noisy atmosphere, all the young wizards took their seats at their respective House long tables.
The Beauxbatons students had already made their decision, choosing to sit with the Ravenclaw young wizards.
When they saw Dumbledore, Karkaroff, and Maxime passing by, they all stood up to greet them. They only sat down again once Maxime had taken her seat at the teachers' table.
Once everyone was seated, Dumbledore strode to the front of the hall. He stood there, his gaze sweeping the room.
Under an indescribable pressure, the noisy Great Hall quickly fell silent.
