Chapter 58: Lanchi's Hellish Nuclear Fusion
Chapter 58: Lanchi's Hellish Nuclear Fusion
The dimly lit stage was illuminated by brilliant pillars of light, like stars sparkling in the night sky.
As Da'ai Poet gracefully bowed with her hand over her heart, the stage lights dimmed, and the melody began to play.
At the back of the stage, Lanchi, with his head down and eyes focused, gently caressed the piano keys, initiating the prelude to the Hellish Overture.
At the front of the stage, Da'ai Poet revealed a carefree smile and began to chant in her ethereal voice.
The four mentor judges frowned, their gazes wandering across the stage, their faces reflecting growing displeasure and impatience.
This seemingly weak overture was not what they wanted to hear.
However, in this moment when they hadn't quite figured out Lanchi's intentions, something unexpected happened.
Lanchi's left hand rested on the piano keys while his right hand produced magic cards one after another as if by magic, and he began to use them directly!
All of them were from the [Mistaken Cure] series, filled with healing and regenerative energies.
Without hesitation, Lanchi decisively and firmly channeled these healing magics with all his might onto Music Mentor Byande's mutated toxin body, a drastic cure for a deep-rooted illness!
Before anyone could react...
"Ahhhhh!!!""
Endless pain surged within Byande's mutated body, and he began to convulse violently, as if entangled by a frenzied serpent. His mouth emitted startling shrieks that reverberated throughout the theater, and the demon's roar tore through the air, instantly engulfing the entire auditorium.
Da'ai Poet's demonic melody echoed on the stage, her music like venomous snakes, piercing deep into Byande's ears. His cries grew more intense, and his pain was unleashed like a tidal wave, causing him to lose control of his rationality.
"What are you...!"
The presiding examiner's voice came from the side of the stage. He intended to stop Lanchi's actions but found that the magic eye had not reacted at all.
This surprised him, and he immediately realized that Lanchi was not casting offensive spells and had not inflicted any harm.
However, the following scene shattered the presiding examiner's calm.
Everything changed too quickly, so much so that none of the demons present could immediately comprehend the catastrophe unfolding before their eyes!
"Stop! Stop it!!"
"Spare me!!!""
Byande's voice wailed like a beast being torn apart in the night, his painful screams carrying the strongest mental attack capability that none of the demons present could match. All the students in the audience clutched their heads as if struck by a powerful electric current, trembling under the impact of this beyond-limit mental assault.
At that moment, on the stage, Da'ai Poet stood in the spotlight, singing to her heart's content. Her melodious voice drifted throughout the theater, contrasting sharply with Byande's wails.
But her sweet voice did not ease the situation; instead, it amplified tenfold the emotion of "bitterness" caused by the mental attack that Byande was inflicting on all the students.
The demon students couldn't take it anymore. Their wails echoed like ghosts throughout the classroom, and the mental states of all the demon students began to deteriorate, their eyes clouding with confusion and trembling as if they had all gone mad.
These new sounds, like venomous curses, started to influence and torment each other, causing the painful lament in the theater to be repeatedly stimulated and amplified.
The more tortured students transmitted their agony, and this suffering circulated among them, turning the theater into an instant hellish inferno!
Lanchi had only initially nudged a small pebble to set the entire classroom in motion, but what followed was an uncontrollable vicious cycle, like a boulder rolling down a mountain.
Weaker demons, like Bach, were already foaming at the mouth and convulsing in their seats. However, due to the intense pain, they were quickly awakened by the nightmare-like echoes reverberating through the theater, joining in the piercing cries.
Xiu Berrian tightly covered her ears, burying her head in her legs, and continuously recited prayers to the goddess.
If it weren't for her mental preparation to withstand Da'ai Poet's performance, she would have gone insane by now.
On one side of the stage, the originally graceful presiding teacher was petrified by the hellish scene. His confident expression turned deathly pale, and his once-straight posture wavered, his hand shaking violently as he braced himself against the wall, as if he might collapse at any moment.
His eyes were wide with terror, unable to believe what he was witnessing.
"What are you trying to do?"
The presiding teacher's voice was almost a shout, realizing the severity of the situation.
Lanchi, standing in the center of the stage, seemed not to hear.
He continued playing the music, even taking the time to explain physics concepts as if talking to himself.
"In nuclear fusion, when [temperature], [pressure], and [time] reach a certain level, the heat generated can sustain the temperature for new nuclear fusion to occur continuously. This state is called [self-sustaining combustion]."
His voice was calm and distant, like a poet reciting a verse.
Lanchi's mind was serene, as if the chaotic theater had no effect on him.
His eyes were fixed on the piano keys, and his ears were attuned only to the melody.
"What are you babbling about?!"
The presiding teacher's voice turned sharper.
He felt that Lanchi was speaking some incomprehensible, bizarre, and terrifying jargon!
"This is my learning outcome and the artistic concept of this performance," Lanchi explained earnestly.
Once self-sustaining combustion is achieved, nuclear fusion will continue even without any additional energy input.
He surveyed the theater, feeling that the [pressure] in this auditorium was sufficient.
There was still over a minute left of the allotted time for free use of magic.
If he could turn up the [temperature] during this time, he might be able to achieve [self-sustaining combustion].
At that point, even if Lanchi stopped playing and did nothing, or even recalled Da'ai Poet, this demon classroom would continue to be trapped in a perpetual motion death loop.
Until the four music mentors and all the demon students burned out and lost consciousness.
Only then would this hellish nuclear fusion of sound come to an end.
He believed that this performance, whether it was the emotional responses and cries of the demon students, the visual and auditory effects, or the eventual state of everyone sinking into a frenzied trance, perfectly met the requirements set by the four mentors beforehand.
"This should satisfy everyone, right?"
Lanchi looked around from the piano, observing the four music mentors in their state of ecstasy. He felt a sense of satisfaction with today's performance.
