Chapter 578: Successful Revival
Chapter 578: Successful Revival
Morningstar took the ring, her expression growing increasingly serious.
She cast the Soul Passage spell, creating a soul channel between the Ring of the Departed and the heads of the two dragons. Through this channel, Tao Qian and Jun Shiyi’s souls could smoothly enter the dragons’ brains.
Su Yu didn’t remain idle either.
While observing Morningstar’s spell, he activated all the concealment arrays in the cave to prevent the dragons outside from detecting what was happening inside.
Uninterrupted, Morningstar continued her spell with precision.
The soul channel gradually solidified, and the souls of the two elders began to slowly enter the passage.
However, the cave outside was becoming increasingly noisy.
...
Upon learning of the deaths of "Ilanicus" and "Valaris," thousands of dragons from various parts of the Dragon Island rushed over.
Ilanicus was a red dragon, and Valaris was a black dragon. The majority of the arriving dragons were from the white, red, and black dragon clans, including the leaders of the red and black dragon clans.
The dragon population was sparse, and the loss of any clan member was a significant blow, especially one of the sixth-tier, who were the backbone of their forces.
Thus, the dragons mourned with deep, sorrowful roars as they made their way to the site.
However, upon arriving and learning that the two clan members had not been properly buried but were instead sealed in a cave by the White Dragon Princess to be revived by a Skrull, they immediately voiced their objections.
"Koko, please don’t be reckless," the Black Dragon Clan Leader said sternly to his niece. "We are all deeply saddened by the deaths of Ilanicus and Valaris, and we too wish they could come back to life. But as the saying goes, ‘a dead dragon cannot be revived.’ There is no such thing as a resurrection spell. Open the cave and bury them properly now."
The Red Dragon Clan Leader chimed in, "Koko, how could a Skrull possibly know any resurrection spell? Even if Plante himself came, I doubt he could bring our clan members back to life, let alone someone named Drake. Koko, are you being deceived?"
"Please, Your Majesties, don’t be hasty," Princess Koko pleaded, blocking the cave entrance. "As the saying goes, ‘treat a dead dragon as if it were alive.’ Why not let Drake try? What if he succeeds? Even if there’s only a one in ten thousand chance, we can’t abandon our clan members."
Hearing Koko’s words, the two clan leaders exchanged glances, pondering their next move.
Scrier, standing behind the clan leaders, shook his head in concern.
"Our concern isn’t that, Koko. I like this Skrull named Drake, but I fear he might desecrate the bodies of Ilanicus and Valaris."
As all the dragons present turned their gaze toward him, Scrier continued, "To put it bluntly, what if Drake is a high-level thief? He could use this sealed environment to cut out valuable organs from Ilanicus and Valaris, such as their dragon teeth and hearts, and then use a special spell to escape once the seal is lifted. What would we do then?"
Scrier’s words made the Black Dragon Clan Leader and the Red Dragon Clan Leader nod in agreement, saying in unison, "That makes sense!"
Compared to the mystical resurrection spell, they found the explanation of a "high-level thief" more convincing.
This Skrull named "Drake" must be eyeing the value of the dragon corpses and is using the resurrection lie to deceive Koko!
Thinking this, they knew they couldn’t let the deceiver continue his antics.
"Move aside, Koko, we need to go in and take a look." The Black Dragon Clan Leader extended his dragon wings, attempting to push Koko aside. The Red Dragon Clan Leader began to channel a high-damage psychic spell, intending to blast the liar—er, the fraud—into oblivion.
However, Koko refused to budge.
She stood firmly at the entrance to the cave, her neck stiff as she declared, "No, I believe in Drake. I believe he's not a thief! You can't go in. I, the White Dragon Princess, will take full responsibility for whatever happens!"
Seeing the usually gentle Princess Koko so stubborn, the two clan leaders were taken aback.
But they didn't change their minds. In fact, they became even more resolute.
The Black Dragon Clan Leader, his face already dark, growled, "Koko, you're clearly under some kind of spell. Move aside now! I'm going in immediately!"
The Red Dragon Clan Leader chimed in, "Koko, your 'Princess' title comes from your mother. Do you think she would approve of this?"
Koko was momentarily speechless but remained steadfast, blocking the entrance.
Just as the situation grew more tense, a calm voice echoed from within the cave:
"Everyone, the resurrection ritual has been a complete success. 'Ilannikus' and 'Varestraz' have regained their vital signs. We need two red dragons to perform the final healing step. The stronger, the better."
Hearing Su Yu's voice, the valley where thousands of dragons were gathered fell into a brief silence.
Almost instantly, a deafening roar of dragon cries erupted outside the cave.
The dragons were so astonished that they nearly shook the valley apart:
"What? The resurrection was successful?"
"By the Dragon God, is this what they call a 'miracle'?"
"Unbelievable!"
"Just a moment ago, I was convinced this Skrul was a fraud. Now..."
"Clan Leader, Drake says he needs two red dragons for the final healing. You have the highest strength, please go in quickly!"
The Red Dragon Clan Leader was so shocked she couldn't speak.
A successful resurrection?!
Could it be that "Ilannikus" and "Varestraz" were just in a state of suspended animation, and Drake just happened to revive them?
But she didn't have time to think about it.
"Greta, come with me!" She called out to the strongest red dragon present, then rushed into the cave.
Inside, she found Drake and his pet Pichu casually leaning against the wall.
In the center of the cave, "Ilannikus" and "Varestraz" were breathing steadily, their hearts beating and blood flowing once more—clear signs of successful resurrection!
The Red Dragon Clan Leader was overjoyed.
She quickly called Greta to use the Red Dragon Clan's most powerful healing technique, "Flame of Life," on the two dragons lying on the ground.
The conical, flame-like "Flame of Life" erupted from their mouths, enveloping the dragons completely.
The Red Dragon "Ilannikus" and the Black Dragon "Varestraz" rapidly regained their vitality, their bodies reinvigorated by the "Flame of Life."
After two minutes, they finally stopped their healing breaths.
Red Dragon Ilannikus weakly lifted his head and managed a smile at the Red Dragon Clan Leader. "Your Majesty, your loyal servant Ilannikus is temporarily unable to serve by your side."
"Don't speak. Rest first. We'll discuss everything after you've recovered," the Red Dragon Clan Leader gently interrupted him.
