Chapter 578: Do You Think You're One Piece?
Chapter 578: Do You Think You're One Piece?
"Before? What do you mean?" Klah blinked, asking.
Feld the Hidden nodded. "I'm a time reverter who ate the Susu Devil Fruit. I can revert time to send people back to the past, though exactly which time period depends on how much power I use. I didn't have time to set specific destinations for them."
Time?
Revert?
Such Devil Fruits exist?
Klah's eyes widened. "There's actually such an ability?!"
"Don't underestimate the Grand Line", Feld the Hidden said with a smile. "In this world, no ability is too absurd to exist. But I can only go back to the past, not forward to the future."
"Then what exactly do you want?!" Klah demanded.
Feld shrugged. "A massive earthquake will destroy this archipelago in a few hours, reducing it to total destruction. I'm just trying to save lives. After all, the Residents here won't listen to me."
"I'm old now. The reason I came here was to return to this time after my adventure ended. I wanted to see the grandeur of the past again, to wander around a bit. The world ahead..."
He seemed to recall something, scratching his head. "Never mind. Better not to say. If I do, my ability might become invalid."
"So instead of fighting me, a dying man, why not gather the remaining Residents to avoid this catastrophe? Or let me handle it while I still have some power left. If you don't interfere, I could finish it. Earlier, I barely made an entire village disappear, but your arrival forced me to jump forward in time. That timeline never reached that village, so the villagers reappeared."
"When Lucius Kroofficer chased me before, I had to pull time forward ten minutes, then freeze it to get behind him and send him away. If you keep chasing me like this, many things will be too late."
Feld the Hidden continued, "So why not step aside? Right now, I just want to be a hero driven by interest. Saving lives counts as being a hero, right?"
"I don't care!" Lida shouted. "I need to see Kuro right now!"
...
At that moment, Kuro, who had been deep in thought, suddenly turned his gaze toward a direction.
"This aura... What's going on? Silvers Rayleigh?"
Kuro frowned. "No, this can't be right. Silvers Rayleigh isn't this strong, yet the aura matches his. What's happening?"
That old man shouldn't have such a powerful aura. Both his arms and legs had been severed by me. Even if healed, his aura shouldn't surpass its former strength.
But now, this aura was clearly far stronger than the Silvers Rayleigh he knew!
And besides this aura, there were several others to be wary of—each belonging to strong men no weaker than the current Silvers Rayleigh aura. One of them was approaching rapidly!
"Impossible. Is this old man here for revenge?"
Kuro muttered, "One Piece's subordinates must know countless old ghosts. Among them, there are certainly bewildered Devil Fruit users. Even if not, they'd have allies. Suppose someone healed him, restored his peak strength, and brought reinforcements. It's not impossible."
At this thought, Kuro's head throbbed.
This was exactly why he avoided provoking people from the Old Era.
Whether alive or dead, they always brought trouble.
After all, who doesn't have a few close friends?
Like Kuro himself—when he's in trouble, the Navy is his backbone, never letting opponents go unpunished.
Silvers Rayleigh must have similar connections.
Kuro exhaled a plume of smoke. "Recruiting more allies? Truly persistent bastards!"
In his perception, Silvers Rayleigh's aura remained still, but the other aura was rapidly closing in.
There were too many auras, all extremely dangerous.
Kuro was about to retreat upward to avoid the confrontation when suddenly a voice rang out beside him:
"Is it the Navy?!"
Kuro stiffened, turning to see a man in a red captain's coat with a thick mustache. The man scrutinized him. "So you're a young Navy brother? Did you come here to arrest me, knowing I'd land here?"
This aura wasn't detected earlier!
Meanwhile, the moving aura he sensed hadn't arrived yet.
How was this possible?
A person capable of hiding their aura?
"Silvers Rayleigh's old man must have sent help, and people like you", Kuro muttered, his right hand drifting to his hilt as he fixed a glare on the man.
"Silvers Rayleigh? Old man?"
The man laughed heartily. "Silvers Rayleigh's become an old man? Haha, that's amusing. But you do look young—and strong."
"Hey, captain!"
At that moment, a man with a ponytail sprinted over from a distance. "Your speed's too fast! Can't you wait for me?"
Kuro narrowed his eyes. The aura he sensed belonged to this man.
A strength rivaling the current Silvers Rayleigh.
He glanced toward the coastline. Silvers Rayleigh's aura, along with several others, remained motionless.
No residual energy approaching.
Had they lost their nerve? No, impossible.
Were they setting a trap? That was likely!
"Pirates, as shameless as ever", Kuro sneered. "So many of you want revenge on me, even setting traps? I'll crush your plans first!"
His figure suddenly blurred.
"Hey!" the man shouted.
Clang!
The ponytailed man swiftly drew two axes from his waist, swinging them backward just in time to block a Black Blade.
"I know!" he grinned maliciously at Kuro. "Brother, sneak attacks are bad manners."
Kuro had already unsheathed Autumn Water. With a sharp tsk, he suddenly surged forward, forcing the axes aside and pushing the opponent back half a step.
This man was dangerous. Since they wanted to trap him, he'd break through their plans first—eliminate one or two of them!
Even if he couldn't win, he could still escape.
But he wouldn't swallow this humiliation.
The Charlotte·Big Mom incident already enraged him. If they provoked him again, did they think he was made of clay?
"Amazing strength", the axes-wielding man chuckled, turning to the other. "Captain, this isn't me stealing your prey. He attacked me first."
"That won't do, Jaba", the captain-clad man said with a grin. "Since I'm bored, I'll handle this one."
Kuro, about to attack, suddenly froze.
"Jaba?" He stared at the ponytailed man, mocking. "What a name! Playing dress-up?"
"Brother", the captain approached. "Though you're strong, you can't arrest me alone. If you want me, send Garp and Sengoku!"
"Yoh!"
Kuro laughed mockingly. "You're full of yourself! Letting those two old men chase you? How big's your face? And this guy's called Jaba? Do you think you're One Piece?"
"Pirate King?"
The man laughed heartily. "Now that's a grand title indeed!"
