Chapter 577: The Champion
Chapter 577: The Champion
Madame Pomfrey, who was initially waiting at the Quidditch Stadium, rushed back upon receiving the news.
As soon as she entered, she hurried over to Harry.
Harry's appearance was truly pitiful, with his entire body covered in dirt and his once-fine robes now tattered like rags, resembling a mop. Blood was still flowing from his leg.
In contrast, Kyle's clothes were even cleaner than some of the professors, such as Professor Black and Professor Moody.
Madame Pomfrey even thought for a moment that Harry was the one who had ventured into the maze, while Kyle was merely a spectator.
However, adhering to her professional attitude, Madame Pomfrey still examined Kyle's body and gave him a potion to restore his energy.
Hmm... it tasted as awful as ever.
Ten minutes later, in the Hospital Wing.
Harry lay on the bed, his leg injury healed, and a new pair of glasses from Professor McGonagall rested on his face.
After Madame Pomfrey left, Sirius couldn't wait to ask, "What happened?"
Harry put down his hot cocoa and recounted the entire incident from the moment he was taken away.
Upon hearing Voldemort's unique resurrection method, everyone gasped in shock, unaware that such magic existed.
"I think I've heard of it," Professor Moody's magical eye spun rapidly.
"During the Middle Ages, someone invented an extremely evil ritual to resurrect the despicable Hepzibah Smith, and this must be it."
"So, is Voldemort really back?" Sirius asked.
"I don't know," Professor Moody shook his head. "Dumbledore will know when he returns. Oh, here he comes."
As they were speaking, the door to the Hospital Wing opened once more, and Dumbledore walked in from outside.
But at the sight of him, everyone's hearts sank.
Dumbledore seemed to have gone through a fierce battle; his complexion was grim, his robes were missing, and his left hand was charred black.
Only a few in the entire magical world could have left him in such a state.
Professor Moody's magical eye rotated, "Inferno?"
"Yes, I was caught off guard," Dumbledore raised his left hand and tapped it with his wand.
The blackened part of his hand began to fade, and soon it returned to its original state.
However, no one in the room seemed happy.
"So, it's really... the Dark Lord?" Sirius asked with a dry mouth.
"Perhaps it's hard for you to accept..." Dumbledore lifted his head. "Yes, he's back."
The Hospital Wing fell silent.
Dumbledore's words confirmed the authenticity of the news.
"Professor, didn't you kill him?" Harry asked anxiously.
"I'm sorry," Dumbledore shook his head. "Tom didn't intend to fight to the death there; he fled, just like he did over a decade ago."
"I have to admit, his escape methods are even stronger than before."
Dumbledore seemed to want to ease the tense atmosphere in the Hospital Wing, but the effect was less than ideal, as everyone appeared to have heavy hearts.
"Professor."
At this moment, Kyle spoke up, "Should I be heading to the Quidditch Stadium? The Triwizard Tournament isn't over yet, is it?"
"Yes, I was just about to say that," Dumbledore said.
"Millicent, Alastor, you should also return quickly. No matter what happens next, the tournament must continue."
Professor McGonagall and Professor Moody nodded and left the Hospital Wing one after the other.
Sirius and Snape didn't mind, but since Dumbledore's Patronus had informed them of the situation, they wouldn't have left the maze otherwise.
Now that Kyle and Harry were back, they naturally had to return.
After leaving the Hospital Wing, Professor McGonagall immediately transformed into a tabby cat and ran towards the Quidditch Stadium, while Professor Moody's figure gradually disappeared.
"Oh, and this."
Once the two of them left, Dumbledore took out a trophy.
"You left it on the mountain top. Without the trophy, your championship doesn't count."
"Should I take it there?" Kyle asked.
"Although that's possible, I have a better way to make the competition seem more reasonable."
Dumbledore tapped the trophy with his wand. "Mentos!"
He continued, "I'm going back now. The time is five minutes, and then just place your hand on it... We'll see each other later."
After saying this, Dumbledore also left.
The Hospital Wing was left with only Kyle, Harry, Kyle, Harry, and the two arch-rivals, Sirius and Snape.

Apparently, even the news of Voldemort's resurgence couldn't temporarily ease the hatred they had for each other.
"Snot-nose, aren't you going to inform your master about Harry's whereabouts?" Sirius taunted, "Tell him that Harry is right here, at Hogwarts!"
Snape, for once, didn't speak. He stared coldly at Sirius, then his gaze lingered on Kyle for a moment before he stood up and followed Dumbledore, leaving as well.
"I really don't understand why Headmaster Dumbledore is still keeping you here at this time!" Sirius deliberately spoke loudly.
Snape heard this but didn't stop.
Only after he completely disappeared at the corner of the corridor did Sirius look towards Harry.
"Remember, stay away from Snape and never be alone with him."
Harry was a bit puzzled but still nodded. After all, he had been doing the same before.
Then he looked at Kyle and the Triwizard Cup on the ground.
"Congratulations on winning the Triwizard Tournament. I knew it would be you."
Harry had witnessed Kyle's abilities more than once, especially ten minutes ago... the giant dragon made of flames.
Although he didn't know what spell it was, that terrifying sense of oppression still made Harry feel his heart race even when recalling it now.
"Thank you. We'll see each other later." Kyle said, "I think Professor Dumbledore will have some more questions for us."
"I know." Harry said.
If he didn't guess wrong, the words he said to Professor McGonagall earlier would need to be repeated.
When the time was almost up, Kyle approached the Triwizard Cup, grabbed the side of the trophy, and the scene in front of him instantly changed.
Kyle felt himself immersed in a series of sounds, with cheers and fireworks exploding all around him.
He returned to the edge of the maze, and everyone around was shouting his name.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the Triwizard Tournament champion has been decided!" Ludo Bagman's voice came from the commentator's booth.
His voice was soft, and he seemed a bit distracted... But no one minded this as everyone was enthusiastically cheering.
Kyle raised the Triwizard Cup in his hand, and the voices around him instantly grew louder.
He looked towards the audience, and Dumbledore had changed into a new set of robes, smiling and clapping. However, he was standing where Kakaroff had been before, and Cornelius Fudge now occupied Dumbledore's original seat.
The Minister of Magic came as well? He really loves to join the fun.
Kyle shifted his gaze and quickly spotted Connie in the stands.
She waved her hands, jumping and cheering excitedly, while Fred and George Weasley were busy setting off fireworks, and Cedric, waving a Hufflepuff badger flag, was beside them.
