Chapter 573: My Student
Chapter 573: My Student
Meanwhile, Kyle, who was still in the maze, had no idea what the spectators outside were thinking.
After the hedges blocking his view disappeared, he too saw the cup at the end of the flames.
The next second, Kyle immediately ran towards it.
A Sphinx crouched at the edge of the flames, its original task was to stop the warriors and ask them questions. But when Kyle passed by, it suddenly took a keen interest in a stone on the ground, lowering its head and pretending not to see anything.
Kyle smoothly reached the cup and without hesitation, he grabbed the cup's sparkling handle.
However, Kyle did not pick up the cup. He felt as if his entire body had been pulled, accompanied by a tremendous force of attraction, and his feet also left the ground.
As expected, it was a key, Kyle was delighted and did not struggle, allowing the cup to carry him forward through the howling wind and swirling colors.
...
It was unknown how long had passed, perhaps a minute or just a fleeting moment, Kyle felt himself standing on the ground again.
This place was completely outside the realm of Hogwarts, surrounded by darkness, and in his line of sight, he could see a cluster of pointed roofs, seemingly on top of a hill.
"Quick, run... Run!"
Before Kyle could take a closer look, he heard a panting scream... The voice sounded somewhat familiar.
Kyle looked up and saw Harry lying on the ground, his leg seemed injured, and he was using his arms to support himself as he desperately crawled towards Kyle.
"It's Voldemort..." Harry cried out in pain, "He's resurrected, and there are Death Eaters, they..."
Well, in fact, Harry's reminder was unnecessary, because in the instant Kyle appeared, he was already surrounded by several people wearing black hoods and masks.
"Oh, look who it is..." A hoarse voice came from behind.
The hooded figures immediately made way, respectfully like servants.
Behind the crowd, a person wearing the same black cloak but without a mask stepped forward.
Tall and thin, paler than a skeleton, with red eyes.
And, he had no nose... only two thin slits like a snake... This feature was too obvious.
Voldemort.
"My student, is this how you greet your professor?" Voldemort was in a good mood and lazily said, "I thought you would be so excited that you would scream."
"Nonsense, you are not my professor," Kyle immediately refuted.
Harry was still beside him, and he did not want to take the blame.
"How heartless," Voldemort looked at him, "When you asked me about immortality, you didn't have this attitude."
"What immortality? I don't understand what you're talking about."
"Don't admit it? It doesn't matter," Voldemort toyed with the tip of his wand.
"You must all be very curious..." He said to the surrounding Death Eaters:
"A few years ago, with Quirrell's help, I returned to Hogwarts, and what a humiliating time that was. I could only exist like a parasite, attached to that fool's head, because the one I trusted the most... Not a single one of you tried to find me."
Although he seemed to be smiling, his tone was as cold as an ice block.
The surrounding Death Eaters immediately lowered their heads and knelt on the ground, begging for Voldemort's forgiveness while explaining themselves.
Only one person, with a missing arm, pale skin, and freckles on his face, held his head high.
"At that time, a boy was the first to discover my existence."
Voldemort did not even glance at those kneeling and continued, "That clever boy caused me quite a bit of trouble. He seemed to know a lot and was very courageous, even daring to threaten the Dark Lord..."
Voldemort's eyes fixed on Kyle.
"I thought it would take some time before I could see you again, my student... I didn't expect you to appear so soon. Are you here to celebrate my rebirth?"
"If that's the case, then I love this gift!"
"It's me, Master, it's me..."
A Death Eater crawled forward on his knees, "I turned the Triwizard Cup into a key... and brought him here. He's one of the champions."
"Oh, Karkaroff," Voldemort glanced at him, "I thought that you, a cowardly and weak traitor, would flee as soon as you heard of my resurrection."
"Master, I would never betray you," Karkaroff buried his head even lower, his entire body sticking to the ground.
"I was just lying low, ready to welcome your arrival... Oh, and that Harry Potter, he's the one I captured."
"Oh?" Voldemort turned to the only person not kneeling on the ground, "Barty, is it?"
"He was just too scared, so he had no choice but to agree to help," Barty Crouch Jr. sneered.
Although he said this, he was also indirectly acknowledging Karkaroff's contribution.
How strange...
Kyle furrowed his brows. Barty Crouch Jr.'s identity as a Death Eater was revealed by Karkaroff, yet instead of kicking him while he was down, he was speaking up for him...
Are Death Eaters this forgiving? But now wasn't the time for Kyle to think further.
"Capture him..." Voldemort suddenly shouted, "I want him alive!"
The surrounding Death Eaters immediately sprang into action, but Kyle's movements were faster than theirs.
A roaring dragon burst out from his wand, swallowing the fastest-running Death Eater in the blink of an eye.
The man's screams lasted less than a second before they completely subsided.
The correct version is in Book 69! 6=9+Book_Bar Original Novel.
"This is Inferno!" someone screamed.
The other Death Eaters also instinctively backed away, and even with their masks on, their confusion was palpable.
Isn't this just a student?
Shouldn't he be using spells like the Destruction Charm or the Disarming Charm?
Who is this student who can cast Inferno with a mere wave of his hand, and with such proficiency at that!
Everyone looked at the lifelike dragon raging in the sky, and simultaneously recalled Voldemort's first words upon seeing this person.
"My student..."
Well, okay, that explains it.
"A bunch of idiots!" Voldemort shrieked.
He merely lifted the wand in his hand, and instantly extinguished the dragon composed of Inferno.
But this brief moment was enough.
When the Death Eaters looked at Kyle again, they noticed that he now held a golden feather and an inconspicuous bead in his hand, seemingly appearing out of nowhere.
Almost instinctively, Voldemort felt a sense of panic.
"Quick, stop him..."
"Crack!"
Before he could finish speaking, Kyle simultaneously crushed the two items in his hand.
The next second, this not-so-large hilltop was enveloped in a thick fog.
The fog blocked everyone's vision, and the Death Eaters rushing towards Kyle lost their target and collided with each other.
"Bang..."
"What's happening..."
"I've got him, Master... I've got him!"
The Death Eaters were in disarray, and one of them even grabbed Voldemort as he ran by, pinching his nose...
"Avada..."
The next second, a flash of green light vanished into the fog.]
"Useless, a bunch of idiots!" Voldemort fumed in anger.
This fog appeared too suddenly, and even he was caught off guard for a moment.
