Chapter 573: It's Just Two Dung Balls, Right? Is It Worth Holding a Grudge for So Long?
Chapter 573: It's Just Two Dung Balls, Right? Is It Worth Holding a Grudge for So Long?
Harry’s words left everyone in the room stunned, and Hermione covered her mouth in shock as she stared at him.
"Who? Did you see who it was clearly?" Dumbledore’s expression remained calm as he asked.
"It was an old man, who looked like a Muggle. He was eavesdropping on Peter and Voldemort’s conversation outside the door, and then he was discovered," Harry panted, his body trembling slightly. "Voldemort personally used the Killing Curse to finish him off!"
Dumbledore fell into deep thought, his left index finger tapping the desk rhythmically, creating a soft sound.
The spacious Headmaster's Office was filled with a heavy pressure. Hermione and Ron were both shaken by Harry’s dream. If Voldemort could cast spells freely, it would mean that the Dark Lord had indeed returned.
"Professors, do you think this was just a dream?" Harry couldn’t bear the increasingly heavy atmosphere in the Headmaster's Office and couldn’t help but ask.
"No, I believe it might be real!" Dumbledore shook his head, his expression serious. He looked at Harry and continued, "Voldemort must be planning something, and it’s clear that it involves you!"
With Dumbledore’s confirmation, Harry and the others felt a mix of fear and unease. The news of Voldemort’s resurrection was too much for them to handle.
Ivan, on the surface, maintained a grave expression, but inwardly, he was unperturbed.
He knew that Voldemort hadn’t truly resurrected; he had only gained a baby-like body with Peter’s help, and was still very weak, unable to move on his own.
However, Harry’s words also revealed another crucial piece of information: Voldemort’s seventh Horcrux, the snake Nagini, had been successfully created.
In other words, the remaining Horcruxes had increased to three.
Thinking about this, Ivan subtly glanced at Harry.
The Hufflepuff’s Cup hidden in Gringotts and Nagini, who was always by Voldemort’s side, were both heavily protected, but with the right methods, they could be destroyed.
However, Harry’s Horcrux was particularly troublesome.
In the original timeline, Voldemort’s own destruction of the Horcruxes had a significant degree of uncertainty and randomness, which Ivan found unreliable.
The other options were either to research Horcruxes to find a way to separate the soul, or to kill Harry, the Horcrux host.
As Ivan pondered, Dumbledore noticed the serious expressions on everyone’s faces and spoke to reassure them.
"Don’t worry too much, Harry! Based on what you saw in your dream, I think Voldemort hasn’t fully regained his strength. Otherwise, he would have already gathered his followers instead of hiding with Peter somewhere!"
Dumbledore’s gentle words seemed to have a magical effect, calming Harry and the others, helping them to regain their composure.
"Do you remember any more specific details?" Dumbledore looked at Harry and asked again.
Harry tried his best to recall, but he ultimately shook his head in disappointment. He simply couldn’t remember anything more.
"Don’t rush it, you can take your time," Dumbledore said, his voice becoming soothing as he gazed into Harry’s eyes.
Harry noticed a certain light in Dumbledore's eyes, and his mind began to feel drowsy. He felt as though he was falling back into that dream, where he transformed into a crawling snake.
Legilimency
Ivan immediately realized what was happening and quickly employed Occlumency. He then realized that Dumbledore had no hostile intentions towards him and relaxed.
Compared to the previous subtle casting, this time Dumbledore's actions were more obvious.
But it made sense. The current situation was far more dire than in the original timeline. Dumbledore was in a comprehensive disadvantage, on the brink of death, while Voldemort was about to regain his strength and return.
At this critical juncture, every piece of information about Voldemort was crucial, potentially determining the final outcome!
Ivan also wanted to know if Harry's dream contained any vital information, his gaze shifting between Dumbledore and Harry.
Harry seemed to be lost in his memories, while a hint of surprise and delight flickered across Dumbledore's face.
Unfortunately, this emotional change lasted only a moment. When Ivan looked again, Dumbledore's expression had returned to its usual calm, making Ivan wonder if he had imagined it.
Before Ivan could dwell on it, Harry snapped out of his drowsy state and shouted loudly.
"I remember! A witch named Bertha Jorkins has gone missing, and it was Peter who did it! They also plan to find another servant and figure out a way to get rid of me!"
Harry spoke hurriedly, as if he would forget the buried memories if he slowed down. He then turned to Ivan and added, "And they mentioned you too, Ivan!"
"Me?" Ivan pointed at himself, surprised.
Harry nodded, recalling, "Yes! Voldemort was very angry when he mentioned you! But I was too far away to hear what they said!"
Ivan furrowed his brow. Being on Voldemort's bad side was not good news.
Ivan gained a new understanding of the Dark Lord's vindictiveness. Before his true resurrection, the connection between the main body and the Horcrux was weak. In the original timeline, Voldemort only confirmed the destruction of the Horcrux Diary from Lucius Malfoy.
Apart from the Horcrux, Ivan didn't think he had done much to provoke Voldemort, perhaps just those two foul eggs.
But... to hold a grudge for so long?
Harry was still recalling various details, useful or not, describing the room's decor in great detail. He spoke for several minutes until his voice became hoarse and he could no longer extract any more clues.
"That's all I know, Professors!" Harry panted, his voice dry.
"You did very well, Harry! This will be a very useful piece of information!" Dumbledore looked at Harry with approval and said gently.
"What should we do next?" Harry asked eagerly, desperate to take action after learning that Voldemort was planning against him.
"Hmm... let me think for a moment," Dumbledore considered, then glanced at the clock on the wall, as if a thought had just occurred to him.
"Ah, right! It's almost time for dinner... I think the most important thing you should do is go to the Great Hall and have a good meal, then rest well..."
