Chapter 572: I Saw Them Kill Someone in That Room!
Chapter 572: I Saw Them Kill Someone in That Room!
Ivan's brows furrowed as he thought about Trelawney's Prophecy, which undoubtedly indicated that Voldemort was currently planning his resurrection.
However, the process might not go as smoothly as he had imagined.
Beside him, Harry seemed lost in thought. He gently touched the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead, recalling the dream he had during the summer.
"Harry."
A voice broke Harry's reverie, and he turned to see Ivan looking at him with concern.
Hermione and Ron also noticed Harry's unusual demeanor and stopped their argument to look over.
"Is something bothering you, Harry? Is it related to the Dark Lord?" Ivan asked.
Harry hesitated, unsure whether he should speak up.
"There are some things I think you shouldn't keep to yourself. We are friends, right? Maybe we can help," Ivan said gently, trying to reassure him.
Ivan realized that Mad-Eye Moody's question had highlighted how his knowledge of the plot was becoming less advantageous. If he didn't want to be caught off guard, he needed to find new clues. Harry was a good starting point. If Ivan's memory served him right, Harry had dreamed about the events at the Riddle House during the summer in the original timeline.
As Ivan had suspected, Harry hesitated before speaking.
"About two weeks ago, I had a strange dream. I saw a dark room with a fireplace. Through the door, I heard people talking. One of them was a short man, who I think was Peter. The other voice sounded like Voldemort's."
"What? You saw Peter and heard the Dark Lord speaking?" Hermione interjected, her eyes wide with shock.
"It was just a dream, right? Anything can happen in a dream, so it's not that strange!" Ron argued before Harry could respond.
"No, this time it felt different," Harry shook his head and touched his scar again. "When I woke up, my scar hurt a lot. The last time it hurt like this was when I faced Voldemort a few years ago."
"Really? You're sure?" Ron's eyes widened in disbelief. He opened his mouth to say something but then closed it, swallowing his words.
"This must be some kind of omen!" Hermione said firmly. "I read in a Divination textbook that some Wizards can sense when their loved ones or friends are in danger. Dreams are one of the most common ways this happens."
"You mean Harry and the Dark Lord are relatives or friends? Come on, that's ridiculous!" Ron scoffed, finding Divination textbooks unreliable and full of nonsense.
"But they are enemies in the Prophecy! That's a connection, isn't it?" Hermione cut Ron off, then grabbed Ivan's hand with one hand and Harry's with the other, dragging them toward the Headmaster's Office. "We need to tell Professor Dumbledore right away!"
"Wait for me!" Ron hesitated for a moment but then followed.
After running for a while, the four of them arrived at the Headmaster's Office, panting heavily. They were taken aback, however, because they didn't know the password to enter.
After giving it some thought, Hermione tentatively spoke up.
"Cockroach Clusters"
"Ice Cold Lemonade"
"Fudge Fingers?"
The massive stone gargoyle remained unmoving, stubbornly blocking their path.
"What about Fizzing Whizbees?" Ivan suggested, knowing it was one of Dumbledore's favorite sweets.
With a dull click, the stone gargoyle began to vibrate and slowly moved aside, revealing the staircase leading up.
"Let's go. Looks like we're in luck!" Ivan smiled and stepped forward.
As they climbed the stairs, Harry and Ron couldn't help but ask, "How did you know that would work?"
"Because Professor Dumbledore often uses candies and drinks he likes as the passwords!" Hermione explained, then glanced at Ivan. She had recalled how Ivan had guessed the password to the Headmaster's Office last time, which led her to this idea.
They chatted casually as they quickly entered the Headmaster's Office. After several days, everything remained the same, except for the stack of papers and newspapers on the central desk.
Ivan sneaked a peek as he approached. Besides a few copies of the Daily Prophet, the rest seemed to be related to the Triwizard Cup.
"Hals, what brings you here today?" Dumbledore calmly flipped the documents over to cover them, his eyes behind his half-moon glasses scanning Ivan and the others as he asked.
"Professors, it's like this. I had a very strange dream during the summer..." Harry took a deep breath and recounted everything he had told Ivan and the others.
As Harry described the scenes he had seen in his dream, Dumbledore's expression grew increasingly grave. He knew exactly what it meant: Voldemort's power was resurging, allowing him to establish a connection with his Horcrux.
"How did you see that scene?" Dumbledore suddenly asked.
Dumbledore's serious demeanor made Harry feel nervous. He swallowed hard and stammered, "I think I was lying on the ground, looking up, Professors!"
Crawling on the ground, moving forward, like... a snake!
This thought flashed through Harry's mind, but he didn't say it aloud because it was too bizarre!
Listening to Harry's response, Dumbledore's furrowed brow eased slightly. He leaned forward, his eyes level with Harry's, and asked in a calm tone, "Do you remember what they said in the dream?"
Ivan also watched Harry closely, needing to know if the content of the dream had changed to predict Voldemort's next move.
"They mentioned the Quidditch World Cup, a person named Nagini, and me," Harry tried hard to recall the details.
However, it had been over two weeks since the dream, and his memory was hazy, like a veil had been drawn over it. The more he tried to grasp the details, the faster they slipped away through his fingers.
All that remained were the most vivid scenes, and Harry's face grew increasingly pale, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. The lightning-shaped scar on his forehead began to throb faintly.
Finally, Harry almost shouted, "I saw them kill someone in that room!"
