Chapter 57: Chaos
Chapter 57: Chaos
When Flender returned to Shrek Academy with the two girls, he was also taken aback by the scene before him.
The once spotless ground was now littered with the remnants of a fierce battle.
Dai Mubai lay in Oscar's arms, his body covered in blood, while Oscar chanted ambiguous incantations and fed Dai Mubai sausage after sausage.
Yuxiao's student, Tang San, held the unconscious girl, Xiao Wu, in his arms, repeatedly murmuring apologies: "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have let you fight."
Shaoxin knelt beside Tang San and Xiao Wu, feeding her healing beans one by one.
Zhao Wuji stood helplessly between the two, watching the farce unfold.
Without hesitation, Flender rushed over to Dai Mubai's side.
Seeing Dai Mubai's body oozing blood from countless wounds, Flender reached out to examine him.
What he found caused his eyebrows to twitch.
"Shaoxin, can't you see that Dai Mubai's condition is more critical? That girl clearly just fainted!" Flender exclaimed.
Hearing Flender's words, Shaoxin looked a little guilty. Just as he prepared to get up and approach Flender, Tang San, who had been holding Xiao Wu, suddenly grabbed his arm.
"You can't go. Xiao Wu hasn't woken up yet!" Tang San said firmly.
Shaoxin gave Flender an helpless smile.
Frowning, Flender said, "Nonsense! Dai Mubai is on the verge of death, while that little girl is just unconscious and breathing steadily. Shaoxin, what are you waiting for?"
Upon receiving Flender's order, Shaoxin struggled free from Tang San's grasp and moved towards Dai Mubai.
Whoosh!
A piercing sound tore through the air.
Shaoxin, who had been sorrowful just a moment ago, now cried out in pain as he clutched his waist. He pulled out a small, 20-centimeter-long arrow that had been embedded there.
The arrow was coated in a layer of black blood, and the sight of it caused Shaoxin's expression to change drastically.
"Wake Xiao Wu up first. I'll give you the antidote after she wakes up," Tang San said coldly, not even bothering to lift his head from the Zhuge God Crossbow in his hands.
"Didn't you hear me? Dai Mubai is dying, and the girl in your arms is just unconscious!" Flender said sternly.
"He's just dying, but my Xiao Wu is unconscious!" Tang San retorted without thinking.
Flender was so exasperated that he laughed. In an instant, he was by Tang San's side, injecting a stream of soul power into Xiao Wu's body.
Xiao Wu, who had been unconscious, suddenly cried out in pain. Hearing her cry, Tang San's heart twisted painfully.
Instinctively, he reached for the 'Twenty-four Bridges of Mingyue Night' at his waist, but someone was faster than him.
Flender directly removed the storage-type soul guide device from Tang San's waist and emptied its contents.
Flying knives, needles, assembly tools, and poisons—these items clattered to the ground in a noisy heap.
Seeing these, Flender's eyebrows twitched uncontrollably, and he glanced at the ground where the two had just fought.
The ground was littered with similar flying knives and nails, and there were quite a few of them left in the soul guide device.
Finally, among the twenty-four jade stones and their respective spaces, Flender found what looked like antidotes.
He put the antidotes away and returned the original contents to the device.
Tossing the soul guide device back to Tang San, Flender casually said, "Back in the day, when I was adventuring across the continent with your master, I became very familiar with this soul guide device of his."
Hearing this, Tang San pursed his lips. Noticing that Xiao Wu had woken up, he gently patted her head.
"Xiao Wu, you must never be so reckless again," he said.
Xiao Wu, now awake, pouted and looked a little disappointed.
"Little San, what did you feed me? It was so sweet. I want more," she said.
Hearing Xiao Wu's request, Tang San instinctively looked at Shaoxin, the Soul Saint whose martial soul was sugar beans.
Noticing Tang San's gaze, Shaoxin frowned and let out a soft hum, ignoring Tang San's murderous look.
With Xiao Wu awake, Tang San regained some of his composure. He no longer insisted on the sugar beans and simply stroked Xiao Wu's head gently.
"Xiao Wu, be a good girl. Let's not eat those anymore. We'll go out and get something delicious to eat, okay?"
If it weren't for the fact that this was Yu Xiaogang's student, and considering how badly injured Dai Mubai was, Flender would have definitely made sure to teach the other party a lesson.
"Senior, if my teacher comes, please tell him that I might be working at the blacksmith's shop in Soto City. As long as he goes to the blacksmith's shop, he will definitely be able to find me."
He truly couldn't bear to stay in Shrek Academy any longer. He just hoped that when his teacher arrived, he would agree to let him go to Tianwu Academy.
He couldn't stand the way the teachers here bullied others with their power.
Flender didn't try to keep him either. Compared to this student of Yu Xiaogang, he was more concerned about Dai Mubai.
"Hey, are you two little girls planning to join our academy?"
Zhao Wuji appraised the two girls that Flender had just brought back with interest: one had overly developed curves for her age, while the other was plain but carried an air of nobility.
The two girls didn't seem like ordinary people.
"I'm here to find someone, and at the same time, I want to ask him some questions."
The girl in black glanced at Dai Mubai, who was currently lying there unconscious, and shook her head with a complicated expression.
"He's probably not in any condition to answer me right now, but it doesn't matter. I already know the answer."
Zhao Wuji looked at Dai Mubai, then at the girl in black, stroking his chin as he asked tentatively, "What's your martial soul?"
The girl in black withdrew her gaze from Dai Mubai and turned to leave.
"My martial soul is the Umbra Shadow Cat. If he wakes up, just tell him about my martial soul.
If he wants to find me, he can go to Tianwu Academy. If he doesn't go, it means he has completely given up."
Leaving behind these words, the girl in black strode away.
Zhao Wuji then turned his attention to the mischievous-looking girl.
"What about you? Are you here to find someone or do you plan to become a student here?"
The mischievous girl stroked her chin and glanced at the mess on the ground and the guy who kept sneaking glances at her. After a moment's thought, she nodded lightly.
"I've decided to stay here, on the condition that you dare to accept me."
The girl revealed her martial soul: the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda.
Seeing the girl's martial soul, Zhao Wuji was taken aback and shot a questioning glance at Flender.
Flender was also surprised to see the girl's martial soul and nodded slightly.
"As long as your family agrees, you can stay."
Hearing this, the girl pouted and said arrogantly, "You only accept students here, right? Why bother with so many conditions?"
Flender didn't know what to say either, and seeing Oscar, who was about to pop his eyes out, Flender glared at him.
"Flender, take this new student to the student dormitory and help her choose a room."
Hearing Flender's arrangement, Oscar quickly stood up and ran to the girl's side.
"Hello, my name is Oscar. I have innate full soul power, and my current soul power is at the 29th level."
Ning Rongrong smiled, and her eyes narrowed as she held out her hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Ning Rongrong. Please take care of me from now on."
Seeing the girl reaching out to him, Oscar was a little flustered and subconsciously reached out as well. But when he saw the grease on his hands, he quickly withdrew his hand before Ning Rongrong could shake it and wiped it on his clothes.
Only then did he dare to reach out again.
Just as he was about to shake her hand, a cheerful young man's voice rang out from a distance.
"Rongrong, what are you doing here? If it weren't for the informant from Soto City, I would have probably waited there for a whole week!"
Hearing this voice, Ning Rongrong's expression changed, and she pushed Oscar away.
"Block him for a while. I need to hide!"
After pushing Oscar away, Ning Rongrong quickly ran deeper into the academy. In order to move faster, she even activated her second soul skill.
Oscar, who had been pushed away, was also taken aback and instinctively looked towards the direction of the academy's entrance.
His eyes widened in shock as he saw a carriage that was all too familiar to the students of Shrek Academy.
