Chapter 564: What is 0?
Chapter 564: What is 0?
As he watched the distant figure of Leon, who on the surface seemed regretful but was secretly winking and making faces at him, Prince Andre felt his mind go blank with a resounding 'bang'. It was as if something within him had been utterly shattered.
Andre, who had seen and experienced much, was shocked to discover that someone could speak not a single curse word, yet with a playful smile and casual jests, could pierce another's heart with a thousand wounds.
In Prince Andre's heart, the 'Royal Night Banquet' was once his softest sanctuary, an ideal place to escape the cruel reality. But when he chose to temporarily include Leon in this painting, it became horribly polluted, transforming from a paradise into a hellish torture.
Whether it was the initial 'Clown Theory' or the anecdotes about 'Senior Andre', each felt like a transparent knife, stabbing and twisting painfully within his body. Every cut left an indelible mark.
This damn bastard! He clenched his teeth, gazing at Felicia, who was being carried out of the painting by the Guard Leader. Andre took a deep breath, ready to leave, but...
"Oh, right."
After glancing at Felicia, who had also been escorted out of the painting, Leon, standing in the open space of the platform, took a bite of his apple and continued to address the guests with a cheerful smile.
"Speaking of Senior Andre, I just remembered something interesting."
Again?! Hearing Leon's opening, the young prince shuddered, knowing that this was undoubtedly aimed at him. Without hesitation, he closed his eyes and retreated from the painting.
Leon, whose gaze had been fixed on the young prince, immediately noticed his unusual behavior. He paused, ready to tell a hellish joke, and took off the 'Clown Mime' badge, replacing it with the 'Corlock Royal Family' badge.
"Clatter!"
In the instant the two badges were switched, the colorful paints on Leon's body twisted strangely, as if they were trying to form a new identity based on Leon's, began to twist strangely. However, nothing seemed to fit, and eventually, with a clatter, the paints dripped down, staining the grass beneath his feet.
His guess was right; the 'identity' brought about by his badge had higher permissions than the identity Andre had painted for him.
Taking advantage of the moment when Andre was being berated and left, Leon confirmed his suspicions and breathed a sigh of relief. He then reached for the balloon hanging at his waist.
In the midst of the guests' bewildered stares, Leon, having shed his clown identity, grabbed the 'Silver Slicer' and vigorously wiped it clean, restoring it to its original form.
"What are you doing again?!"
Seeing Leon pull out the knife again, the Guard Leader, who had just returned Felicia to her 'home', rushed over, taking two steps in one stride. He blocked Leon, glaring at him with anger.
"You..."
"I'm a guest!" Leon, now adorned with the Corlock Royal Family identity, straightened his back and glared back.
"Isn't this the Royal Night Banquet? Can't a royal family member attend?"
Upon hearing Leon's words, the Guard Leader laughed in anger and retorted, "You, a mere trickster, dare to impersonate... Huh?"
As he spoke, the Guard Leader paused momentarily, confusion clouding his eyes.
The person before him had the same eyes and attire as before, still soaked from the pool, but for some reason, the Guard Leader felt that he, too, was a member of the royal family...
"Move, move, don't block my way!"
Realizing that the Corlock Royal Family badge was effective even within the painting, Leon completely relaxed. He pushed the bewildered Guard Leader aside and, under the watchful eyes of the equally confused guests, approached the sleeping Scorpion Director at the table.
"Smack! Smack!"
After lifting the Scorpion Chief up, Lyon smacked him with two vigorous ear-scraping slaps, one on each side.
"Wake up! Stop sleeping like a damn fool!"
"Smack! Smack!"
"Get up and help me!"
"Smack! Smack!"
"Hurry up! While Andre is away, quickly take me out of this painting!"
However, the Scorpion Chief seemed to be in a deep slumber, sleeping so soundly that no matter how Lyon shook him, he remained fast asleep. Even when Lyon kicked him in the groin, he continued to snore peacefully, one snore after another, creating a rhythmic symphony that contrasted with the smacking sounds of the slaps.
Damn it! You're never reliable at critical moments!
After a futile attempt at slapping him, Lyon saw that the Scorpion Chief's face had turned red, and his complexion seemed to have improved. He sighed, temporarily giving up on waking him and instead planning to take on the situation alone.
Although the Scorpion Chief was skilled, he seemed to have a strange curse where he would die whenever he performed well. Despite having excellent equipment, he always got caught off guard during team fights.
The last time they ventured into the Abyss of Lost Souls, he had the same problem. Lyon thought he could rely on him, but he was immediately dragged away by six Nightmare Messengers. In the dream realm created by the messengers, he was trapped and couldn't escape.
This time was even worse. Previously, they had camped out in the "eye" of the enemy, and he had directly led three teammates to their deaths. Now, he had completely disconnected and was AFK, making the situation worse than if they had an actor in their place.
"Excuse me."
Just as Lyon was hesitating, holding the silver slicer and wondering if he should stab the Scorpion Chief to test his reaction, a voice, unfamiliar yet with a hint of familiarity, suddenly sounded in his ear.
When Lyon turned around, he saw a young woman with thick-rimmed glasses, holding a brain model filled with tubes, standing behind him. She looked at him curiously and asked, "Have we met somewhere before?"
"You are..."
"I'm a scholar from Zone 1."
Looking at the unfamiliar yet strangely familiar woman before him, Lyon noticed that she bore a strong resemblance to the old king, and her features were similar to Felicia's. Holding the brain model, the bespectacled woman adjusted her glasses and asked uncertainly, "Have you been to Zone 1? Or attended any academic conferences related to brain function dissection in the past five years? Or perhaps visited the Soul Encoding Group that I lead?"
Soul Encoding Group? Led by you?
At this point, Lyon's eyebrows twitched slightly, and he immediately guessed the identity of the bespectacled woman.
"You're Adyphi Zero?"
"Huh?"
The bespectacled woman was taken aback, then nodded with a hint of surprise, "Yes, I am Adyphi, that's right... Have you been to Zone 1? Or attended any academic conferences related to brain function dissection in the past five years? Or perhaps visited the Soul Encoding Group that I lead?"
"So, your real name is Adyphi?"
"Yes..."
Looking at the man before her, who seemed to recognize her but also seemed unsure, the bespectacled woman asked with confusion, "Do you really know me or not?"
"I know you, of course!"
After glancing at Adyphi's body, which had slight differences from the other "characters," indicating that the paint was also added later, Lyon nodded with deep meaning.
"Even though you might have forgotten, our relationship is actually very good!"
