Chapter 562: The Lever (Third Update)
Chapter 562: The Lever (Third Update)
"I see you're looking for death!"
Their true identities could never be revealed, so the only option was to make Jerry silent forever.
Without a word, the group of over a dozen individuals raised their wands, ready to cast their most powerful spells.
However, as their hands rose, a blue light shot from Jerry's side, moving at a speed they couldn't react to, disarming them all and sending their wands flying.
It was Jerry who had preemptively cast the Disarming Charm, disarming all of them.
Seeing their wands fly out of their hands, all the masked individuals were stunned.
What was going on?
The person on the other side didn't have a wand, nor did they utter a spell, yet they managed to cast the Disarming Charm.
Could it be that he had already mastered wandless and wordless magic at such a young age?
Even if he had mastered wandless and wordless magic, what kind of Disarming Charm was that?
Who had ever heard of a Disarming Charm that was so fast and could disarm over a dozen people at once?
As countless thoughts raced through the minds of the masked individuals, Jerry waved his hand, and their masks instantly flew up to their foreheads, revealing their true faces.
"Right here, look at the camera!"
A series of flashes lit up as Malfoy and a dozen other Ministry of Magic officials, standing in the woods, wearing cloaks and masks, with bewildered and terrified expressions, were photographed by a Magic Camera.
"So, it's Mr. Malfoy. I thought it might be some of Voldemort's remaining Death Eaters causing trouble. I didn't expect it to be you. Well, what do you think will happen if the other members of the Ministry of Magic see these photos I've taken?"
Jerry snapped a few more pictures, then put down the camera, shaking his head in disbelief.
On the other side, Malfoy and his group were already red with anger.
Clearly, the other party was well-prepared, or they wouldn't have brought a Magic Camera. They had fallen into a trap.
The critical issue was that they now had no wands, and their opponent was incredibly powerful, leaving them unable to resist and standing there in helpless rage.
"Mr. Carmen, what do you want?"
Malfoy was the first to regain his composure, putting on a friendly expression as he looked at Jerry.
He knew that if the photos were sent to the Ministry of Magic, they would all end up in prison.
But since the other party didn't seem to have that intention, there was still room for negotiation.
Jerry looked at Malfoy, then walked over and patted his shoulder, smiling.
"Call me Jerry. I'm Draco's classmate and roommate. Mr. Malfoy, you don't need to be afraid. I won't give these photos to the Ministry of Magic, at least not for now."
Hearing Jerry's words, Malfoy felt no relief; instead, his head ached even more.
If Jerry had made a demand, such as asking for money or help with something, it would have been easier to handle, as solving the issue would have resolved the problem.
However, Jerry didn't make any demands, nor did he suggest destroying the Magic Camera or returning it to them.
This left Malfoy feeling even more uncertain.
Because that meant Jerry could use this leverage to threaten them at any time, forcing them to do whatever he wanted.
Unless they plan to be imprisoned as Death Eaters.
"Alright, have a pleasant night. The Anti-Apparition Charm has been lifted, everyone go home and get some sleep!"
Without another word, Jerry smiled, waved to everyone, and vanished on the spot.
Once Jerry had left, the group picked up their wands. Malfoy's companion, Goyle, grumbled a suggestion:
"Lucius, why don't we find an opportunity to take care of him!"
"Fool, don't act rashly!"
Malfoy immediately rejected the idea without hesitation.
Clearly, from the way Jerry had disarmed all of them with a single move, it was evident that Jerry's strength was even more terrifying than rumored.
After all, they hadn't been caught off guard; they had all been on high alert after hearing the noise.
Even so, they had been defeated in a single exchange, and Jerry hadn't even used the legendary Giant Patronus yet.
With such power, how could they possibly take him down?
If they tried and failed, Jerry might get angry and hand over those photos to the Ministry of Magic, ruining them all.
Most importantly, Jerry was a student, spending most of his time at Hogwarts. Were they supposed to kill a student right under Dumbledore's nose at Hogwarts?
The idea was simply too foolish.
"Let's head back. We'll think of a way to deal with this later."
After some thought, Malfoy had no better ideas and could only sigh in frustration.
On the other side, after reuniting with his clone at the camp and assisting the Aurors who arrived via Apparition with some reports, Jerry returned to Diagon Alley and found Hermione and the others.
Actually, today he had taken photos of Malfoy and a dozen other high-ranking pureblood officials almost as an afterthought.
The purpose was simple.
He knew that in the future, Hermione would join the Ministry of Magic and work her way up to the position of Minister.
But Voldemort had already been sealed away, so there would be no second magical war as in the original story. Many of the pureblood supporters would still be within the Ministry of Magic.
This would inevitably create obstacles for Hermione's future advancement.
However, if he held incriminating evidence against these pureblood supporters, those obstacles could become allies.
It was a way to plan ahead for the future.
Everyone has their own dreams and paths. He didn't want to force the people he cared about to live according to his own ideas. Instead, he would provide some small assistance.
Just like with Elsa, he believed that Elsa could live a life like a princess, carefree and free from dangerous endeavors like joining the Avengers.
But Elsa didn't see it that way. Her dream was to become a superhero, a powerful Magic user. So, Jerry didn't stop her; instead, he helped her achieve those dreams in various ways.
For Hermione, Jerry felt the same way.
Hermione's dream was to become the Minister of the Ministry of Magic and work to make the entire Witch world a better place.
So, he was willing to provide support from the sidelines.
Jerry always believed that if you love someone, you shouldn't force your own choices on them, making them live according to your ideals.
Everyone has the right to make their own choices. To deprive someone of that right in the name of love is a very dangerous and frightening act.
