Chapter 562: My Rules are the Rules!
Chapter 562: My Rules are the Rules!
Gerinka had calmed down and was on the phone while pouring drinks. Even when they suddenly discovered Sage, they didn't panic.
As experienced CP0 agents, they quickly accepted any orders, but in this chaotic situation, it was just another layer of chaos, nothing to be overly concerned about.
It wasn't until Sage took down two members of the Extreme Generation and approached them, his killing intent from the recent murder still lingering, mixed with a fighting spirit, that they felt a powerful shock to their minds.
The two who were playing chess in the back stood up abruptly and took a step back in unison. Gerinka's temples broke out in cold sweat as he looked up at Sage, who was standing on the window sill, looking down at them with a glint in his eyes.
"Sage, what are you doing?"
Even he didn't realize that his voice was trembling.
"Don't worry, we're not interested in you."
Sage entered the room and looked at the woman playing the Sanwei Zither with a paper mask with eyes on it. "Is this Kaido's surveillance system? Can you give me an introduction? I'm quite interested."
He didn't hesitate and sat down directly at the chessboard, waving at Gerinka, "Come on, let's finish this game."
"Sage, we're just following orders."
Gerinka hesitated for a moment but still came over and sat down, saying, "Whether you win or Kaido wins, it doesn't really matter to us."
"I know."
Sage glanced at the Talking Cricket in his hand, picked up a black stone, and placed it on the chessboard, asking, "Then, what exactly are we going to do?"
"The higher-ups mean that after you and Kaido determine the winner, if both sides are injured, then take the opportunity to recapture the Land of Harmony, after all, there's precious Sea Castle Stone there."
It wasn't Gerinka who spoke, but the Talking Cricket, which rang with Luffy's voice.
"Yo! Captain Sage, it's been a while! I miss Ohara so much!"
Immediately, Garp's voice also sounded in the Talking Cricket, along with an owl that spoke after Garp.
"Captain, Garp said that Ohara isn't good, and he likes to be the big boss on the government side."
"Don't slander me! When did I ever say that!"
"Just a week ago, you said it while drinking in the bar."
"Owl! Aren't we partners? Your mouth can't be zipped up!"
The sound of zipping a zipper rang out from the Talking Cricket.
"Oh? Are you all together? Doing what?" Sage smiled.
"Escorting some things, the Blaze Angel."
Luffy said, "As a substitute for the new weapon of the Seven Warlords."
"Hey! Luffy!"
Gerinka glared, "Do you know what you're saying!"
"It's fine."
Luffy said calmly, "This is tacitly approved. If I don't say it, someone else will."
"Seven Warlords."
Sage was taken aback, "Did your World Conference have a result?"
"The result has been agreed upon. King Cobra of Alabasta proposed to abolish the Seven Warlords, and after the Allied Nations agreed, the resolution was officially implemented." Luffy said.
"Hmph, Tenghu's wish has been fulfilled, so is he going to step down?"
Sage smiled and said, "Luffy, if I survive, remember to give me Tenghu's phone. As for your Blaze Angel, if there's a chance, I'd like to see what it's made of."
"Understood."
Luffy paused and continued, "Also, if you win, the order from above is to open up the Sea Castle Stone trade."
"I'm a pirate, and I do business. Don't worry, I'm not a diode." Sage laughed heartily.
The world is neither white nor black but a refined shade of gray.
The larger the scale, the more one can feel the truth in this statement.
Preferences exist, but they don't hinder business, especially when both sides can't do much to each other.
The World Government, with its vast scale, can accomplish such a feat, but can Sage not do the same?
The Den Den Mushi call with CP0 ended, leaving Gelinka and the other two CP0 members in a prolonged silence.
As masked CP0 agents, their status surpasses that of unmasked CP0, granting them access to more intelligence.
They were aware that the Cataclysm Pirates were a sieve, and that Sage was utilizing their intelligence network, even knowing that the Five Elders tacitly approved of this.
After all, it was a mutually beneficial arrangement, as they could grasp most of a Four Emperor's movements. In the New World, information or not, it wouldn't affect Sage's actions. So, they decided to provide him with the information.
However, they hadn't anticipated Sage's high-ranking status.
That was Luffy!
He directly followed his orders.
Moreover, those who previously belonged to CP9 seemed to heed his commands.
Who, then, was the true leader of CP0?
What was the higher-ups thinking?
"Why are you all dazed? Play a game of chess!"
Read the flawless version in Book 6! 6 = 9 + Book _ Bar first release of this novel.
Sage spoke to the stunned Gelinka.
Gelinka snapped out of her trance, glanced at the chessboard, paused for a moment, and then said, "That... The situation is already aesthetically pleasing. If we continue, it will ruin the beauty."
The chessboard they had been playing on was quite beautiful, but Sage's move seemed out of place.
"A bizarre tradition."
Sage chuckled, "Games have winners and losers, and where there are winners and losers, there's competition. Beauty? That doesn't belong on a chessboard."
"But..."
Gelinka replied, "Your move is a blunder. The stalemate has now turned into a disadvantage for you."
"How am I at a disadvantage? Look, there are four stones, and neither side is blocked. I'm going to win!" Sage exclaimed.
Gelinka: "..."
Gomoku!
"We're playing Go."
"Who's 'we' to you?"
Sage grinned menacingly, staring at him, "It's not just your rules that are rules. Here, you must follow my rules! Either play Gomoku with me or..."
Bang!
He flipped the chessboard with one hand and shouted, "No one plays!"
Standing up, he surveyed the CP0 members and said coldly,
"I warn you, don't do anything foolish. I don't care what you're here for, and I don't mind you watching. But if your interference ruins my one-on-one battle with Kaido and disturbs my mindset, I'll blow up Marineford!"
"Sage, are you not afraid that we'll attack Ohara? We have more troops than you."
Gelinka wasn't threatening; instead, she was voicing her doubts.
She had mentioned attacking Marineford more than once.
In terms of scale and strength, they had the advantage.
"Are you saying this to a pirate?"
Sage laughed, "I'll just set sail again. Can you change places with me? Want to play a game of house? Sure, after I destroy Marineford, I'll do nothing but focus on the Allied Nations. By then, will your headquarters still exist?"
Gelinka pursed her lips and wiped the sweat from her forehead, "We guarantee we won't do anything."
If this guy truly becomes displeased, the world will descend into chaos, and they'll be in a real bind.
No one dares to gamble on this, and no one will.
Who dares to bet on whether a pirate cares about world chaos, especially someone like Sage, with his proven track record? There's a high probability that he'll do as he says.
