Chapter 561: Three Days of Guerrilla Warfare Behind Enemy Lines
Chapter 561: Three Days of Guerrilla Warfare Behind Enemy Lines
Over the next three days, Su Yu continued his guerrilla activities behind the lines of the Liren Alliance and the Beck Progressive Party, raiding their military supply depots.
Anything he targeted was completely looted, leaving not a single scrap for the Liren Alliance or Hans Rog to salvage.
Hans Rog and the Liren Alliance's supreme commander were on the verge of losing their minds! During these three days, they stayed at the military headquarters, but the bad news kept pouring in one after another. One depot would be emptied, and another would fall, with the losses piling up higher than the sky, driving them to the brink of madness.
Of course, Hans Rog and the Liren Alliance sent out teams to capture this notorious thief.
On the morning of the second day, they organized a high-level pursuit squad led by two seventh-rank Legendary powerhouses and eleven sixth-rank Sacred Domain experts, determined to apprehend this heinous criminal and recover their losses.
However, three days passed.
During these three days, the pursuit squad tried every possible method—surrounding and blocking, setting traps, and even using intimidation—but they couldn't do anything to Su Yu.
Hans Rog even realized, to his despair, that after three days, they still didn't know who this thief was or how he managed to transport the stolen goods out of the depots. The thief left only a mess of chaos in his wake.
Su Yu fully embraced the essence of Chinese guerrilla warfare: when the enemy advances, I retreat; when the enemy retreats, I advance; when the enemy is tired, I attack; when the enemy is stationary, I harass. He targeted the weakest points in the enemy's defenses, stealing as many war supplies as possible.
Su Yu's continuous disruptions behind enemy lines caused the combat effectiveness of Hans Rog and the Liren Alliance to plummet.
Sindie Doppler, of course, didn't miss this opportunity. He used a megaphone (a long-distance sound transmission device) to constantly broadcast news of the thief's rampages to the enemy's front lines and dropped leaflets with small drones.
The soldiers of the Beck Progressive Party, who were already reluctant to fight a civil war, saw this information and their morale plummeted.
Due to Su Yu's raids, the enemy's weapons, equipment, missiles, and ammunition quickly ran short. Combined with the soldiers' lack of enthusiasm, the enemy's firepower on the front lines dropped significantly.
Worst of all, Su Yu followed Sindie Doppler's advice and, during each raid, not only took all the military supplies but also the enemy's food and Lakon bugs.
The enemy soldiers on the front lines were left hungry, with no meals and no Lakon bug juice, their daily essential. Who could have the heart to fight under such conditions?
For a time, anti-war sentiment among the soldiers of the Beck Progressive Party and the Liren Alliance soared.
Sindie Doppler seized the opportunity and launched a counteroffensive, wiping out two divisions of the Liren Alliance, totaling 30,000 men, and pushing the enemy back over 40 kilometers in just two days.
However, on the third day, which was the fourth day since Su Yu arrived on Skrull, a turning point occurred.
That evening, the Liren Alliance's eighth-rank Divine Rank psychic, Steem, answered Hans Rog's invitation and personally came to Beck to hunt down Su Yu.
Steem had exceptional tracking skills and could easily locate Su Yu based on the residual psychic traces he left behind.
Su Yu tried to operate under Steem's watchful eye but quickly realized it was impossible.
He attempted to enter an unimportant small depot in the rear of the Liren Alliance but was soon tracked down by Steem and nearly caught.
With no other choice, Su Yu had to abandon his plans. After erasing all traces of his presence, he returned to Beck City.
On the night of November 6th, Su Yu appeared in Cindy Doppler's office.
Cindy Doppler was hunched over her desk, writing something. Seeing Su Yu's figure, she let out a sigh of relief. "Phew, you're finally back!"
She put down her pen, stood up, and walked over to Su Yu, extending her hand. "I've been worried about you ever since Steam appeared. It's good to see you back safely! Welcome back!"
"Ah, Steam is just too powerful. Otherwise, I could have stolen more," Su Yu replied with a smile as he shook her hand. "How has the war been going while I was away?"
"The war is definitely turning in our favor," Cindy Doppler said, gesturing to the black leather chair in front of her desk. "Thanks to your surprise attack, the enemy is in disarray, suffering from a severe shortage of supplies. They are no match for us now, and we've won several battles in a row! If G2 doesn't drastically increase their war supplies, the final victory will be ours!"
"Then I wish you all the best for the final victory!" Su Yu clasped his hands together in a salute.
"Thank you!" Cindy Doppler expressed her gratitude.
"Um, there's something I want to say," she began, but hesitated, as if struggling with her words.
Su Yu looked at her and said in a relaxed tone, "Doppler, what's on your mind? Go ahead and speak freely! After all, we are allies, and allies shouldn't hide anything from each other."
"Alright, then." Cindy Doppler nodded, a bit embarrassed. "Su Yu, the truth is that the situation within our 'Anti-Union Organization' isn't as optimistic as it seems. To be honest, we are facing a severe financial crisis."
"Financial crisis?" Su Yu furrowed his brow.
"Yes," Cindy Doppler replied candidly. "Hans Rog's Becker Progressive Party is the former ruling party and has strong ties with the major capital groups in the country, not to mention the support of G2. They've never lacked funds."
"On the other hand, our 'Anti-Union Organization' is a newly formed opposition party that has only been around for the past twenty years. To be frank, we've accumulated a lot of debt, and we desperately need external assistance."
She paused, looking at Su Yu expectantly.
Su Yu nodded. "I understand your situation. How about this: I'll give you thirty percent of the war loot I obtained from the enemy's warehouse. That should help alleviate your financial problems a bit."
Su Yu remembered Cindy Doppler's words about the importance of mutual benefit in any partnership. Now that she was facing a problem, he felt it was his duty to help.
However, before he could finish, Cindy Doppler's face changed, and she shook her head vigorously. "That won't work! The war loot is marked with G2's insignia. If G2 discovers that thirty percent of the military supplies are in my possession and the other seventy percent are on Blue Star, our cooperation will be completely exposed!"
"You're right; I forgot about that," Su Yu said, feeling a bit ashamed. He had indeed been too hasty in his thinking.
"Then what can I do to help you?" Su Yu asked. "I have 200 tons of gold and other precious metals from Blue Star. Would you like to take some of it to tide you over?"
