Chapter 560: The Harvest (Revised 117)
Chapter 560: The Harvest (Revised 117)
Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep—
Two and a half hours later, a shrill alarm blared throughout the warehouse complex, accompanied by flashing red lights.
The soldiers patrolling the area all felt a sudden sense of dread.
It seemed something significant had happened!
The military responsible for guarding the entire warehouse complex was the Fourth Army of the Lerren Alliance, a joint force composed of two nations (G2).
At the headquarters of the Fourth Army, Adjutant Skellan scrambled into the office of the commanding general.
General Granden, a peak Sixth-Stage powerhouse, furrowed his brow and scolded, "Skellan, you should maintain your composure. As my adjutant, you're setting a poor example by panicking like this."
But Skellan, his mind in chaos, cut straight to the point, "General, it's terrible! Almost all the military supplies have been stolen! The warehouses are empty, with almost nothing left!"
"What did you say?" Granden's eyes widened in shock.
How could this be possible?
Right under his nose?
In the next instant, Granden darted past Skellan and flew out of the office.
Two minutes later, Skellan arrived at the largest warehouse in the complex.
General Granden was already there, his face ashen as he surveyed the empty crates and racks filling the warehouse.
At first, he couldn't believe his eyes. The warehouse was even emptier than when they had arrived!
As for the military supplies, they had vanished without a trace!
In those two minutes, Granden had inspected the ten largest warehouses in the area. Except for the warehouses storing Lekor bugs and food, all the military supplies had disappeared!
Who, or what force, could have pulled off such a massive heist right under his watch?
Could it be Cindy Doppler?
Could they have that kind of power?
"Skellan," Granden said, his voice icy, "When did the theft occur?"
"Reporting to the General," Skellan saluted and said solemnly, "From the traces, the theft began in this very warehouse, about two and a half hours ago. The other warehouses were then hit one after another."
"So you're saying," Granden glared at him, "that for two and a half hours, you had no idea anything was happening? Isn't that negligence?"
"Please, calm down, General!" Skellan, trembling under Granden's glare, knelt and pleaded, "There were no abnormalities in the entire warehouse complex during those two and a half hours. It was only during a routine inventory check ten minutes ago that we discovered the situation."
He seemed to remember something and quickly added, "I swear, no large transport vehicles or aircraft left the base during those two and a half hours! The thief must have used some unknown method to move the supplies!"
"Enough! Enough!" Granden waved his hand irritably, "Get this information to the Commander-in-Chief immediately. Send people to assess the losses and report the data to the military headquarters as quickly as possible!"
"Understood!" Skellan replied.
"Get moving!" Granden kicked Skellan, who had just stood up to turn around, sending him flying out of the warehouse.
Skellan let out a yelp as he flew out, while Granden stood there, lost in thought.
Who could be so capable as to empty over a dozen warehouses in such a short time? And how did they manage to transport everything out?
Wait a minute! Could it be... Su Yu?
The mere thought of that name sent a shiver down Granden's spine.
Su Yu's massive storage equipment was well-known among the Skrulls, and he had already ascended to the Seventh Rank. If it was indeed him, he could easily have ransacked the entire warehouse.
Granden quickly released a psychic shield to protect himself and called the expeditionary force headquarters.
A few minutes later, he was bewildered.
The Blue Star Operations Specialist at the headquarters clearly told him that Su Yu was still on Blue Star, busy with a mission in the game, and had not come to Skrul.
After muttering a quick "Thanks, I understand," Granden hung up and walked over to the large crate, kicking it in disbelief.
If it wasn't Su Yu, then who could it be?
He fell into deep thought once more.
But as he pondered, a smile suddenly crept across his lips.
It wasn't because he had gone mad, but because he remembered the time he had secretly taken a fifth of the arsenal to sell, making a huge profit.
At the time, he had feared being caught, but now that the warehouse had been robbed, his illicit arms dealing would be completely overshadowed. At worst, the military might just charge him with negligence.
In a way, this could be a blessing in disguise!
The news of the "Lin Gren Gren River Warehouse being completely emptied" quickly spread to the Liren Allied Military Command.
The Allied Commander was furious and immediately dispatched a special investigation team to look into the theft.
However, by then, Su Yu was already flying to the next warehouse with Morning Star.
This warehouse operation had been incredibly fruitful for him!
In just two and a half hours, he had acquired over 500 various models of mechs, including 5 General-grade mechs! (These are mechs designed for psychic mech engineers of Fifth Rank and above.)
He also gathered 20,000 laser rifles and ion beam guns, 500 lightweight high-mobility single-soldier combat vehicles, 25 long-range laser railguns, and 450 unassembled drones of various models.
Besides these weapons, he also secured a large amount of strategic reserve supplies, such as 20 large psychic energy tanks, 150 small psychic energy tanks, and two tons of psychic crystals.
The amount of psychic energy contained in these tanks and crystals was enough to sustain a small psychic spring on Blue Star for three years without rest!
Additionally, Su Yu obtained numerous military auxiliary items, including painkillers, healing potions, temporary strength enhancers, temporary acuity boosters, single-soldier combat suits, and medical assistance devices.
In short, the haul was incredibly rich, and it had been a relatively easy and low-risk operation.
Buoyed by his success, Su Yu hurried to the next location, hoping to score another big win before the Liren Allied Military fully reacted.
During the flight, he received a call from Cindy Doppler.
"How did it go? Was the operation successful?" Cindy's concerned voice came through the line as soon as Su Yu answered.
Su Yu chuckled and replied, "Don't worry, it went smoothly. I managed to clear out about 90% of the warehouse, leaving them only some food."
"Good to hear it went well," Cindy said. "But don't leave them any food! Take everything you can!"
"Um," Su Yu hesitated.
He hadn't taken the food because the Rakto insects were disgusting, and he didn't want to "pollute" his storage space.
But since Cindy had spoken, Su Yu responded, "Alright, I'll try to take everything."
