Chapter 554: Unknown Star Map, Outpost Establishment
Chapter 554: Unknown Star Map, Outpost Establishment
"The last area turned out to be the hiding place of the Star River Cube. What a coincidence."
Qin Muye completed the final piece of the star map, and countless stars began to shine with their brilliant light. Although the secondary dimension where the Star River Cube was hidden had not yet been officially activated, Qin Muye had already learned its location from Wang Wei's memories. There was no need to wait for the secondary dimension to appear or for the Star God Evil Entity to invade.
"The Star River Cube will definitely fall into Wang Wei's hands, and this is the perfect opportunity to take a trip to this unknown star domain." Qin Muye was not at all worried that the Star River Cube would fall into someone else's hands. Once he obtained the Star River Cube, he would gain knowledge about the mechanical aspects of the GROX Empire.
Compared to the spiritual energy knowledge he had already acquired, he didn't place much value on it. It was roughly equivalent to high-level magic or secret arts, which Qin Muye didn't really need. On the contrary, technological knowledge was more suitable for Qin Muye's modifications.
Spiritual energy was too mystical and incompatible with Qin Muye.
It's not that he couldn't use it, but it just didn't feel right.
"Black Hand, prepare for the teleportation test of the star map's security using the skeleton soldiers." Qin Muye's idea was simple: he wanted to send cannon fodder to test the area first.
After all, it was an unknown region and possibly the center of the universe guarded by the GROX Empire. Who knew what might be there? If there was a terrifying existence lurking, Qin Muye would be walking into a death trap.
So, he definitely needed to send the skeleton soldiers, who served as laborers and cannon fodder, to explore first. If the first test went well, he would send the goblins for a second round.
If the goblins returned unharmed, Qin Muye would send his Sage Book Shadow to conduct a thorough investigation.
Only when everything was confirmed to be safe would he go himself.
An 8th-rank server was very dangerous, so caution was essential.
Black Hand was efficient, and a fully armed skeleton soldier was dispatched and teleported over.
"The characteristics of the hyper-spatial channel are very useful. Not only can it open multiple permanent and temporary channels, but it can also be closed and reopened at any time. Although the consumption has increased, the significance is great."
Qin Muye watched as the time passed, and soon the skeleton soldier was brought back, but this time it was directly placed in a sterile room.
Several goblins remotely examined the entire skeleton soldier to check if it had brought back anything it shouldn't have.
Even if it posed no threat to Qin Muye, it was a necessary precautionary measure.
A large amount of data was continuously uploaded to the Magic Network, and Qin Muye immediately downloaded it.
As the overseer, Qin Muye had to carefully review these reports.
At a glance, he finished reading all the data. The skeleton soldier had encountered some minor issues, but nothing serious. The problems were mainly due to environmental incompatibility, and it quickly recovered once it returned to the Abyss.
As for cosmic radiation or other factors, there were none. The skeleton soldier was coated with a layer of Terminator and wore protective gear, so it didn't encounter any problems.
"Observe it for a cycle. If there are no issues, release it."
After giving the instructions, Qin Muye opened the recording and data collection devices on the skeleton soldier.
Otherwise, he would have to send it back again. He had equipped the skeleton soldier with a lot of devices.
"From the data, the major parameters are fine, but there are some issues with the interstellar data. These are minor and can be adjusted."
The differences between star domains are naturally different. Even a single planet can have various environments, let alone a vast star domain.
"The coordinates are inside a large structure. From the video footage brought back by the skeleton soldier, it appears to be some kind of space base."
"It has been abandoned for a long time, and the power supply seems to have been cut off."
"Most likely, it is a remnant of the GROX Empire."
"There is some danger, but the goblins should be able to handle it. With the current communication methods that have integrated the faith module, signals can be received from both sides, though there will be some delay."
Qin Muye decided to proceed with the second phase of his plan, which was to send goblins for reconnaissance.
For now, the number was set at one hundred thousand.
Of these one hundred thousand goblins, not all would be sent for reconnaissance. There were also those for combat, logistics, strategy, and more. Qin Muye was preparing to send a complete strategic team, one that could survive for hundreds of thousands of years even if they lost contact.
The distance was too great, and Qin Muye had no choice but to ensure everything was as well-prepared as possible.
In this regard, Qin Muye had never been stingy. Resources should be allocated wisely, neither expanding resources at the expense of the territory's interests nor conserving them when it came to matters of safety.
Once the goblins had established an outpost and made some progress, Qin Muye would send his Sage Book Shadow to conduct further research.
This task was naturally assigned to the territory's chief steward, Black Hand, who was very efficient. Within just an hour, the materials needed for one hundred thousand goblins were gathered, and the various types of elite goblins were ready to go.
There was no bickering or shirking of responsibilities. Qin Muye's orders, relayed through Black Hand, were quickly broken down into various tasks by different departments, and the necessary items were assembled in an instant.
Since each goblin was a 7th-rank entity, as long as they didn't slack off or receive incorrect orders, their efficiency was always at its peak.
The materials needed for one hundred thousand goblins might seem like a lot, but when broken down, it was a simple task for 7th-rank occupational goblins.
Recalling the construction of the Titan-class megastructure, the scale of that project and the coordination required far surpassed this, with millions of goblins involved.
"Master, everything is ready. Shall we proceed with the transmission?" Black Hand reported.
"Go ahead," Qin Muye replied. He didn't specify how to transmit or how to get there; they would handle those details.
Such trivial matters didn't require his attention.
Immediately, one hundred thousand monitoring screens flickered to life, each showing a different perspective. These perspectives were not in the Infinite Abyss but inside the large base of the GROX Empire.
The goblins quickly dispersed, each taking on their assigned tasks: reconnaissance, security, data collection, and more.
Their efficiency was very high, and large amounts of data and reports were transmitted back through the Magic Network, to be analyzed by various departments.
Qin Muye, of course, was closely monitoring the situation. Through the remote video feed, he confirmed that the base was indeed abandoned. The engineering goblins quickly restored power to the entire base and then isolated the network system and various devices, leaving only the power circuits for lighting.
Next, they used the energy system to create a fixed teleportation area and establish a direct spatial channel between the two locations.
The Infinite Abyss side received the signal with a one-second delay and then established the connection.
This communication system was incredibly advanced but had significant limitations. It was based on the faith module, meaning only goblins or those who had faith in Qin Muye could use it, making it extremely exclusive.
However, Qin Muye didn't mind. For him, this was a good thing, as it ensured the technology remained exclusive.
Otherwise, his communication technology, derived from the alien civilizations of the Horror Universe, would not have been so effective. These civilizations had been oppressed by various horrors for many years, and their development to this point was a testament to their resilience.
Unfortunately, they didn't last long. Two of them were wiped out by Freddy and Jason, and the remaining Arachnid race was likely on the brink of extinction.
Thus, their technological level still lagged far behind that of the various interstellar civilizations of the Shining Universe.
Fortunately, the god system derived from the Ganaya civilization was powerful. Otherwise, Qin Muye's communication technology would have been limited to a single star domain, and it wouldn't have been able to span such vast distances with only a one-second delay.
Once the teleportation facility was successfully established and the channel between the two locations was opened, the delay would disappear, though it would take some time. The distance was too great, and the process of positioning and calibration required significant technical support, unlike the constant hyper-spatial channels.
