Chapter 551
### Chapter 551
"Ivan, did you encounter something you didn't understand while reading?" Nicolas Flamel set down his work and asked.
"Yes, Master! I've already finished reading the Modern Alchemy Compendium, but I still don't fully understand the Alchemy it describes."
Ivan nodded, not rushing to ask about Emotional Magic. Instead, he took out his alchemy notes and handed them to Nicolas Flamel.
"You finished it so quickly?" Nicolas Flamel took the notes, looking quite surprised.
After all, he had spent seven years compiling the Modern Alchemy Compendium, summarizing the various aspects of Alchemy, which contained complex and profound knowledge.
In Nicolas Flamel's view, if Ivan could finish the book over the summer and gain a general understanding of Alchemy, it would be quite impressive.
"More or less, I guess", Ivan scratched his head, uncertain.
Nicolas Flamel slowly flipped through the notes Ivan had given him, puzzled.
Over the past three days, his research had reached a critical stage, so he had been somewhat neglectful of Ivan's studies. Thus, his understanding of Ivan's progress was still from three days ago, which is why he was surprised that Ivan had finished the Modern Alchemy Compendium.
"Very impressive, faster than I expected!" Nicolas Flamel browsed through the notes for a few minutes and glanced at Ivan in surprise.
From these notes alone, it was clear that Ivan's progress had exceeded his expectations. It seemed that Ivan had been working very hard over the past few days.
Over the centuries, Nicolas Flamel had taught many apprentices, including some very talented Wizards. However, none of them could match Ivan's learning ability.
It was no wonder that at such a young age, Ivan could achieve such remarkable results in multiple subjects.
Looking at Ivan's youthful face, Nicolas Flamel felt a deep sense of admiration. In front of this young witch and wizard, other so-called geniuses would likely pale in comparison.
"I owe it all to your guidance", Ivan replied humbly, his words filled with genuine gratitude.
Although he could use the Scholar Experience Card to increase his mental processing speed and achieve exceptional learning speed, this state wasn't infallible.
Questions arising from a lack of knowledge couldn't be resolved even with the card's assistance.
At such times, the help of an Alchemical Master in answering questions and clearing doubts proved invaluable. A few words from the Master could remove obstacles in his path.
Nicolas Flamel smiled and shook his head, not taking Ivan's praise too seriously.
In fact, since coming to this Alchemical Cottage, Ivan had been mostly self-studying, with Nicolas Flamel only occasionally able to offer guidance.
The rapid progress was largely due to Ivan's own efforts.
Thinking about this, Nicolas Flamel felt a bit ashamed and decided to focus. He took a few sheets of paper and began explaining the alchemy knowledge to Ivan.
Ivan also raised the questions he had encountered during his studies.
After an hour of questions and answers, Ivan suddenly spoke up.
"Master, I read in the Modern Alchemy Compendium that skilled Wizards can channel strong emotions to enhance the power of Magic, and even infuse their Will to create extremely powerful Alchemical Items."
"Exactly! But achieving that isn't an easy task." Nicolas Flamel nodded, then wondered why Ivan would suddenly ask about this.
"Do you have a way to repair such an Alchemical Item?" Ivan quickly followed up.
"Oh? I'll need to see it first", Nicolas Flamel showed some interest. An Alchemical Item that incorporated the creator's will was quite rare.
Ivan hesitated for a moment, then took off the Crescent Pendant hanging from his neck and placed it on the table.
"Is this it?" Nicolas Flamel looked at the silver crescent-shaped pendant with interest, tracing it lightly with his thin, wrinkled index finger while muttering something. The surface of the Crescent Pendant immediately glowed faintly.
"The main material is Mithril, mixed with some Dragon Scale Fragments and Black Stone Powder to enhance its hardness. And there are some even more special components", Nicolas Flamel murmured, sensing some residual emotions in the Crescent Pendant.
Love's Protective Wish
By examining the wear on the materials and estimating the time of its creation, Nicolas Flamel quickly drew a conclusion and understood how it was made.
"Brilliant! To think you could use the emotions from that special period to amplify the Magic's effect—no wonder." Nicolas Flamel marveled.
In his expert opinion, the creator of this pendant was not highly skilled in Alchemy. Normally, it would be impossible to infuse one's emotions into such an Alchemical Item.
But the creator had managed to do so using a clever method!
Of course, this clever method was no easy feat and only the creator could have accomplished it.
Nicolas Flamel turned the pendant over and saw the name engraved on it, confirming his suspicions. He then looked at Ivan.
"Hals, did your mother give you this pendant?"
"It seems she once saved your life!" Nicolas Flamel had already deduced the pendant's purpose and understood what its damage meant.
"Yes!" Ivan shrugged helplessly, not hiding the fact that three years ago, he had been forced to face Voldemort alone to protect the Protective Magic Stone.
"During the fight, a lot of black mist surged from Voldemort's body, trying to corrupt mine. It was the Crescent Pendant that protected me, keeping me conscious!"
As he spoke, Ivan felt a lingering fear.
At the time, he had only intended to play a minor role, using the plot twist to quickly defeat Voldemort and complete his mission. However, Harry, who was supposed to be the main force, fainted as soon as the fight began, leading to a series of dangerous situations.
If not for the protection of the Crescent Pendant, which bought him some time, and the sudden awakening of his blood magic, he would have been dead long ago.
Despite his significant contribution, the stingy Dumbledore only offered to add a few House Points as compensation.
Ivan emphasized with resentment that this precious Crescent Pendant was damaged during the battle for the Protective Magic Stone and should be considered damage incurred in the line of duty.
As the master of the Philosopher's Stone, shouldn't you repair it for me?
Ivan looked at Nicolas Flamel with hopeful eyes. Though he didn't say it outright, his meaning was clear enough.
