Chapter 550: Crescent Pendant
Chapter 550: Crescent Pendant
"Sure enough", Ivan wiped the water off his face, looking at the glass shards on the table, and sighed in disappointment.
Wishing for something to happen was easy, but when it came to actual experimentation, Ivan found it impossible to achieve.
Without the aid of a spell and a gesture, the Magic within his body couldn't understand his commands, nor would it obey his instructions.
Ivan shook his head, temporarily abandoning this idea, and instead waved his wand to clean up the mess.
"Reparo!"
Under the influence of Magic, the glass shards, broken into over a dozen pieces, trembled and reassembled themselves, as if time had been reversed, forming a perfectly intact glass cup.
Even the spilled Lemon Juice was gathered back into the cup.
Of course, Ivan had no interest in drinking this cup of Lemon Juice again and promptly poured it into the trash bin.
The small, carrot-shaped Alchemical Creatures were startled by the sudden explosion of the cup and scurried around in panic. Only when Ivan repaired the cup did they calm down. Seeing the cup was empty, they resumed their laborious task of moving things around.
Ivan watched these little creatures busily at work, with no intention of lending a hand. Observing the actions of these Alchemical Creatures was one of the few forms of entertainment he had in the Alchemical Cottage.
Moreover, if he really helped, they wouldn't be grateful; instead, they would become extremely dejected, as performing these mundane tasks was their very purpose.
Ivan was also quite curious about the high intelligence displayed by these "Little Turnips." He had seen similar Alchemical Creatures before, like the Alchemical Fluffballs created by George and Fred, which were similar in nature.
However, in general, the intelligence of Magic creations was not high, capable of only simple judgments, with expressionless faces, far from being as nimble as these.
Ivan couldn't help but reach out and grab one of the "carrot heads", curious, and ignored its struggles as he examined it from all angles.
In the end, he found that the creature's exterior was Silver, smooth and flawless, with no Runic Inscriptions etched on it. It might fall under the category of Enchantment Magic, but it could also be a method of Alchemy he was unaware of.
It had to be said that since entering this Alchemical Cottage, Ivan had gradually realized how ignorant he was.
The more he studied advanced Alchemy Books, the more he understood how shallow his knowledge was.
A few days ago, he had felt quite proud of his sixth-level Alchemy, but now it seemed that he was just a beginner. Only now was he beginning to truly touch upon the mysteries of Alchemy.
Ivan silently mused to himself, but his hands didn't stop as he began to organize the cluttered alchemical notes on the table.
The Modern Alchemy Compendium written by Nicolas Flamel covered a wide range of topics. It was more of a comprehensive summary of many aspects of Alchemy, like an overview.
What interested Ivan the most was a particular type of Enchantment Magic.
"Intense and pure emotion can often unleash unimaginable power. Skilled Wizards can use Magic to guide and store this power in specific instruments, creating extremely powerful Magic Items", Ivan read aloud from a parchment, gazing at the recorded content.
He had witnessed the power of such emotions twice: once in the form of Harry's Protective Charm, and the other in the Crescent Pendant given to him by Asia.
Thinking about this, Ivan reached into his clothes and pulled out a silver chain.
At the end of the chain hung a crescent-shaped pendant. In the sunlight, it appeared somewhat dull, with several deep cracks clearly visible on its surface. On the back, his name was faintly etched.
**Magic Item: Crescent Pendant**
**Magic: Low (Strong)**
**Description: This is a Magic Item crafted with a great deal of precious metals and immense effort. It can protect the wearer from a lethal attack, but it is now damaged.**
**Note: It contains more than just Magic power.**
"More than just Magic power, it also contains love, right?" Ivan muttered to himself, holding the pendant in his hand.
According to the *Modern Alchemy Compendium*, Asia had used a specific technique to channel this emotion into the Alchemical Item, thereby activating the protective runic inscriptions. This made it powerful enough to resist a lethal attack!
Lethal spells are not easy to resist, and it seemed that the protection was not limited to any specific type. This meant that even if Voldemort used the Avada Kedavra on him, the System judged that he would most likely be safe.
As for the "merely" strong Magic rating, Ivan thought it was reasonable. For a one-time-use item to receive such an evaluation was already quite impressive.
If it could be used multiple times, the rating would certainly be even higher!
Ivan also noticed that the note on the Crescent Pendant had changed. The phrase "Your Alchemy skills are not yet sufficient to repair it" was now gone, indicating that he now had the ability to fix it.
"But how do I repair this thing?" Ivan sighed, turning the pendant over and examining the cracks.
Using his current knowledge, healing the cracks wasn't a problem, but the key was the core—specifically, the emotion that had already dissipated. Even if he repaired it, it wouldn't be able to provide the same level of protection against lethal Magic.
The *Modern Alchemy Compendium* mentioned Emotional Magic, but it didn't provide a method for channeling it. So, Ivan had no idea how to proceed.
Well, he might as well ask Nicolas Flamel directly.
With this in mind, Ivan tidied up the scattered notes on the table, checked the time, and then got up to head towards Nicolas Flamel's workshop.
Knock, knock, knock.
Ivan gently knocked on the door. After hearing a response from inside, he opened the door and walked in.
Nicolas Flamel was sitting at a desk, staring intently at a blueprint. He looked a bit tired, but his spirit was quite energetic.
Ivan wasn't surprised. He had experienced a similar state when he stayed up late playing games in his previous life—the feeling of a tired body but a mind that still wanted to play one more round was all too familiar.
This also made Ivan a bit worried. Nicolas Flamel was quite old and still expending so much mental energy. It was questionable whether his body could handle it.
Hearing Ivan push the door open, Nicolas Flamel seemed to notice him only then. He slowly raised his head and turned his gaze to Ivan.
