Chapter 55: The Soul Banner Ritual, the End of a Cycle (False)
Chapter 55: The Soul Banner Ritual, the End of a Cycle (False)
Dragon qi swirled, thousands of threads rising like clouds and mist, purple vapor noble and majestic, the peaks and valleys adorned with orchids and herbs, a scene of grandeur and beauty.
The holy mountain towered, its peaks ethereal, each cliff and stone enveloped in a misty aura, like a realm of immortals in the human world.
This was the Yaochi Holy Land, a rare and precious sanctuary in the desolate Northern Region, almost a miracle.
“Master, is there something you need us to do?” Lixingruo looked at her seated master, her small hands restlessly reaching out.
Massaging her master, hugging her master’s long legs!
“Can’t I call you here if there’s nothing to do?” Shaohua raised an eyebrow, glancing at her, and couldn’t help but ask.
“Of course not.” Lixingruo quickly denied it, shaking her head like a rattle drum.
Nan Jinping, standing to the side, didn’t interject. She knew that if her master had called her, there must be something important to discuss.
“What do you think of the Yaochi Holy Land?”
After a moment of silence, Shaohua gently opened her lips and asked a somewhat nonsensical question.
Before they could respond, she continued on her own: “It’s naturally excellent, after all, I created it myself.”
“But there is one issue: it’s too close to the Primordial Ancient Mine. While I’m here, there’s no problem, but I will eventually have to leave, and when that time comes, many troubles will arise.”
“Master, why would you leave us? I’m so well-behaved,” Lixingruo’s eyes twinkled, and she fell to the ground, hugging Shaohua’s arm, pretending to be on the verge of tears.
“You, ah~” Shaohua chuckled, knowing this was her good disciple trying to avoid the real issue. The two of them were talking about different things.
In fact, Lixingruo had misunderstood. When Shaohua said she would leave, she didn’t mean she would die.
She was about to embark on the Mundane Immortality Path, which would involve numerous transformations and periods of seclusion. She couldn’t stay in the Yaochi Holy Land indefinitely.
She took a sip of Spirit Awakening Tea, put down the teacup, and turned to Nan Jinping, saying:
“A few days ago, I found a blessed land in the Northern Region. Jinping, I know you are always steady and reliable. Take this divine spring and go there to build a pavilion. Tell the outside world that it’s my palace.”
Shaohua handed over the divine spring, which she had obtained from the Cycle Sea and nurtured in the Kunlun Immortal Range, to her senior disciple.
Nan Jinping took the miniature divine spring without asking any more questions.
“Remember my words and pass them down to future generations of holy masters. If anything happens in the future, you can move the holy land there,” Shaohua said calmly.
Some things needed to be prepared for the worst.
The situation with her parents’ bodies would not happen again, but Shaohua knew that her lineage had too many enemies.
Although she had reached an oral agreement with the forbidden zones, once she was gone, the Yaochi Holy Land would inevitably become a target, making it difficult to remain safe.
Even the many holy lands of the Big Dipper Realm wouldn’t want a group of women to always overshadow them.
Two emperors from one sect, too glorious.
As the saying goes, the taller the tree, the more wind it catches. The more prosperous a force is, the more vulnerable it becomes, as countless eyes will always be watching you.
The moment you show a weakness, the moment someone sees a sign of vulnerability, they will attack you en masse.
The Yaochi Holy Land’s creed was to be kind to others, but human hearts are treacherous, and others may not be willing to be kind to you.
Shaohua couldn’t always protect the Yaochi Holy Land. Just like the fierce person who went through numerous transformations and still faced problems, she didn’t know what the future held and had to prepare in advance.
“Ha, why so quiet? It’s just a precaution. No need to be so solemn. Come, smile.”
She casually patted Lixingruo’s little head and said, "Oh, right, there’s one more thing I almost forgot to mention. I want to seal you both."
"Huh?" Lixingruo’s red lips parted, her expression somewhat bewildered.
She had only recently broken through to the Quasi-Emperor realm and still had a lot of room for improvement. Moreover, she had the Elixir of Immortality, which could extend her life for another lifetime. Was she really going to be sealed away now?
"Everything will be as Master commands", Nan Jinping respectfully replied.
"Wouldn’t you like to know the reason?" Shaohua asked.
"The world Master sees is far broader than ours, spanning the past, present, and future. There must be a reason for this", Nan Jinping replied solemnly. "Besides, how could a disciple disobey Master’s decision?"
"Being too rigid is detrimental to cultivation. You should indeed set aside your affairs", Shaohua said, standing up and taking their hands, leading them to a courtyard.
The scene before her eyes brought back memories of her parents drugging and cursing her. Her lips curled slightly, and she personally cooked a meal for her two disciples.
It was a familiar place, a scene that seemed all too familiar.
"Don’t be sad. Trust me, we will meet again in the future!" Shaohua made a solemn promise.
Five hundred years later, she personally sealed her two disciples with the Immortal Core and took their parents, settling them in the Chaotic Heaven Domain.
Even the most virtuous have their selfish moments, and Shaohua was no exception. She didn’t want any mistakes that would make her regret it.
During these five hundred years, the imperial palace had been completed. While it couldn’t compare to the grandeur of the Yaochi Holy Land, which had been expanded multiple times, it was elegant and refined, rich in spiritual aura and immortal energy.
Shaohua walked every inch of the land, inscribing one array after another to firmly protect it.
She transplanted two Spirit Awakening Tea trees from Kunlun Mountain, planting one in the Yaochi Holy Land and the other in the imperial palace. The second-generation Peaches of Immortality Tree, grown from a divine seed, was also planted beside the divine spring in the palace.
Another five hundred years passed, and Shaohua, despite Lan Ling’s opposition, forcibly suppressed her and sealed her in the Immortal Core as well.
Finally, there was no one left in the world who could converse with her.
Afterward, the universe remained peaceful.
Shaohua first went to the Underworld, retrieving the Nether Artifact Shards she had collected but never used, and gathered materials in the Netherland to refine a long banner, using it to suppress the numerous ghost soldiers and generals in the Underworld.
Then she returned to the Big Dipper Realm, closing herself in the imperial palace for over two thousand years, seeing no one during that time.
She did only one thing: rewriting her scriptures, nitpicking and thoroughly revising and perfecting them.
By this time, Shaohua had been an Ascended being for seven thousand years, and she had lived for seven thousand years before her Ascension. By all accounts, she was in the twilight of her first lifetime.
Rumors began to circulate outside: the Eastern Empress had passed away, a supreme figure had left the mortal world.
"Ah, no one is coming to bother me. They all know I have the Elixir of Immortality", Shaohua said with a hint of melancholy, but a glint of determination in her eyes.
This time was as expected, but the next time would be different.
No one knew that she had already lived a second lifetime.
When the time came, everyone would think she was in the twilight of her second lifetime, but in reality, her third lifetime would just be beginning!
A terrifying surge of vital blood qi pierced the heavens, spreading out and enveloping the entire imperial palace, shaking the Big Dipper Realm and affecting the entire universe.
Fourteen thousand years later, the Eastern Empress was reborn, living her "second lifetime."
