Peng! Peng! Peng!
The Gray-Robed Man’s subordinates flew backward like sandbags, scattering in all directions.
In Su Chen’s hands, they didn’t even have time to strike back—no chance to resist before collapsing.
Watching this unfold, the Gray-Robed Man’s eyelid twitched violently. He roared in fury, “Worthless trash!”
Without waiting, he stomped his foot, propelling himself forward like a tiger bursting from the jungle.
“Rampant Tiger Art!”
He snarled, his body morphing into a bestial form, every movement radiating savage power.
His cold, predatory gaze locked onto Su Chen, marking him as prey.
“Die!”
A guttural voice rumbled from his throat as he lunged, claws slashing like tiger talons toward Su Chen.
Facing the attack, Su Chen stood motionless, expressionless.
As the howling wind of the strike neared, Su Chen’s eyes sharpened. He shook his head slightly, then struck with a single palm.
Pa! Dong! Bazi!
From the moment he moved to the Gray-Robed Man’s flight and crash into the dirt, only seconds passed.
Pu!
Though Su Chen hadn’t activated his Vital Force, the blow was devastating—a single strike left the Gray-Robed Man critically injured.
Blood spewed from his mouth, his face paling. He twisted to see Su Chen approaching, terror flashing in his eyes.
“You… don’t come closer! I’m from the Medicine Gang—you can’t kill me!”
His voice cracked with panic, desperation driving him to invoke the Medicine Gang’s name, hoping Su Chen would spare him out of fear.
But Su Chen answered with a merciless kick, sending the Gray-Robed Man flying. When he hit the ground, only a dull thud remained.
After eliminating him, Su Chen turned to the others. They were already critically injured, paralyzed under his piercing gaze, unable to flee.
“Please… don’t kill us! We know nothing!”
“It was Qian Ao who wanted you dead—we were just following orders!”
“Mercy!”
Su Chen said nothing. Soon, their pleas fell silent, leaving only corpses.
He searched the bodies calmly, his expression serene.
“Hmm?”
When he reached a male underling, he noticed the man’s clenched fist gripping several silver taels tightly—so tightly Su Chen had to pry them loose.
“Even in death, you cling to worldly wealth? Let me take it off your hands.”
Shaking his head, he kicked the Gray-Robed Man once more before leaving.
Later, the Medicine Gang discovered the bodies, sparking fury in their leader, Jin Peng.
The Medicine Town fell into panic, whispers of dread spreading like wildfire.
…
Lanye Town.
A chilling aura filled Wei Jie’s courtyard.
Peng!
Wei Jie vented his pent-up rage, kicking a ten-centimeter-thick stone slab into pieces.
Not satisfied, he shattered the surrounding training stones one by one.
Dust billowed as the courtyard erupted into chaos before he finally stopped.
Tat-tat-tat.
Hastened footsteps approached. A subordinate reported, “Guardian Enforcer, today Lanye Town still shows no sign of the one-armed man or any suspects.”
Hearing the same news daily, Wei Jie sighed but ordered, “Understood. Keep watching.”
“Yes!”
After the subordinate left, Wei Jie wiped his brow, sat down, and drifted into thought.
Since deliberately leaking information to the City Authorities, he’d prepared thoroughly in Lanye Town.
Now secretly controlled by the Pure Land Sect, the town would alert him instantly if any suspect appeared.
He’d expected either the City Authorities or Su Chen to show up—but neither had.
Daily reports brought the same result: no trace of the City Authorities.
Disappointment gnawed at him. He’d hoped to crush their arrogance, but they refused to take the bait.
As for Su Chen, he’d vowed to ensure his death if he came—but Su Chen never appeared.
“No matter. Soon… your reckoning will come.”
His gaze turned icy, his grip crushing the teacup in his hand. Hot tea spilled onto the stone table.
…
Meanwhile, Su Chen had returned to White Stone City from Medicine Town. After half a month away, he felt a warm familiarity at home.
After tidying up, he visited his favorite tavern, ordering a lavish meal and eating leisurely.
He occasionally glanced at the opposite street—once Black Water Gang’s territory, now claimed by an unknown new faction.
From a man nearly crushed by gangs to a martial cultivator, his strength had grown beyond recognition.
After finishing his meal, he left, shaking his head at the inflated prices.
Night fell, the streets empty and desolate as cold winds accompanied him home.
Inside his room, candlelight flickered over a pile of silver taels on the table.
“This Medicine Town trip netted 43 taels from looting, plus the 70 I had—still short 80 of the 200 needed for the next Iron Shirt enhancement.”
He wasn’t rushed. A plan already formed in his mind.
After securing the silver, he resumed studying his medical manual.
Over the next three days, he checked on Hong Ming, finding his injuries nearly healed. Su Chen rarely left, dedicating himself to the Ancient Medical Manual and poison formulas.
Though his skills remained limited to Dreamweaver Powder, its potency had grown.
By chance, he discovered a herb with hallucinogenic side effects in the Secret Medical Manual. Blending it into Dreamweaver Powder proved shockingly effective—just a pinch left Shadowpaw unconscious for a day, nearly getting him buried by neighbors before Su Chen revived him.
Unfortunately, human testing remained impossible, limiting his understanding of the effects.
Still, he felt satisfied with his progress.
One day, Su Chen changed clothes, resuming his One-Armed Yang Guo disguise, and left White Stone City.
“After all this time, the hype over ‘Yang Guo’ should’ve died down. Time to earn some silver.”
