Chapter 549: The Origin River
Chapter 549: The Origin River
The Great Xuan World.
At the Seven Profound Sect's rear mountain, not all Heaven Man Masters had ventured to the Origin Site. Some, like Chen Mu's master, Qin Mengjun, remained.
Qin Mengjun stood alone, gazing intently at the diagram Chen Mu had left behind. At times, she was lost in her thoughts, at others, she was stunned, and occasionally, she would sigh.
As time passed, Qin Mengjun gradually calmed her mind, feeling a myriad of emotions. She muttered to herself, "His current realm is indeed beyond my comprehension."
Many years ago, Chen Mu had become her disciple. Now, with just this diagram, he was guiding her cultivation journey, leading her to surpass the Heaven Man Barrier!
After achieving the Heaven Man Realm, she could sense the profound depth of Chen Mu's realm from the diagram, leaving her in awe.
"I wonder how they are doing," she wondered, her mind settling.
Qin Mengjun left the rear mountain valley and stepped into the sunlight. She gazed southwest, thinking of Chen Mu and the others who had ventured to the Origin Site.
Nearly two months had passed since their departure, and none had returned. She wondered about Chen Mu's progress and safety.
...
"Roar..."
Two Ninth-Rank Beasts saw Chen Mu fleeing and roared in anger. They chased after him, but their speed couldn't match his. After a while, they lost his trail.
Once Chen Mu's presence faded from their perception, the two beasts let out low roars and gradually stopped. After looking around, they soon dispersed.
Swish!
Chen Mu merged with the void, heading towards the center of the Origin Site.
In this state, it was difficult for ordinary people to sense him through the void. However, deep within the Origin Site, there were Ninth-Rank Beasts capable of detecting him if they got too close.
Void Beasts could naturally sense the void's fluctuations, and Creation Beasts could perceive the essence of life. Yet, neither could keep up with Chen Mu's speed.
Time Path Beasts, superior in speed, had weaker perception. Chen Mu often detected them first and detoured, avoiding any disturbance.
In the core region of the Origin Site, where Ninth-Rank Beasts roamed, Chen Mu advanced calmly. Even when he accidentally startled a couple of Ninth-Rank Beasts, he quickly escaped.
After traveling several more miles, Chen Mu's vision finally revealed a white line connecting heaven and earth. It stretched across the horizon, like a brushstroke on a canvas, a white line from above to below.
"That is..." Chen Mu gazed from afar, sensing an ancient and majestic aura.
The Origin River!
Even from a distance, on his first sight, Chen Mu knew what it was. As he beheld the white line piercing the heavens and earth, a word formed in his mind.
Chen Mu paused briefly, absorbing the ancient and profound aura. Then, he continued forward, and as he approached, the white line grew larger, expanding before his eyes.
The Origin River.
This wasn't a river flowing from high to low but a river that traversed the Origin Site! As Chen Mu drew closer, he felt an immense and boundless aura, standing between heaven and earth. In the raging river, every droplet contained the power of the void, time, and creation.
Flowing from the sky, the Origin River seemed to be the source of all existence in the Origin Site, the very birth of the Vangu Empty Domain. Its majestic aura made Chen Mu, after many years, feel small again, reminiscent of his mortal days gazing at towering mountains and the vast sky.
"Such power..." Chen Mu was left in awe as he beheld the river.
What immense power! Each droplet of the river entangled the forces of the void, time, and creation. Every droplet seemed capable of birthing countless pocket universes, an endless flow of worlds.
Though Chen Mu had merged with the three Primordial Daos, gaining recognition from the Primordial Dao, and could manipulate the three Primordial forces, his power was insignificant compared to the Origin River. If he fell into it, creating even a small ripple would be extremely difficult.
Chen Mu felt that even a true Divine Realm existence would be instantly annihilated by the river's force. The vast Great Xuan World itself would shatter under the impact of this river in an instant.
"Origin River, Origin River, the source of countless worlds in the Vangu Empty Domain, a supreme power, a wonder of the cosmos. Compared to this, even the Divine Realm seems insignificant..." Chen Mu muttered to himself, snapping out of his awe.
He took a deep breath, calming his mind, and continued forward.
As he approached the Origin River, he felt an invisible pressure weighing on him. The surrounding void became viscous, like a swamp, making progress increasingly difficult the deeper he ventured.
Chen Mu walked further, the oppressive force becoming more intense, to the point where even he couldn't remain unaffected. Just as he was about to enter the Void State to resist it, a sudden realization struck him. He immediately took out the Origin Crystal, upon which his Life Imprint was etched.
The Origin Crystal hovered in his hand and instantly radiated a dazzling light, illuminating the area within a radius of about ten meters and enveloping Chen Mu within its glow.
Under this radiant cover, Chen Mu finally felt the pressure on his body lessen significantly.
"Just as I thought." Chen Mu sighed in relief.
He was still quite a distance from the Origin River. If he had to resort to the Void State to withstand the pressure at this location, even with all his might, he doubted he could get close to the riverbank, let alone cast the Origin Crystal into it.
After all, he had attained enlightenment in all three Primordial Daos, reaching the pinnacle below the Divine Realm. There was no further advancement possible at this level. If even he struggled to approach the Origin River, it was likely that no one could imprint their Life Imprint within it.
The Origin Crystal seemed to be the key to approaching the Origin River. It appeared to be a part of the river itself, as if it were the river water transformed. When it unleashed its radiance, it could repel the oppressive force in the area.
Chen Mu also realized that only a complete Origin Crystal could have this effect.
Chen Mu held the Origin Crystal in one hand and continued walking forward. After a while, he finally reached the vicinity of the Origin River. Looking down, he witnessed a breathtaking sight.
The Origin River not only pierced through heaven and earth but also penetrated the void!
Chen Mu saw the river water pass through the earth and converge into a white line at its end, extending through the void. The void appeared shattered, but in a peculiar way, resembling nine unique petals.
Having cultivated the Void Dao, Chen Mu knew that these weren't mere 'petals' but the manifestation of the shattered void. Each petal represented a layer of the void! Nine petals forming a lotus symbolized the shattering of nine layers of the void!
"Ninefold Heaven..." Chen Mu stared at the deepest part of the earth, where the Origin River narrowed into a white line, and the shattered nine-petal lotus, feeling awe for a moment.
He understood that each shattered layer of the void corresponded to a level of heaven.
The end of the Origin River, piercing through nine layers of the void, indicated that the power there had reached the level of Ninefold Heaven!
This was the pinnacle of the Divine Realm. Although Chen Mu knew from Xun Mu that there were even higher realms beyond Ninefold Heaven, like the Primordial Venerable who overlooked the entire Endless Universe, Ninefold Heaven was undoubtedly the true ruler of the Endless Universe.
The Vangu Divine Lord, who ruled over the Vangu Empty Domain and watched over thousands of major realms and countless minor ones, was only at the Eighth Heaven of the Divine Realm. He hadn't reached Ninefold Heaven, yet his power was enough to make the Demon Race wary.
Ninefold Heaven? That was an unmatched existence that could roam the Endless Universe with impunity.
If Chen Mu possessed the power to shatter Ninefold Heaven, how dare the Demon Race invade the Great Xuan World or act recklessly before him? They would likely retreat at the first sign, fearing his wrath and the consequences it might bring upon the entire Demon Realm.
Chen Mu fixed his gaze on the white line that pierced through Ninefold Heaven. He saw the powers of the Void, Time, and Creation Daos intertwined and twisted into a single line, along with the supreme might of the entire Origin River, inexplicably concentrated on that line.
Chen Mu struggled to comprehend this power.
In the end, he shook his head, withdrew his gaze, and looked at the Origin Crystal in his palm.
The path must be taken step by step, and the stairs must be climbed one by one. Chen Mu rose from humble beginnings, relying on his own efforts to reach where he was today. He wouldn't get ahead of himself. He understood that the next step before him was entering the Divine Realm, the first step on the path to immortality.
His accumulation of power was profound, and with the imminent completion of his Life Imprint and the additional opportunity for Primordial Body Infusion, he wouldn't be weak even within the Divine Realm.
The Origin Crystal's radiance began to tremble slightly, as if it had reached its limit.
Chen Mu glanced at the Origin Crystal in his hand and, without hesitation, threw it towards the Origin River. Simultaneously, he quickly retreated to a distance, moving away from the river.
As the Origin Crystal left his hand, the light enveloping Chen Mu began to dim rapidly. However, he retreated at an incredible speed, and in an instant, he had moved back several hundred li, reaching the area where he could comfortably withstand the pressure from the Origin River. Then, he slowly continued his retreat.
On the other side, the Origin Crystal, after being thrown by Chen Mu, traced a long arc in the air, like a meteor streaking across the sky, radiating a brilliant light before finally falling into the Origin River that pierced through heaven and earth.
The light faded, and in an instant, everything disappeared, leaving only the Origin River, still piercing the void and hanging between heaven and earth.
