Chapter 549: Chang Qi Rui
Chapter 549: Chang Qi Rui
Learning that the subsequent evolution of the Green Scale Dragon was the Deepsea Dragon Serpent, Li Qian was pleasantly surprised.
"The Zhonghai Beast University informed me about the Green Scale Dragon's further evolution, clearly intending to repay the favor for the Nine Dragon Paulownia Tree and the Three-Legged Golden Phoenix." Li Qian muttered to himself.
This news might not hold much value for others, but to Li Qian, it meant something different.
Qi Zai was his first contracted companion beast, and in the future, even if it couldn't evolve further, its strength and potential would be limited. Li Qian would still not give up.
At that time, this contract position would become a burden, holding him back. Therefore, he had to figure out the evolution method of the Green Scale Dragon.
Zhonghai Beast University delivered this news at this critical moment, which was like a lifesaver for Li Qian.
Upon receiving this news, Li Qian was delighted, but he didn't stop walking. Instead, he headed straight out of the Jade Research Facility and made his way to the Potion Academy.
The Potion Academy was located in the northwest corner of Shazhou Beastmaster University, surrounded by lush greenery and verdant forests. The environment looked quite pleasant.
The Potion Academy occupied a significant area in Shazhou Beastmaster University, and both Li Qian and Wu You were visiting for the first time. They were unfamiliar with the place.
Therefore, Li Qian had called Dean Ou Yang of the Potion Academy in advance, and the dean told him to come over, assuring him that someone would guide them.
The two arrived at the area of the Potion Academy and stood on a main road, waiting quietly. Soon, a bearded man approached them.
"Hello, Li Qian. Our Dean Ou Yang has informed me, and I'll take you there," the bearded man said politely as he reached Li Qian.
"I wonder how I should address this teacher. Thank you for guiding us," Li Qian replied politely.
Seeing that this bearded man was sent by Dean Ou Yang to guide them, Li Qian thought he might be a high-ranking teacher at the Potion Academy.
Li Qian asked politely, but upon hearing this, the bearded man's face turned bitter. "I'm Chang Qi Rui, Dean Ou Yang's student. I'm only twenty-five years old."
Li Qian's lips twitched slightly at Chang Qi Rui's somewhat resentful self-introduction, and his face showed embarrassment.
Chang Qi Rui specifically emphasized his age for a reason, and Li Qian didn't need to guess what it was. It was like many people trying to prove their virility by having someone step on the corresponding spot on the soles of their feet, causing them to foam at the mouth. They wouldn't admit it, and the same principle applied here.
However, Li Qian felt quite wronged. With Chang Qi Rui's appearance, he looked more like thirty-five years old than twenty-five.
Struggling to control himself and trying not to laugh, Li Qian even stepped on Wu You's foot beside him. He had no choice; Winged women had a low sense of humor, and he was struggling to maintain his expression.
"So, it's Senior Chang. I was just wondering how there could be such a young teacher!" Li Qian quickly spoke, his words flowing freely, not caring if they sounded insincere.
Beside him, Wu You's face twitched upon hearing these words. In her mind, she thought, "Li Qian's ability to talk nonsense is quite strong."
After a brief interruption, the two followed Chang Qi Rui's footsteps and walked through the Potion Academy. Soon, they arrived in front of a wooden house.
The wooden house was tall, but not too tall. It was considered tall because five-story wooden houses were rare, and it wasn't too tall because there were many buildings of similar height.
The walls of the wooden house were a yellowish-brown color, resembling tree bark. The roof was indigo, and from a distance, it looked like a sturdy tree.
It blended well with the surrounding environment.
Chang Qi Rui led Li Qian and Wu You to the wooden house and gestured for them to enter.
Li Qian and Wu You exchanged a glance and walked in without hesitation. As they walked, Chang Qi Rui began to introduce the place, "This is Dean Ou Yang's laboratory."
"This is a laboratory..." Li Qian nodded slightly, thinking that the area wasn't large, so it was unlikely to be a teaching building. It made sense as a laboratory.
Following Chang Qi Rui, they passed through the wooden house's foyer and entered the backyard. On the backyard wall, a winding stone staircase led to the fifth floor, the top floor.
Upon closer inspection, it wasn't a stone staircase but a wooden one that led all the way to the top floor.
The three climbed the stairs at a steady pace and soon reached the top floor. At the entrance, there was a small plot of land with a mushroom growing on it.
The mushroom was large, with spots all over it, looking quite splendid. Wu You was curious and couldn't help but reach out to touch it, as if to verify if it was real.
However, just as she extended her hand, Li Qian stopped her.
Seeing the puzzled look from the Winged woman, Li Qian explained, "I advise you not to touch it. This mushroom is a Wolf Pattern Fungus, a Wood Poison Dual Attribute companion beast. Although its strength is average, it possesses a poisonous body trait. If you accidentally get infected by this poison, you won't die, but you'll itch so much that you'll roll around on the ground."
"That's exaggerated!" Wu You immediately retracted her hand, slightly skeptical of Li Qian's words, but she had no intention of testing the poison on herself.
"Li Qian, you have a good eye," Chang Qi Rui said, confirming Li Qian's words. Without hesitation, he walked under the mushroom's canopy and sat on a tree stump, patiently waiting.
Li Qian glanced at the still-closed wooden house door, knowing that Dean Ou Yang was likely still conducting experiments. He didn't intend to disturb her.
Following Chang Qi Rui's lead, Li Qian also sat on a tree stump under the mushroom.
Wu You hesitated but eventually followed, stepping under the mushroom and sitting on a tree stump.
After about five minutes, the wooden door finally opened with a creak.
