Chapter 548: Helena and Nearly Headless Nick
Chapter 548: Helena and Nearly Headless Nick
The next day was the weekend, and early in the morning, Laton left Hogwarts with a letter in hand.
In any case, Kyle definitely didn't want to be involved in the Most Charming Smile Award, and he hoped that Rita Skeeter would get the message and drop the idea early on.
After completing this, Kyle finally finished the bread on his plate and prepared to borrow a couple of books from the library to pass the time.
However, just as he reached the stairs, a ghost passed through the wall and appeared before him.
"I've been waiting for you..."
Helena stared at Kyle, "Today is the weekend, perhaps you can fulfill your previous promise."
Kyle patted his head; no wonder he had always felt like he had forgotten something, and now he finally remembered.
"Sorry, I should have looked for you sooner, Greer... um, Lady Ravenclaw."
Kyle said, but he felt that this title sounded a bit odd.
Helena herself also thought it was a bit strange. After a moment of silence, she said, "Just call me Helena."
"Follow me, I think we need a quiet place."
Helena once again passed through the wall and entered an empty classroom next to the stairs.
Kyle followed her inside.
"Well, let me think about where to start..." He pondered for a moment and said, "About fifty years ago, there was a Hogwarts student named Tom Riddle... He obtained the Ravenclaw Crown that had been missing for several centuries."
After saying this, Kyle quietly watched Helena, waiting for her reaction.
"Tom Riddle..."
Helena spoke softly, "I know... It was me who told him the location of the crown... And the crown wasn't missing; I stole it and hid it in a hollow tree in the Albanian Forest."
She closed her eyes and continued, "I don't know why I told him... That student named Riddle, he... was very likable... He seemed to be understanding... and compassionate... just like you."
Kyle couldn't help but twitch at the corner of his mouth. He thought Helena should have stopped at the first part and didn't need to say the last sentence.
Unfortunately, Helena was unaware of Kyle's thoughts.
"I've observed that you're also well-liked in the castle, and every ghost has a favorable impression of you, including the most mischievous Peeves."
"Um... we're all friends, and I get along well with them." Kyle said, then awkwardly changed the subject, "Where was I... Oh, right.
"After Tom Riddle obtained the crown, he turned it into a Horcrux..."
Hearing this, Helena suddenly raised her head.
"A Horcrux... that most evil of dark magic... How dare he defile the Ravenclaw Crown like that..."
This was the first time Kyle had seen a ghost so angry, with their body floating in mid-air, trembling uncontrollably...
"Don't get too worked up, Lady Helena, the matter is resolved."
Kyle quickly said, "Remember the person who spoke to me that day? He was Niko Lemer, the greatest alchemist in the wizarding world, and Horcruxes are no problem for him."
Hearing this, Helena finally calmed down a bit.
Then, Kyle briefly recounted how he found the Horcrux crown in the Room of Requirement and sent it to Niko Lemer.
During this time, Helena listened quietly, saying nothing and asking no questions.
Until Kyle finished speaking, and after waiting for a while, she finally seemed to come back to her senses and asked again:
"I heard from Sir Nicholas of Minsy that... you saw my mother." Her voice was small and trembling, "When was that, and how was she..."
"I can only say that it was during my third year, but I'm not sure about the time across the dimensions. I only know that all four founders were present at that time.
Kyle recalled carefully and said, "As for Lady Ravenclaw, she seemed fine, but she didn't talk much."
"My mother is always like that." Helena looked into Kyle's eyes, "If... you see her again, can you pass on a message for me?"
"Although I'd be happy to..." Kyle said, "But Lady Helena, that's almost impossible."
The last time he saw the Four Giants was also because of Salazar Slytherin.
Although Niko Lemer had already fixed the Time Transference Device, it wasn't the same as before.
Retreating a hundred years might not be a problem, but a thousand years... it's probably not possible.
And even if it were possible, Kyle wouldn't do it; the risk was too great, and he didn't want to die just yet.
"Maybe that's how it is." Helena seemed lost in thought and said vaguely, "Thank you for making up for my mistake... thank you..."
After speaking, she walked through the wall and left the classroom again.
Kyle was also about to go to the library, but when he turned around, he saw half a head sticking out of the wall behind him, not knowing when it had grown there.
"Sir Nicholas? What are you doing here?"
The Correct Version is available at 69 Book Bar! 6=9+Book_Bar.
Nearly Headless Nick was startled and hastily retracted his head, but the next second he floated back in.
"I just happened to overhear..."
It was clear that Nearly Headless Nick seemed to want to explain, but he soon gave up.
"Oh... young Kyle..." he said carefully, "I know Lady Greer is charming, but she's not suitable for you. There are other young ladies like you in the castle... I mean, you should look at them more."
"I think you misunderstood." Kyle understood his meaning and felt a bit speechless.
Goodness, Nearly Headless Nick must have thought he was on a date with Helena... not to mention that Helena was already over a thousand years old, and she was a ghost.
Dating a ghost, how did Nearly Headless Nick come to this conclusion? Did he shake his head so hard that he shook his brain out too?
"We were just talking about serious matters, about Lady Rowena Ravenclaw." Kyle said, "And this was what you told her. I met the Four Giants when I was in my third year."
"Oh... that's right..." Nearly Headless Nick stammered, "But you should understand, for us ghosts, this is the only fun we have most of the time."
Kyle shrugged, noncommittal.
Nearly Headless Nick continued, "And I mainly wanted to remind you that Bloody Baron is Lady Greer's crazy suitor. He was just outside with me."
"But now it seems unnecessary."
Then he poked his head out of the wall, "Hey, Baron, did you hear that? They're... strange, where's Baron?"
At this point, Kyle wasn't planning to continue talking to this eccentric ghost. He opened the door and walked out of the classroom.
"Oh, wait, I have something else to say."
Nearly Headless Nick caught up from behind, "Well, actually, I lied earlier. I didn't just pass by; I came specifically to look for you."
"You're looking for me?" Kyle asked, "What's the matter?"
"The Headmaster is looking for you."
Nearly Headless Nick said, "I just met Albus on the eighth floor while practicing head shaking. He asked me to tell you that if you have time, please go to the Headmaster's Office as soon as possible. By the way, today's password is Peppermint Sprout."
"Oh, okay." Kyle nodded, "Thank you."
"You're welcome, I'm happy to help."
