Chapter 546: Not Even the Sky Can Rain Without My Permission
Chapter 546: Not Even the Sky Can Rain Without My Permission
"Dibani!"
The other transvestites shrieked in alarm before charging forward as one.
"Dammit, you dare injure Dibani!"
"Let me show you the power of our new human bodies!"
Facing their charge, Lida withdrew her foot and quickly finished her snacks. She spread her arms wide at the waist, left foot stepping forward over the right.
"Asura Path!"
Whoosh!
Her figure seemed to multiply into thousands, appearing before each transvestite simultaneously.
"Black Rope Heaven Flash!"
The figures vanished, merging back into one. Lida returned to her original position.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The transvestites collapsed, eyes rolling back as they convulsed on the ground, clearly drained of all physical strength.
This was her brother's technique. After witnessing it, Lida had developed her own version called [Instant Thousand Strikes]. If she could handle the advanced version, the original was naturally effortless.
"Capture them and interrogate properly!"
Lida scoffed at the fallen figures, ordering the Navy.
Lieutenant Navy snapped a salute. "Yes, Lida Commander!"
"Hey Kuro, let's go back?"
Lida turned to Kuro, but noticed he was staring at the sky.
"Such a commotion. Making this mess without respecting Old Man's presence in Shabondy?"
His Observation Haki sensed the chaos below.
"Lida, you return first. I'll come later."
"What are you doing?"
"Perhaps Old Man's been too quiet, making some forget the rules of Shabondy."
Kuro bit down on his cigar and strode toward a specific direction.
Boom!
A massive carnivorous beetle rampaged through Shabondy's streets, forcing nearby Marines into retreat. Trees and buildings crumbled under its charge. Though not directly attacking people, its sheer size blocked all passage.
Bang! Bang!
Boom!
Guns and cannons alike proved useless against its armored hide.
"Usopp!"
From the shadow of a nearby building, a figure resembling a rhinoceros beetle turned skyward.
"A man's farewell needs no face-to-face. Set sail, Usopp! I'll hold them off!"
Hiss!!
"Roar!!"
As he spoke, a pained roar erupted.
Turning, they saw the beetle's shell sliced open by a massive gash, green ichor spraying as its body flipped over.
Before it stood a man in a black coat, wielding a Black Blade with a cigar clenched in his teeth, face twisted in irritation.
The Marines recognized him. "Golden Lion Vice Admiral!"
"Vice Admiral, apologies. We couldn't move forward because of this unexpected beetle", a Marine officer saluted.
Kuro exhaled smoke. "Maintain order, evacuate civilians, and check for injuries."
"Yes sir!" The Marines sprang into action.
"Vice Admiral?"
From the building's shadow, Hercules froze, then turned to flee. "Better retreat for now."
"Not so fast."
As he moved, a voice sounded beside him.
When had Kuro appeared there?
The Black Blade's edge pressed before his chest.
"Dressed so suspiciously, hiding your face? Very shady", Kuro sneered.
"That.Navy officer, I'm just an innocent civilian!" Hercules touched his mask, sweat beading beneath.
"Whether you're innocent or not, we'll find out soon enough."
"Fine."
"Hey, take him away."
"Yes sir!"
A Marine officer approached with a Transponder Snail. "What's going on? I told you to send reinforcements immediately!"
"Apologies! Sudden rainwater ruined all our firearms and cannons!"
The snail crackled with panicked voices and rain sounds.
"Rain? Impossible! It's clear here. Where's this rain coming from?" the Marine questioned.
Rain?
Kuro glanced toward dark clouds pouring rain over a specific area. His Observation Haki confirmed it.
Tch! He slashed his blade horizontally, unleashing a whirlwind that struck the clouds like a tornado. The rain dispersed, the updraft shaking a hidden sky island before it drifted away.
"Ahhh! The rain stopped!"
The snail echoed with relieved voices.
"Repair your weapons and hurry to reinforce. Golden Lion Vice Admiral is here." The officer hung up.
"Back to work", Kuro dismissed.
"Yes sir!"
As Kuro turned, a surprised voice called out.
"You! Why are you on this island?!"
Kuro turned to see a floating girl with an umbrella. "Perona?"
"Still here?!" she gasped.
"You're the one who asked", Kuro narrowed his eyes, biting his cigar. "Old Man's stationed here. Where else would I go?"
"You're a Vice Admiral now! Shouldn't you be in the New World?!"
"Hmph." Kuro glared. "Don't tell Old Man that! And what are you doing here? Aren't you with Dracule?"
"None of your business!" Perona floated back, hiding behind her parasol.
"You're on Old Man's island and say it's none of his business? Don't think following Dracule gives you free rein!"
Kuro spat. "Listen, I'm in a bad mood today. Don't push me, or even Dracule Mihawk's reputation won't save you from Impel Down!"
"I'm just... bringing someone here", Perona stammered.
"Send who?"
"Just a friend! Even Navy can't question everything!" she protested.
Kuro signaled two Marines. "Monitor her. Report any suspicious energy."
He growled at Perona. "If I hear you causing trouble here, you're going to Impel Down!"
With that, he strode toward the Marine base.
...
Meanwhile, at 66GR Marine Base.
"Here it is, the Marine Base!"
Luffy's crew arrived. He raised his fist toward the fortress. "Sunny, we're here to get you!"
Wham!
Nami's fist slammed into his head. "Stop shouting! You'll attract the Marines!"
"Your voice is just as loud, Nami", Usopp waved helplessly.
"Blame Luffy!" Nami roared back.
