Chapter 545: The Agreement
Chapter 545: The Agreement
Wade looked at Anthony and, after a moment of silence, said, "Professor Moody is an exceptional Auror, and few can match his combat skills."
"I know, but it's not just Professor Moody. Professors Troka and Abigail are all outstanding wizards."
Anthony earnestly said, "But being an excellent wizard doesn't necessarily mean they can teach excellent students. Kevin still hasn't mastered the Impediment Jinx, and if it weren't for his good memory, he might not have passed his Defense Against the Dark Arts class last semester!"
"But you're different, Wade... We all know what Neville Longbottom was like when he started. Apart from Herbology, he wasn't good at anything."
"Don't even compare him to Kevin. Even Hopkins from Hufflepuff is more agile. Even now, Neville's memory is still terrible!"
"But despite his clumsiness, his grades have gradually improved to an average student level after joining your Ssc. He even has occasional standout moments."
"Neville always says that he's able to do these things not because he's gotten smarter, but because of your help—"
"Wade, you're the best teacher I've ever seen. You know how to adjust your teaching methods based on each person's strengths, helping them quickly learn spells."
After a pause, Anthony continued, "Of course, I know my request might seem abrupt, but the tournament is dangerous. Students who want to participate should at least have the ability to protect themselves. Could you spare some time to give me some pointers? I promise I won't take up too much of your time!"
Wade looked into his sincere eyes and suddenly said, "Anthony, you're more suited to be Head Boy than Percy Weasley."
"Huh?" Anthony blinked.
"Tomorrow morning, after I get my timetable, I'll see when I'm free and can give a lecture on spell techniques."
Wade added, "Ask a professor if we can apply for an empty classroom."
"No problem!" Anthony's eyes lit up, and he replied enthusiastically, "We'll handle all the preparations and cleanup! If there's any other work, just let me know!"
"But I have my own conditions", Wade said. "I only teach those who are genuinely interested. If anyone is just there for the fun, being half-hearted, or looking for trouble, I'll throw them out. Make that clear to everyone. If they can't accept it, they shouldn't come!"
Anthony grinned, "Deal! I'll make sure to keep the troublemakers out!"
They bumped fists, sealing the agreement.
...
"You really agreed to it?"
At breakfast, when Wade told Michael and the others about his agreement with Anthony last night, Michael said in surprise:
"I thought Anthony was just dreaming! You never used to take on such troublesome things."
Wade shrugged, "Consider it for the school's honor! We can't let other schools think Hogwarts is just a name."
He had received countless care and protection at the school, and it was only right to uphold its reputation.
But Michael still looked incredulous, even tilting his head to seriously examine Wade. "Is this really you, Wade? Not some 'Wade version' homunculus he made, right?"
Theo pushed Michael's head away, exasperated, and leaned in to ask, "Wade, is your spell tutorial only for Ravenclaws, or—"
Wade nodded at him. "Of course, Hufflepuff students are welcome to participate if they want to."
"Great, thank you." Theo said, both happy and relieved. "Actually, people often ask me for guidance, but I know the problem. It just doesn't sound right when I try to explain it..."
Liam chimed in from the side. "If Theo ever becomes a professor, he'll be the second Professor Binns. You can't imagine how boring he is when he talks about spells."
"Are you exaggerating?" Michael looked at Theo, then at Liam, and said, "We chat normally, don't we? How boring can it be?"
Liam thought for a moment. "Have you ever heard a monk chanting?"
Michael: "..."
Theo blushed and gave an embarrassed smile, explaining, "I just feel like I should explain important knowledge clearly. But for some reason, they start dozing off as I talk..."
After the meal, Theo and Liam returned to Hufflepuff. They had Herbology class in the morning, which they shared with Gryffindor.
Michael squinted his eyes, watching the students chatting and laughing as they walked toward the greenhouses.
"Let's go, the first class is Transfiguration." Wade picked up his bag and stood up.
"Um..." Michael responded, standing up and reaching out. "Wade, can I see your timetable?"
Wade handed it over casually.
His timetable had many revisions, as Wade didn't plan to attend some classes with his year, requiring adjustments to time and location.
Michael scanned it quickly. "You're planning to schedule the tutorials on Tuesday afternoons and Friday evenings?"
"Right." Wade said. "I have other commitments at other times."
Michael pondered for a moment. "Trust me, change this plan... The day doesn't matter, but the key is to set the time from five to seven in the morning."
"Huh? That early?" Wade said, surprised.
Even though he was diligent, Wade had recently gotten into the habit of staying up late and usually woke up around seven or eight, sometimes even later.
He was also aware that many students, like Michael, often slept until noon during the holidays.
So when "five" came out of his mouth, it sounded particularly surprising, almost as if he had misspoken, saying "morning" instead of "afternoon."
Seeing no other students nearby, Michael lowered his voice. "You have that thing. Just turn back time after you wake up, and you won't be late. The key is that getting up early will easily weed out the people who are just there for the fun of it."
As they entered the Transfiguration classroom, he saw a few Slytherins who had arrived early and whispered:
"Wade, you haven't been to the maze much, so you might not know—some seventh-year students are really terrible. They haven't even mastered basic spells, and it makes you want to start over with them."
"So, just wait. The news will spread quickly. Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin... from first-year to seventh-year, there might be people who want to join."
He chuckled. "Five in the morning? Some people will only manage to stick it out once or twice before they drop out on their own!"
Wade: "..."
The guy next to him clearly had no intention of participating, which is why he was so ruthless in setting up the schedule.
