Chapter 544: Heading to Wakanda (Third Update)
Chapter 544: Heading to Wakanda (Third Update)
A week after the demon attack.
Everything had returned to normal, except for the occasional news reports.
However, through this incident, everyone, including the governments of all countries, understood one thing: the Avengers were now one of the most indispensable organizations in the world.
From the words of the demon before it was killed, it could be inferred that there were not just one but many powerful demons like it, and more would likely come from Hell to Earth in the future.
Humans are a species that enjoys internal conflict, especially when there is no external threat.
But with a common enemy, they become incredibly united.
Jerry used this characteristic to create the existence of Hell and demons, a constant threat that could destroy the world, to make humanity understand that the most important thing now was to unite the powerful force of the Avengers, rather than trying to break them apart.
As long as the threat of demons persisted, the nations of Earth would at least avoid war with each other.
"I'm going out for a while. I might not be back tonight, so don’t wait for me for dinner."
After saying goodbye to Has, Jerry left the villa and vanished with a Phantom Shift in an uninhabited area.
When he reappeared, he was at the border of Wakanda, a country known as one of the poorest on Earth.
On the surface, Wakanda is a small, remote agricultural nation in East Africa. In reality, it is a country that has existed for thousands of years and possesses the most advanced technology on Earth.
A meteorite fell near Wakanda thousands of years ago, and the Wakandans discovered the rare metal Vibranium within it. They used Vibranium to develop various advanced technologies.
To avoid being affected by external wars, Wakanda used its advanced technology to hide the entire country, occasionally selling small amounts of Vibranium at a price of $10,000 per gram.
Captain America's shield was made from Vibranium that Howard Stark purchased from Wakanda at a high price.
This time, Jerry came to Wakanda to buy some Vibranium to upgrade the twelve sets of Golden Armor, using the Uru Metal Thor brought back from Asgard.
In a few months, the Ancient One would leave this world, and the new Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, would take over. At that time, the dark lord Dormammu, a Dimensional Demon, would invade Earth.
This was a perfect opportunity for Jerry to test the waters.
He wanted to see how his current strength would fare against Dormammu, who would leave his dark dimension to invade Earth. He felt that his current magical power was on par with the Ancient One, and in terms of spell power, the Ancient One’s spells might not be more powerful than his.
The Ancient One could force Dormammu to retreat using the power of the three sanctums.
So, he might be able to face Dormammu as well.
After all, when Dormammu left his dark dimension to invade Earth, his power would be reduced by at least one level.
Moreover, Jerry now possessed the Power Stone and the Reality Stone.
Upgrading the twelve sets of Golden Armor would increase his chances of success when fighting Dormammu.
His physical body was already quite strong, even stronger than Thor's, but it was still his weakest point relative to his other abilities.
Of course, when he transformed into a Disaster Demon, his physical strength greatly increased, possibly even matching the upgraded Golden Armor. However, at that time, he would be using demonic power.
Although he can cast various spells, his magical power is definitely not as strong as his true form's.
Disaster Demons are renowned for their physical prowess, not their magical abilities. The demonic power within his body is far inferior to that of demons known for their magic.
Jerry took a step toward the border of Wakanda. Not far along, a group of Wakandans appeared before him, riding horses and wearing peculiar cloaks, resembling a nomadic tribe.
"Excuse me, sir, beyond here is Wakandan territory. Non-citizens are not permitted to enter."
The lead warrior dismounted and blocked Jerry's path.
Jerry smiled and politely replied:
"I am Witch from the Avengers. I have a matter to discuss with your king. Please inform him of my presence."
Wakanda is extremely isolated and generally does not welcome outsiders. Therefore, Jerry did not use Phantom Shift to enter directly but instead politely requested entry at the border.
He knew that with Wakanda's advanced technology, as soon as he appeared at the border, the border guards would easily detect him unless he deliberately concealed himself with magic.
These border guards, riding horses and wearing cloaks, seemed primitive at first glance.
In reality, that was just an illusion. Their cloaks can release energy shields that regular technological weapons cannot penetrate, far surpassing modern bulletproof vests.
The short knives they carried were not ordinary cold weapons but were made of Vibranium, making them extremely sharp.
Modern army bulletproof vests, bulletproof shields, and various modern weapons would be as ineffective as tofu against these Vibranium knives, slicing through them like butter.
The Wakandan border guard squad of a dozen or so men, even if faced with the world's top special forces, would still be formidable.
Moreover, the situation was likely being transmitted to the border guard headquarters via several invisible drone-like devices in the sky.
If a battle broke out here, a large number of Wakandan guards would immediately rush to the scene.
For Jerry, these Wakandan guards posed no real threat. However, according to his principles, a peaceful resolution through fair exchange was always preferable.
"Witch, an Avenger!"
The lead warrior's face lit up with surprise upon hearing this.
Although Wakandans are quite isolated, they are well-informed about the outside world, thanks to a dedicated intelligence agency that gathers information.
Furthermore, if their citizens wish, they can apply to travel abroad, as long as they do not disclose Wakanda's secrets.
The lead warrior's sister had recently traveled to Sokovia with a group of friends and was rescued by the Avengers when attacked by Ultron's robots.
So, the lead warrior had some knowledge of the Avengers.
However, Witch is supposed to be a woman, and the person in front of him is clearly a man.
Noticing the lead warrior's puzzled gaze, Jerry understood and transformed into Hermione's form:
"Is this better?"
"Please wait a moment, I will inform the king."
Seeing that it was indeed Witch, the lead warrior's expression softened. He signaled to one of his teammates with a glance.
Witch's identity was significant, and the decision to allow entry was not his to make as a border guard.
