Chapter 541: Bao Zhuzhu Takes the Blame
Chapter 541: Bao Zhuzhu Takes the Blame
Gongsun Yanming was caught off guard by a sudden kick and flew backward.
Just as he was about to crash into the carriage behind him, he twisted his waist mid-air, flipped over, and landed on the eaves, dissipating most of the force. He then landed steadily on the ground.
The Miao King narrowed his eyes. "Old man, you've got some skills."
Meanwhile, the spectators had moved from inside the mansion to the outside.
Meng Qianqian, Lu Yuan, and the others were all huddled on the eaves, their heads poking out cautiously.
The otherwise ordinary roofline suddenly sprouted a row of heads.
Yu Zichuan's eyes were the widest, not blinking for a moment.
Tan'er, lying next to him, exclaimed, "Wow, Grandpa Miao King, so cool!"
To the right were Meng Qianqian, Lu Yuan, Si She, Ji Li, and Chen Long.
Shangguan Ling was keeping watch below.
Meng Qianqian whispered, "To withstand Grandpa Miao King's kick without a scratch, Gongsun Yanming is no ordinary man."
"He is, after all, the Pavilion Master of the Thousand Mechanism Pavilion."
As Ji Li spoke, he made a show of opening his fan with a snap.
Chen Long said, "Put it away."
Ji Li retorted, "Don't think I won't dare to hit you just because we're in Prince Jin's mansion?"
Si She asked, "Was Gongsun Yanming always this strong?"
Meng Qianqian didn't respond.
She was young back then and hadn't seen Gongsun Yanming in action. Even if she had, those memories were long gone.
Chen Long recalled, "I've seen Father spar with him. Gongsun Yanming wasn't a match for Father, but over the years, his strength and aura have changed significantly."
After killing Shang Jue, Gongsun Yanming had rid himself of his mental demons and was no longer afraid of anything.
Tan'er's eyes widened. "Fight! Fight!"
Gongsun Yanming's gaze flickered, and he flicked out a burst of inner strength with his finger.
Meng Qianqian immediately pressed Tan'er's head down.
With a whoosh, the inner strength shot past Tan'er's head, piercing through a centuries-old banyan tree behind them.
Tan'er turned to look at the hole in the tree, then touched her own head. "My head, my head!"
The Miao King said, "If you have the skills, fight me. Picking on a little kid, what kind of hero are you?"
He leaped up, clenched his fist, and slammed it hard into Gongsun Yanming.
His movements were so fast that only a blur remained. In the blink of an eye, he was right in front of Gongsun Yanming.
Gongsun Yanming raised his palm to catch the Miao King's fist.
He pressed down!
Crack!
Meng Qianqian heard the sound of a bone breaking.
Flames spread across the sky.
She remembered being shoved into a water vat by her father, and Xiao Qi being shoved into another by her uncle.
Xiao Qi, being young, had cried and climbed out.
Her uncle had rushed to save Xiao Qi but was ambushed by a black-cloaked assassin.
They ... had broken her uncle's hand!
It was this very technique!
She remembered it all ... everything!
Memories flooded her mind, causing her head to throb. She couldn't distinguish between reality and memory. All she saw were endless flames and the bodies of her fallen family.
She trembled violently.
Pain and hatred intertwined, and the bloodshot veins in her eyes grew more prominent.
Suddenly, she felt a lightness in her waist.
When she came to, she was being carried away from the roof by Lu Yuan.
She paused and whispered, "I..."
Lu Yuan looked in the direction of the carriage outside the mansion. "We will avenge them."
"Bone-Dislocating Claw?"
The Miao King chuckled, "A mere trifle!"
His wrist was as unbreakable as black iron.
Gongsun Yanming's move did nothing to it.
The Miao King said, "Let me show you what a real Bone-Dislocating Claw is!"
He changed his fist into a claw, grabbed Gongsun Yanming's wrist, and yanked hard, immobilizing Gongsun Yanming's left arm.
With the other hand, he raised a sharp edge and mercilessly slashed down toward Gongsun Yanming’s arm.
This wasn’t just about dislocating tendons and bones.
This was about breaking bones!
Gongsun Yanming’s eyes turned cold. He slapped his left shoulder, dislocating it to break free from the Miao King’s grip.
Si She: “That’s ruthless.”
The Miao King sneered and, holding a thin blade between his fingertips, sliced Gongsun Yanming’s wrist the moment he pulled his arm free.
Gongsun Yanming retreated several steps and snapped his arm back into place with a loud crack.
He raised his left arm, his eyes flashing with endless killing intent as he looked at his blood-soaked wrist.
The Miao King said leisurely, “You think you can get away that easily, kid?”
Gongsun Yanming’s palm descended.
A terrifying aura instantly swept through the entire street.
“Imperial Tutor!”
Xiao Dezi, out of breath, ran out of Prince Jin’s residence. “Imperial Tutor, where are you?”
Gongsun Yanming reined in his inner strength.
The Miao King discreetly hid the blade.
Xiao Dezi saw the Miao King and said, “Oh, Lord Liu, you’re here too?”
The Miao King, unperturbed, replied, “Yes, it’s too stuffy in the residence. I came out for a walk.”
Xiao Dezi smiled. “The Crown Prince seems to be looking for you.”
The Miao King waved his hand. “Let him look!”
Xiao Dezi: “Uh?”
The Miao King cleared his throat. “Oh, where is he?”
Xiao Dezi smiled. “In Bixia Hall, playing with Miss Zhaozhao.”
“I’ll go take a look.”
Grandpa’s here for his little great-grandson!
The Miao King vanished in a flash!
Xiao Dezi, embarrassed, turned to Gongsun Yanming and bowed. “Imperial Tutor, His Majesty heard you’re here… and sent me… Imperial Tutor! Your hand!”
He saw the blood dripping from Gongsun Yanming’s hand.
Gongsun Yanming’s gaze swept over the roof tiles.
A row of heads quickly retreated.
Xiao Dezi followed his gaze to the roof. “Imperial Tutor, what are you looking at?”
Gongsun Yanming replied calmly, “I accidentally cut myself.”
Xiao Dezi hurriedly asked, “Should I call a physician?”
Gongsun Yanming said, “It’s just a superficial wound. It’s no big deal. Today is the Marquis’s wedding, and it’s inauspicious to see blood. I won’t go to pay my respects to His Majesty. Please convey my apologies.”
Xiao Dezi, dazed, replied, “Yes… yes.”
Gongsun Yanming boarded the Thousand Mechanism Pavilion’s carriage and left.
After entering Prince Jin’s residence, the Miao King was immediately intercepted by Lu Yuan.
The Miao King asked irritably, “What do you want?”
Don’t block my view of my little great-grandson!
Lu Yuan dragged him behind a rock garden.
There, everyone was ready and waiting.
Lu Yuan said, “Speak. What did you find?”
The Miao King grumbled, “Can we talk about it later?”
Lu Yuan said seriously, “No.”
The Miao King turned away, looking aggrieved.
Lu Yuan: “Little Nine wants to know.”
The Miao King handed him a small porcelain bottle. “This contains the blood of that little thief Gongsun. Drip it on the Liang Emperor and tell me his reaction.”
Lu Yuan took the bottle and left.
Ji Li asked, “Is it really inauspicious to see blood during a wedding?”
Chen Long replied, “I don’t think so.”
Lu Yuan went to Bixia Hall.
The Liang Emperor was watching Bao Zhuzhu dig.
Lu Yuan quietly approached, blocking the Emperor’s view, and grabbed the little girl’s hand.
Bao Zhuzhu looked up at her father, confused.
Without a word, Lu Yuan poured the blood onto her beloved little shovel.
Bao Zhuzhu’s body trembled!
Lu Yuan: “Grandfather, Zhaozhao is bleeding!”
