Chapter 540: Tornado: Are You the Main Antagonist?
Chapter 540: Tornado: Are You the Main Antagonist?
Feng Ye watched as the Hungry Wolf flew backwards from his kick, his demeanor calm as he retracted his leg, the glow at his feet gradually fading.
While he wanted to observe the Hungry Wolf's evolution, it didn't mean he would let the wolf off easily after being attacked. For now, a kick that sent it to the ICU would suffice.
With the Hungry Wolf's unique ability, it might not even make it to the ICU. It could very well evolve again on its way to prison. If it didn't evolve, then it wasn't worth his time, and its rightful place would be in prison, receiving the "education" of a sexy prisoner.
"Oooooh!!! Lord Raijin!!"
As they saw a flicker of white light on Feng Ye, the Hungry Wolf was sent flying. The nearby crowd, after a brief moment of silence, erupted in excited cheers once more.
Feng Ye turned his head, flashing a smile at the group of girls who were trying to approach him again. Then, with a soft sound, he disappeared from his original spot.
He decided to skip the autograph session.
While he wouldn't mind signing a few autographs to pass the time, the way these girls were looking at him suggested they didn't want his signature on paper. So, he chose to slip away. No matter the world, there were always plenty of people who wanted to take a bite of the peach.
Seconds later...
Swish!
Feng Ye's figure appeared at the headquarters of the Hero Association.
With the help of ultimate engineers and mechanics like Metal Knight and Child Emperor, the reconstruction of the association was completed in less than ten days, its area nearly five times larger than before.
Many nearby buildings had been purchased and demolished, of course, at a hefty cost. This was funded by investments from various shareholders of the association, and the largest contribution came from Feng Ye himself, who invested two hundred billion in his personal capacity.
These two hundred billion came from various precious metals refined using Magnetic Escape, a mere moment's work for the current Feng Ye. Now, he was not only a professional hero of the Hero Association but also a member of the association's board of directors, holding the second-largest share in the Hero Association, second only to its founder, Agni.
"Mr. Raijin."
Upon seeing Feng Ye approaching the association headquarters, the staff members in charge of reception immediately showed their respect.
Feng Ye was not only the face of the association and the most revered hero but also their superior and one of the major shareholders.
Feng Ye calmly took the elevator up to the top floor of the Hero Association.
This was where he resided.
Thanks to the two hundred billion investment for expansion, his living quarters were different from those of other association heroes, and even other S-class heroes didn't share this area.
The entrance area was filled with high-tech products, with no locks or even fingerprint scanners. Instead, an invisible beam of light scanned him, and the door ahead opened automatically.
Beyond the door was an extremely spacious living room.
"Back so soon?"
As Feng Ye stepped in, a voice reached his ears.
He turned towards the direction of the voice and saw Tornado leaning against a soft sofa, half her body sunk into it, her green curly hair cascading over the sofa.
"If you keep this up, the S-class heroes will all be out of work."
Tornado looked up at Feng Ye, her head tilted back.
Feng Ye casually walked over and sat down on another sofa, opening the laptop on the coffee table and typing something. With a light laugh, he said, "Is that so? But don't worry, with such a convenient psychic power, you'd definitely be in high demand as a maid."
"Impossible!"
Tornado huffed, her eyes, like sparkling gems, fixed on Feng Ye as she spoke.
Feng Ye glanced calmly at the computer screen and then held out his hand to Tornado, saying, "Get me a glass of water.
Feng Ye took the cup and blew on it, causing a layer of ice crystals to form on its surface, rapidly cooling the water.
After taking a sip of the refreshing ice water, Feng Ye set the cup down and turned his attention back to his laptop screen.
Tornado flipped over on the sofa, propping herself up on her elbows as she looked towards Feng Ye. Her chin rested on her hand, and her green curly hair tumbled over the armrest.
Though she was reluctant to admit it, if she were to choose a boyfriend, no one seemed more suitable than Feng Ye. He was powerful, handsome, and rich, yet he still dedicated himself to being a hero and protecting world peace—he seemed like something out of a comic book, too good to be true.
"You're actually a bad guy, aren't you?" Tornado blurted out, her eyes fixed on Feng Ye as she voiced her sudden suspicion. "You're the perfect hero on the surface, but in reality, you're the main antagonist pretending to be a hero, and you'll reveal your true colors at the last moment?"
Feng Ye glanced at her and typed away at his keyboard. "Now that you've discovered my secret, I'll have to silence you."
Lounging on the sofa, Tornado lifted her legs and grinned at Feng Ye. "You're making it pretty obvious, you know."
Feng Ye took a sip of water and kept his eyes on the screen. "Then why aren't you running?"
"Hmph! I'm a hero. I can't run. I must defeat you here and now, even if it costs me my life!" Tornado pouted.
Her speculation was just wild guessing, and it made no sense for Feng Ye to be a villain if he was actively working as a hero. Furthermore, the association's monster detection devices and other methods had proven ineffective against Feng Ye, indicating that he had no monster cells in his body and was, indeed, human.
Feng Ye continued browsing the web, scanning the news, when he suddenly felt something press against his back.
"What are you doing?" Feng Ye glanced sideways at the floating figure of Tornado, who had sneaked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Tornado's cheeks turned slightly pink, and she turned her head away, letting out a soft humph. "I'm not bothering you. Just keep playing on your computer."
As soon as she finished speaking, a brief silence fell.
When she didn't get a response from Feng Ye, Tornado shifted her gaze back towards him. But before she could look, she felt herself being lifted into the air.
"Wait—"
"What...what are you doing?!" Tornado stammered, her small hands pressing against Feng Ye's chest as he held her in front of him. Her face flushed, and her heart pounded wildly as their eyes met.
Feng Ye held her suspended in the air for a few seconds, his gaze unwavering. Suddenly, a hint of mirth flashed in his eyes, and he leaned forward.
"!" Tornado's eyes widened in surprise.
She quickly wriggled out of his grasp and flew backward, putting some distance between them. Her eyes, wide with disbelief, remained fixed on Feng Ye.
"Ah...ah..." Staring at Feng Ye's calm face, which now wore a slight smile, her own face flushed deeply. She turned and fled through the window, soaring into the sky until she disappeared from view.
Watching her hasty retreat, Feng Ye chuckled softly. "Now that you've guessed that I'm the final villain, it's not unreasonable for me to act like one, is it?"
Feng Ye felt a sudden urge to embrace his inner villain.
He thought that if the next world was suitable, he might try playing the role of a villain, as he had already maintained a neutral stance in two other worlds.
