Chapter 540: Perhaps Because of My Outstanding Talent
### Chapter 540: Perhaps Because of My Outstanding Talent
While the Wizards were lavishing praise on Ivan, the defeated Grace discovered that her body was bound by a thick Serpent, rendering her completely immobile.
The sinister snake head, as thick as a thigh, stared at her with icy eyes, its tongue flickering and hissing, ready to strike at any moment.
"Ah! Snake! I surrender, I give up!" Grace screamed in terror.
Grace's shrill scream shattered the harmonious atmosphere, and many people turned their attention to her.
Ivan casually waved his wand, and the Giant Serpent binding Grace dissipated into a wisp of smoke, eventually transforming back into a table leg.
Once free from the restraint, Grace, still trembling with fear, quickly threw the table leg aside that had been pressing on her.
At this moment, Grace noticed that everyone was staring at her, and some Wizards were even laughing at her misfortune. Grace's expression turned gloomy as she felt her performance today was abysmal.
Ivan, however, did not share her sentiment. He stepped forward, helped Grace to her feet, and brushed off the dust from her shoulders, then spoke.
"You performed well just now. If you can curb your impatience and remain calm and thoughtful in battle, I believe you have what it takes to become an Auror."
"Really, Lord Hals?" Grace stood frozen, her eyes wide with surprise and hope.
"Of course! But you need to work on these issues and achieve enough victories in the dueling arena this month!" Ivan said with a smile.
While he considered Protego a basic spell, he understood that for most Wizards, it was still quite challenging.
Grace's ability to master and use it at her age was no small feat.
During their previous training sessions, Grace had shown rapid improvement. If she continued to gain more combat experience, Ivan doubted he could defeat her so easily in the future.
"Yes, Lord Hals!" Grace bowed respectfully, her excitement evident.
Ivan's kind words left her feeling both honored and encouraged.
She had heard many stories about Ivan, expecting him to be unpredictable and difficult to get along with. Now, it seemed he was not as terrifying as people made him out to be.
Ivan sensed the change in Grace's demeanor and nodded inwardly. It seemed his efforts were paying off, and it wouldn't be long before these Wizards would view him differently.
Unfortunately, his time in Knockturn Alley was limited!
That night, after finishing the day's practice, Ivan found Asia and told her about his plans to leave Knockturn Alley.
"Leave? Where are you going?" Asia furrowed her brow, her voice laced with confusion.
"To meet Nicolas Flamel! He sent me a letter, saying he wants to meet me during the summer break!" Ivan pulled out a letter from his pocket and handed it to Asia.
"Here, you can take a look."
"Nicolas Flamel?" Asia took the letter, a look of surprise on her face. The name seemed familiar, and then it hit her. "The creator of the Philosopher's Stone?!"
As an Alchemist, Asia was well-acquainted with this master of Alchemy. She had always looked up to Nicolas Flamel when she was learning the craft.
However, this Alchemical Master from the Wizarding World lived in such a distant era and had no real connection to them, so meeting him would be extremely difficult. When Ivan first mentioned the name, Asia didn't even consider it.
"It's Nicolas Flamel!" Ivan nodded, confirming Asia's guess.
"But why would he send you a letter?" Asia was both excited and puzzled. When she opened the envelope, she found that the content was minimal—a simple invitation without any specific reason.
"Maybe it's because of my outstanding talent. Perhaps Nicolas Flamel is looking for a disciple to pass on his knowledge. After all, geniuses like me are rare!" Ivan shrugged, not wanting to mention that he had broken his Time-Turner. He half-truthfully explained.
Listening to Ivan's narcissistic words, Asia couldn't help but reach out and tap his forehead with a smile, but she didn't contradict him. Instead, she asked, "When do you plan to meet your new Master?"
"Do you want Mom to accompany you?" Asia teased.
"No, I'll go by myself! It's the day after tomorrow!" Ivan shook his head quickly. He wasn't a real child, and having a parent accompany him would be too embarrassing.
More importantly, he hadn't told Asia that this meeting with Nicolas Flamel was arranged by Dumbledore. To enter Nick's Safe House, he would likely need the old professor's help.
If Asia were to come along, Ivan was worried there might be a conflict.
Asia didn't insist; she had only been joking to tease Ivan.
But when she learned that Ivan would be leaving the day after tomorrow, she was both surprised and a bit reluctant. Ivan had only been back in Knockturn Alley for a week, and so much had happened. They had hardly spent any real time together.
But Asia understood the importance of the situation. Her Alchemy skills were limited, and she had realized last summer that she had nothing more to teach Ivan. Continuing like this would only hinder his talent.
At this stage, only the Alchemical Master could guide Ivan on his future path.
So, despite her reluctance, Asia agreed. She even began thinking about what gift would be appropriate for visiting Nicolas Flamel.
Ivan, meanwhile, had a sudden thought. "Mom, while I'm away, remember to keep an eye on those Wizards. Make sure everyone stays in Knockturn Alley and follows the training methods I gave them. Don't let them have any idle time!"
Given what had happened, Ivan was worried that the Imagination Monsters might cause trouble in his absence.
He didn't want to return next summer and find that Dawgert and the others had already taken down the Ministry of Magic.
Although the likelihood was small—fifty Wizards couldn't possibly defeat the Auror Corps—Ivan believed it was necessary to nip any such possibility in the bud!
