A muffled, middle-aged man’s voice greeted them: “Welcome to Terrifying Paradise.”
【Loading complete. You are now in Team Survival Mode (Common).】

Feng Bu Jue’s screen shifted to a first-person perspective, like a cinematic opening from Call of Duty.
The camera showed him “descending” through the sky. No military gear here—just his default in-game outfit: a black long-sleeve T-shirt and pants. Blue skies, fluffy clouds, and a serene day stretched around him.
The view tilted downward, revealing a modern metropolis below.
The system voice boomed with subtitles: 【You are a member of a search-and-rescue team tasked with locating Dr. Ashufude, an employee of Allerbmu Corporation. However, due to an aircraft malfunction, you and your five teammates lost all communication devices and heavy weaponry during parachute deployment and were scattered across the city.】
“Wait, ‘Allerbmu’? Isn’t that just ‘Umbrella’ spelled backward?” Feng Bu Jue muttered, reading the subtitles. “And the city name—just reverse ‘Raccoon City’ and transliterate it, right?”
【An unknown virus is ravaging this Nooccar City.】
“Seriously? They went there?”
【This biohazard virus, codenamed ‘Z,’ has four defining traits: 100% contagion rate, 100% mortality rate, transmission via exposed mucous membranes and all bodily fluids, and inability to spread through air or water.】
“Ugh, just call it the T-virus already! Who doesn’t see where this scenario’s going?”
【All infected individuals transform into… vampire-wolf zombies.】
“Huh?” Feng Bu Jue froze, his mind conjuring a horrifying image.
【These creatures share basic traits with standard zombies but exhibit partial characteristics of werewolves and vampires. Referred to as: Blood Wolf Zombies.】
“Wait, what?”
【Weaknesses: Silver-induced burns and garlic deterrent effects when mixed with saliva. Their mobility and intelligence are extremely low. Decapitation or hindbrain destruction ensures elimination.】
“These things are weaker than regular zombies? What’s the point of this design?”
【Blood Wolf Zombies intensely dislike sunlight, though it causes no direct harm. They possess acute olfactory senses and react to sound and light. Their carnivorous urges are unrelated to digestion—despite losing jaws, esophagi, stomachs, etc., they’ll continue tearing apart prey and shoving it into their mouths. All living humans become targets.】
The lengthy CG and narration likely stretched due to the in-game parachute descent. The final scene showed Feng Bu Jue landing on a rooftop of a street-side shop.
A second later, his vision merged with the game’s perspective. No parachute on his back—system-removed, saving him the hassle of detaching it.
【Main Quest Triggered】
This was Feng Bu Jue’s first time entering a scenario with teammates scattered across the map. He opened the menu, checking the main quest: 【Infiltrate and search the Allerbmu Corporation building. Locate Dr. Ashufude.】
He glanced at the team roster: 【Wang Tan Zhi】【Pan Feng】【Hua Xiong】【Name Zhen Nan Qu】【Jibu Shao Ye】
“Pan Feng and Hua Xiong are a team… and this scenario’s full of male players, huh?”
“Grrrr…” A guttural moan echoed behind him.
Feng Bu Jue turned to see a Blood Wolf Zombie limping toward him.
Its features: fur-covered body but hairless hands and face, pale skin, vampire-like fangs, and zombie hallmarks like grotesque wounds and decaying limbs.
It moved agonizingly slow—sunlight seemed to sap its energy further. It groaned loudly, self-sabotaging its stealth.
Feng Bu Jue stared down at it at a 45-degree angle, then circled behind the creature.
The zombie clumsily pivoted, facing him again with another moan.
“Such a slowpoke…” Feng Bu Jue didn’t even draw a weapon. He simply walked toward the rooftop door, leaving the zombie behind.
The creature trailed him, but its pace lagged behind Feng Bu Jue’s casual stroll.
Opening the door, Feng descended a staircase into a common dining hall. A kitchen lay beyond the counter, with street-facing windows and a row of tables. Half-eaten food—sandwiches, fries, bacon and eggs—littered some tables, now feasted on by flies.
Another moan echoed.
A Blood Wolf Zombie leaned on an oven, its lower body devoured, entrails spilling across the floor. Seeing Feng, it raised an arm toward him, groaning like a cliché horror line: “Come closer…”
Feng ignored it, peering through the window. Outside, a few Blood Wolf Zombies lurked in building shadows, moving sluggishly.
“Not too dangerous… Let’s test something.” He grabbed a pipe wrench from his satchel, raided a storage room, and returned with a basket of garlic.
Placing it on the counter, he peeled a clove, swapped his wrench for a kitchen knife, and chewed the raw garlic.
In Terrifying Paradise, food simulated real taste and satiety via nerve connection—no actual stomach weight.
After the garlic’s heat bloomed on his tongue, Feng approached the gutless zombie. The creature lowered its arm, seemingly deterred by the scent.
Feng leaned in, grinning, and exhaled garlic breath from a meter away.
The zombie scrambled backward, crawling on the floor.
“Hehe… This scenario’s a paradise.” Feng’s eyes gleamed. He decided to wreak havoc across the city until satisfied.
