Chapter 54: Don't Make Me Angry
Chapter 54: Don’t Make Me Angry
At the break of dawn, the train arrived at Enies Lobby.
Robin and Franky were escorted away. Kuro and his team also reached the island, resting in a small tavern.
“Finally finished. Nothing left for us to do. Let’s find a ship back to Headquarters,” Kuro yawned lazily, stretching his arms.
“Here’s your drink.”
A waitress placed a glass of wine on Klah’s table with a shy smile, batting her eyelashes. “My name’s Catherine, handsome Mr.”
Klah stared blankly.
Catherine, the bar’s young waitress, had large eyes, sharp features, rosy cheeks, and bold red lips—her appearance oddly rugged.
“Someone’s got a crush on you, Klah.”
Lida nudged Klah’s ribs playfully. “Need some time alone?”
Kuro almost chuckled but suddenly smacked Lida’s head. “Where’d you learn such nonsense? Go drink your juice.”
“Ow!”
Lida hugged her head, pouting. At eighteen, she wasn’t a child, yet Kuro always treated her like one.
“Mr. Kuro, are we leaving soon?”
Klah asked impatiently. Catherine’s flirty glances gave him chills.
“Of course—we’re—”
Before Kuro could finish, an alarm blared.
“Intruder! A pirate!”
The tavern erupted in chaos.
“Pirates?”
“Don’t joke! This is Enies Lobby! How could pirates get here?”
“The alarm’s real! It’s really a pirate! Evacuate!”
“We’ll fight! No pirate will step past us!”
Navy personnel and government agents rushed out.
Kuro froze mid-puff. Had Luffy arrived so fast? Was he really that quick? It’d only been…
“Aren’t we counting the time? Seems like less than half a day,” Kuro muttered.
If his memory served, Pacifista would arrive next. The original plot spared everyone, but…
“Damn it! I knew this wouldn’t be simple!” Pacifista—World Government’s national weapon—could erase entire islands on command.
“Steal Spandam’s Pacifista? No, too risky. But without stopping it, five elite Vice Admirals and ten warships? Not my odds…”
Luffy? Worse. Touching the protagonist meant endless trouble. Even if Luffy was chaos incarnate, there’d always be another “Emperor Luffy” or “Emperor Li.” Freeing him early from Impel Down might unleash a Revolutionary Army-style war…
“Nope. Not interfering.” Luffy’s bounty was 100 million anyway. Capturing him? Useless.
“Wait! Blueno!”
Kuro smacked his forehead, standing abruptly. “Lida, Klah, follow me.”
“Stopping the pirates?” Lida grinned.
“No. Saving someone,” Kuro replied.
Outside, streets erupted in pandemonium. Luffy’s location was unclear, but shipwrights clashed with enemies.
Activating Observation Haki, Kuro pinpointed a direction. Using Moonstep, they soared above the chaos.
Among Six Styles, Moonstep was most practical—lightweight and agile.
On a rooftop, they found Blueno, unconscious.
“Too fast! He’s already out cold!” Kuro scratched his head. “Lida, wake him.”
“No way! I’m starving!” Lida shook her head violently.
“Buy you snacks later.”
“Promise! And no complaining about how much I eat!”
Transforming into her adult form, Lida pressed a hand on Blueno.
“Essence Feedback!”
Thud! Blueno shuddered, color returning to his eyes.
“This is…” He staggered up, blinking. Suddenly: “Right! Luffy!”
Scanning the area, Blueno grabbed the door. “Good Navy, let me deal with Luffy first!”
Kuro stepped forward. “Forget him! There’s something bigger! I need your power!”
Blueno glared, voice deep. “Whoever stops my mission is my enemy—even you, good Navy.”
“Wait—”
“Don’t stop me.”
“I’m talking about the plaza!”
“I’m chasing Luffy.”
Blueno’s jaw clenched.
“Enies Lobby will—”
“Luffy’s crew can’t escape Enies Lobby!”
“For justice!”
Crack! A fist slammed into Blueno’s gut, sinking deep.
Coughing, he bent over, eyes wide with pain.
Kuro roared, “Can’t you just listen? You idiot!”
“Kuro, he’s out again,” Lida noted.
Kuro sighed. “Always the unlucky ones. Klah, carry him. Back to the plaza.”
Klah adjusted his glasses. He’d hoped to spar with CP9, especially Blueno—Kuro claimed he was slightly stronger, but Klah doubted it.
Back at the plaza, Lida revived Blueno once more.
“This is the second time! I’m done after this! I’m Hungry!” She shoved a cookie in her mouth, pressing her palm on Blueno.
“Essence Feedback.”
As a Haki-type Devil Fruit user, Lida could channel essence back into others, revitalizing their bodies—even healing.
Blueno’s eyes snapped open. Before he could speak, Kuro’s glare pierced him.
Blueno recoiled like a cornered cat, cold sweat drenching his face.
Killing Intent!
Pure, murderous intent radiated from Kuro.
“Don’t make me angry again, Blueno,” Kuro hissed, each word deliberate. “Open your mouth again, and I’ll end you.”
Let’s keep things light and casual.
A cheerful chapter indeed!
