Chapter 539: Chu Mo Island (V)
Chapter 539: Chu Mo Island (V)
Tian Ma Xing Kong sidestepped with ease as the great axe swung toward him, dodging the attack effortlessly.
Though he didn’t know who the Baboon-Faced man was, from the speed and force of that strike, he clearly wasn’t some formidable opponent.
The next moment, Tian Ma Xing Kong steadied himself and swung his arm back, preparing to counterattack.
Ding ling—
At that moment, a bell chime rang out from nearby. Feng Bu Jue had taken out and activated the adamantine bell, using its first command: Observe an Npc’s detailed profile.
[Name: Listener Lie Sen De]
[Faction: None]
[Level: 100]
[Height: 192 cm]
[Weight: 316 kg]
[Combat Triggerable: Yes]
[Attached Plot: Shortcut to the Faith Temple]
“Hold your strike!” Feng Bu Jue scanned the menu and shouted immediately.
Hearing this, Tian Ma Xing Kong hastily retracted his attack, stifling the skills he was about to unleash.
“What’s wrong?” Brother Horse turned and asked.
“Lie Sen De! Calm down!” Feng Bu Jue shouted toward the Npc. “Let’s talk!”
Lie Sen De yanked his axe from the ground and held it across his chest. His baboon-like face twitched with a grotesque, humorless grin. “Talk? Haha… Ha! I’ve said enough! Now I want to hear!” he roared, raising the axe again as though ready to kill.
“What do you want to hear?” Feng Bu Jue replied instantly, his tone quick and sharp.
Lie Sen De paused mid-motion, his voice softening slightly. “The sins…,” he muttered, his hysteria shifting subtly. “The crimes you’ve committed… the evils that defy morality and order…,” his tone grew ravenous, “Tell me everything. The more, the better…”
“Oh?” Feng Bu Jue’s eyes flickered with amusement. A faint smirk surfaced. “So that’s what you want?”
“Exactly! Hurry!” Lie Sen De rushed forward, closing the distance between them.
“Watch out!” Fei Chai Shu cried as he and Ji Bu materialized beside the group. Tian Ma Xing Kong and Hong Hu also stepped closer, ready to intervene at any moment.
“Haha… Those kinds of stories? I’ve got plenty,” Feng Bu Jue stood his ground, waving casually to his teammates to reassure them. “Let me pick a minor one…”
“Quick! Tell me!” Lie Sen De closed the distance in three steps, his face flushed with fanaticism.
“Well… Let me choose something not too serious,” Feng Bu Jue said leisurely, hands in his pockets. “In first grade, I trapped a delinquent youth in a manhole. Firefighters rescued him after three hours.”
“Wait, you call that not too bad?!” Hong Hu’s glasses nearly slipped off.
“Honestly… I felt guilty,” Feng Bu Jue continued, calm and collected. “Manhole covers are public property. Plus, firefighters have busy schedules.”
“Hey! You’re feeling guilty about the wrong thing! Show some empathy for the delinquent youth!” Ji Bu’s eyes bulged.
“So… For my Second Dark Scheme, I used a new plan that wouldn’t inconvenience anyone,” Feng Bu Jue shrugged nonchalantly.
“There’s a sequel?! What grudge could you possibly have?! Trying to wipe them out entirely?!” Hong Hu thought, horrified.
“Unexpectedly, that guy foodpoisoned himself and reported me to the police,” Feng Bu Jue spat disdainfully. “Hmph… Looking back, maybe I did use too strong a dose… After all, he was just a middle schooler. His digestive system couldn’t handle an adult’s dosage.”
“What dosage?! What the hell did you put in his food?! Since when do normal elementary students do this?! Are you a blackened version of Conan?!” Ji Bu mentally screamed.
“Luckily, my plan was flawless. The Evidence vanished, and the police dismissed the minor case,” Feng Bu Jue continued. “Still… I caused them trouble. I’m genuinely remorseful.”
“Come on… This story’s gotta be fake, right? Right?” Even Fei Chai Shu silently pleaded.
“Finally, in fourth grade, I completed my revenge,” Feng Bu Jue went on. “I stole his wallet, retrieved the three yuan he’d extorted for breakfast money, and used a needle to puncture the condom inside. Then I returned the wallet to their school’s lost and found.”
The other four teammates shared the same thought: “Officer! This is the guy!”
“Ahhh… Revenge is indeed a delicious dish served cool,” Feng Bu Jue sneered maniacally. “Hehe… My rebellious phase was quite mischievous. As they say, ‘An eye for an eye, and leave nothing behind.’”
“What ‘as they say’?! Who the hell says that besides you?!” Ji Bu barked.
“Not enough…,” Lie Sen De interjected. “Tell me something worse.”
“How about… destroying Evidence at a mass murder scene?” Feng Bu Jue replied.
At this, Tian Ma Xing Kong quietly opened his game menu: “Hmm… How do you report someone to the authorities again?”
“I want evil! Real evil!” Lie Sen De bellowed, glancing wildly at the other players. “You! Speak! Tell me more! Or I’ll kill you all!”
“Hmph… A hero doesn’t have evil deeds!” Brother Horse scoffed, turning his head skyward while crossing his index and middle fingers on both hands.
“Why don’t you go back to kindergarten and learn how to lie properly?!” Ji Bu shot back.
“I see…,” Hong Hu muttered, pushing his glasses up as he analyzed silently. “For this Npc, hearing confessions is like eating. Judging by his state, he’s been ‘starving’ for ages—driving him mad.”
Hong Hu’s deduction was spot-on. Feng Bu Jue had reached the same conclusion. Upon hearing Lie Sen De’s demand, he instantly recognized the pattern—similar to past Npcs like Ao Er Deng, who once demanded ghost stories. By comparison, Lie Sen De’s obsession wasn’t so strange.
“I told you… I’ve got as much as you want,” Feng Bu Jue continued, negotiating. “But… in exchange, what will you give us?”
“Hmph… No wonder it’s Feng Bu Jue,” Hong Hu thought. “Now we’re getting to the real deal.”
Lie Sen De’s expression darkened. Feng Bu Jue’s words had clearly triggered a pre-set Flag, activating the Npc’s scripted response.
“As for benefits…,” Lie Sen De rumbled, “the meaning of that word varies for each individual…” His gaze swept over the five companions. “Let me ask first… What is your ‘faith’?”
