Chapter 536: Slaughter Awakening
The Balor Fire Demon lowered his head, staring at his intact body with a voice trembling with excitement. “Indeed! Just as I thought! I knew it—our Lord would never let me die! I am His vessel in the Material Realm, His representative! He would never allow me to perish!”
Lifting his head, the demon bared jagged fangs, breathing out scalding smoke as he roared toward Kai Xiusu, his gaze filled with vile hatred. “Kai Xiusu! Do you see?! You cannot kill me! Hahahaha! Behind me stands the mighty Abyssal Lord! Tremble! Even if you are powerful, you are but a dragon of the Material Realm—your roots cannot stand against the true Existences that control this world!”
A torrent of primordial chaos mist surged around the Balor Fire Demon like a storm tide, swirling into a regimented, pitch-black vortex. The shadow of the Avenger Demon behind him still twisted in a grotesque, mocking smile.
“You provoke me?” The Red Dragon turned his head, gazing at the Balor Fire Demon with an unnerving, strange stare. His pale gold eyes flickered with a faint, eerie glow—like a predator inspecting prey, or a warning whispered on the wind.
“Jelrazaks.” Kai Xiusu murmured the name softly. His intense gaze pierced through the swirling chaos, as if seeing past the demon’s eyes to the true demons lurking behind.
“Leo Bosk… my old friend… you’ve always been so full of confidence. So blind.”
Kai Xiusu’s voice grew louder, swelling into a thunderous roar that echoed across the wasteland, shaking the very earth and sending tremors of fear through the millions of souls on the battlefield.
“Do you truly believe… I fear the Abyssal Lord behind you?”
With a sweep of his arm, the Red Dragon pointed a clawed finger at the Balor Fire Demon, and a manifestation of pure Flame Element Authority flared into existence within his grip.
Kai Xiusu spread his vast dragon wings, and behind him, a torrent of fire, hundreds of meters wide, erupted like a river of molten fury.
[Mastery of Flame]
The world seemed to ignite. Ember sparks and smoke surged from the ground, spiraling into the sky. Dozens of flaming meteors tore through the heavens, leaving crimson trails like cracked lightning. Towering columns of fire erupted from the earth, thick volcanic ash darkening the sky, and burning clouds churned high above.
For a moment, the Material Realm transformed into a hellish, apocalyptic fire domain—endless waves of flame consuming every Abyssal Entity on the land.
“No—!”
“Lord Leo, save us!”
“It’s too hot! So hot!”
“How can a Red Dragon like this even exist in the Prime Material Plane?!”
“We are Demons! We belong to the fire! Why are we being burned to ash?!”
The Demons and Abyssal Monsters wailed in agony, screaming in pain, some even dropping to their knees, pleading for mercy—but their fate was already sealed. They were annihilated by flame.
Not only were their distorted bodies reduced to ash, but their spiritual souls were vaporized by the fire’s essence of pure destruction.
The Empire’s soldiers surveyed the devastation, stunned by the apocalyptic scene. Their faces, illuminated by the dancing flames, were twisted with frenzied awe.
“Dragon Lord forever!”
“Empire of Ashen reigns supreme!”
“Kai Xiusu! This is His Majesty’s power!”
But soon, some Imperial soldiers realized this was their chance—revenge for their fallen comrades.
“Kill them!”
“They slaughtered our regiment commander! Let’s avenge our brothers!”
Raising their weapons high, they charged forward again, guided by the fire, into the dark swarm of Demons. But now, the Demons were broken—no longer a threat. Panic spread. The ranks collapsed into rout.
“Lord Leo, save us!”
“Balor Fire Demon Commander!”
“Open the Abyssal Portal! Summon your Lord—only He can fight this!”
“Hurry! Let us return to the Abyss!”
Intelligent Demons screamed desperately toward the Balor Fire Demon, their voices filled with terror. They had expected a feast—the ruins of fallen cities, the wails of civilians. Instead, they faced endless artillery fire, the ravenous wrath of the dragon flame, and—most terrifying of all—a Red Dragon stretching over forty meters in length.
Yet now, the very demon they had pinned their hopes on—this so-called savior—was barely surviving.
“Boom!”
A deafening crack split the air—the sound of a Solar Flame Burst.
A searing column of flame tore through the Abyssal energy, effortlessly piercing the Balor Fire Demon’s chest, carving out a massive, charred hole. The demon died once more.
But the chaos mist surged, swirling toward the corpse, filling the wound. The chest stitched itself shut, and a pulsing, corrupt Demon Heart formed in its place.
“You dare kill me?!” The Balor Fire Demon rose from death, eyes wide with terror, his massive body trembling as he stared at the Red Dragon.
Again. This was the same as before. Years ago, when there was no such powerful Red Dragon—then, a godlike being had descended, effortlessly destroying everything he had built.
And now, history was repeating itself.
The Balor Fire Demon looked down at the earth, at the Demons writhing in flames, being hunted and slaughtered by Imperial soldiers. He remembered the Northern Regions soldiers retreating in disarray—just as they were now.
In that moment, the demon—once Leo Bosk, the Fire Demon—felt a crushing sense of helplessness. It was not just fear. It was despair.
His eyes burned crimson. Summoning every ounce of courage, he roared into the sky: “Kai Xiusu! Think carefully! If you kill me, you will face the wrath of a true Abyssal Lord!”
“Crack!”
A whip of burning chaos flame lashed through the air, striking the Red Dragon’s head.
Kai Xiusu grinned, revealing rows of razor-sharp dragon fangs, and exhaled a stream of white-hot smoke. “Even if that Revenant Demon himself descended, I would not flinch. Leo Bosk—how dare you, a mere pet of an Abyssal Lord, use His name to threaten me? How utterly beneath you.”
With a thunderous roar, the Red Dragon flared his wings, unleashing a hurricane of heat. He seized the flaming whip in one claw and yanked the Balor Fire Demon violently toward him.
Instantly, dragon flame surged along the whip, racing toward the demon’s arm, ready to consume it.
“Damn it!” The Balor Fire Demon stared in horror as the fire neared. He released the whip and fled, sprinting desperately through the air.
But Kai Xiusu’s speed was beyond imagination.
“Whoosh—”
A sonic boom tore through the sky. A wave of intense heat blasted from behind, scorching the air.
When the Balor Fire Demon turned, the Red Dragon was already there—suspended in the air behind him.
His pupils contracted. The crimson figure loomed larger in his vision, filling his entire world.
“What—?!”
The Red Dragon’s massive arm bulged with iron-like muscle, veins standing out like cables. His claws, gleaming cold as blades, tore through space, trailing a hurricane of fire as they descended.
“Swoosh—”
“You dare—”
First came the scream of air being split. Then the wet, tearing sound of flesh. Finally, a shriek of agony.
Purple-black flesh and shattered organs exploded into the sky, raining down like a bloody storm.
In the Red Dragon’s crushing might, the demon’s powerful body was cleaved in two, the cut so clean it looked like a surgical blade had passed through.
Kai Xiusu hovered motionless in the air, watching the shattered remains fall. He spoke softly.
“Leo Bosk… I wonder how many times you can respawn. Or… when will your Revenant Demon finally step forth to face my vengeance?”
As if on cue, the chaos mist surged like a river, rushing into the upper half of the demon’s body, reconstructing it instantly.
“I told you! Kai Xiusu… you… you can never truly kill me!” The Balor Fire Demon roared again, but his voice was weak—his grip on the Storm Greatsword trembling. His words lacked conviction. Even he no longer knew if the Abyssal Lord would abandon him. Would he wake again after this death?
But before he could recover, the Red Dragon descended with a thunderous roar, his claw plunging into the demon’s chest, tearing him open from stem to stern.
Abyssal currents surged. The Balor Fire Demon respawned.
“You—” He barely began.
Then, a column of blazing white flame erupted from the sky, vaporizing his entire head in an instant.
But again—chaos roared. The demon reformed within the swirling black vortex.
“Can’t be killed…” Kai Xiusu stared at the reborn demon, his Heaven’s Judgment Dragon Eye glowing brightly in the void.
In the grip of Abyssal power, the Red Dragon could not predict the demon’s next move. He couldn’t even perceive the demon’s spiritual soul.
Normally, when Demons died in the Material Plane, their souls would detach and return to the Abyss through summoning, to be reborn in the Blood Pool. But within Kai Xiusu’s Empire Domain, those vile, corrupt souls were intercepted and destroyed—converted into pure Soul Energy.
Yet no matter how many times Kai Xiusu had slain Leo Bosk, he had never sensed the demon’s soul.
That was not normal.
Kai Xiusu whispered into the void.
“Another boring trick, eh? Jelrazaks… you don’t act like a Demon Lord. More like a Duke of Hell.”
As he spoke, he flared his wings, riding the storm winds in a blinding surge of speed—closing in on the Balor Fire Demon once more.
This time, Kai Xiusu wanted to crush the demon into meat paste, to see how much Abyssal power it took to bring it back.
“Come on, Leo, my old friend. How many times have I killed you now? Can’t even remember, can you?”
The Red Dragon’s mocking voice echoed across the sky, sending shivers through the Demons below.
The most powerful commander of the Abyssal Legion, the supreme Balor Fire Demon—reduced to a sacrificial lamb, slaughtered again and again.
“Emperor Kai Xiusu forever!”
“This is insane!”
“I give up. What’s the point of fighting? Just declare victory!”
“Kai Xiusu—the supreme male dragon, the apex predator, the king among dragons!”
The players watching were awestruck. They stared at the sky, transfixed by what felt like an endless cinematic sequence. They watched, enthralled, as the Balor Fire Demon—whom they had been casually slaughtered by—was repeatedly torn apart by their own faction leader.
They clapped, cheered, and some even began recording.
Stuffed Bun, in particular, was already planning his video title: “Kai Xiusu’s Battle Log: 100 Ways to Die—Abyss Boss Edition.”
“Damned Red Dragon… this must end!” The Balor Fire Demon gritted his teeth, eyes filled with fear and hatred.
Faced with the Red Dragon’s relentless assault, he did not hesitate. He chanted an ancient, chaotic Abyssal incantation.
Black auras flickered across his body. Space around him warped and distorted. His form grew translucent, fading into the shadows.
Kai Xiusu sensed it instantly.
“Abyssal Portal Spell… but the destination isn’t the Bottomless Abyss. It’s—”
The Red Dragon paused, golden eyes narrowing. His mind raced.
“Anstica Mountains… Mount Tiel.”
He spoke the name aloud—the place foretold in countless prophecies, the starting point of the Demon Invasion, the stage Kai Xiusu had prepared with meticulous care.
“Good. So Jelrazaks is waiting for me there. Perfect.”
The Red Dragon watched as the Balor Fire Demon vanished into the spatial distortion, vanishing with a string of vile curses.
“Enjoy your final moments, Kai Xiusu! You and your Empire will be destroyed! Hahahaha! I will watch it all—savor every second of your revenge!”
Kai Xiusu could have disrupted the spell, stopped the demon’s escape. But he did not.
He simply watched, as the Balor Fire Demon vanished through the teleportation arc.
“Long live Emperor Kai Xiusu!”
“Victory!”
“Great Dragon, undefeated!”
“His Majesty has led us to Radiance once more! Empire of Ashen reigns!”
The Imperial soldiers below, ignorant of the deeper truth, celebrated wildly. They knew only that the Red Dragon had utterly crushed the Balor Fire Demon.
But Lanpu, Misha, and others stared at the sky, at the fading arc of the arcane pulse—unease creeping into their hearts.
Normally, His Majesty would never let such a threat escape. He would have destroyed it completely.
If Leo Bosk fled… then one thing was certain:
The war was far from over.
In fact, this was only the beginning—the high-intensity battle that only His Majesty could fight. Just like the clash with the Ancient Silver Dragon before. Mortal beings had no place in such battles.
Kai Xiusu stood motionless, gazing into the Abyss. His pale golden eyes glowed with a quiet, unyielding determination.
“Ah… another trap? But this time… who is hunter… and who is prey? The answer remains unknown.”
“The war begins in Anstica. And it will end there. From this moment, the Predetermined Fate is shattered. A splendid conclusion, indeed.”
A sound like tearing silk split the sky. Space trembled violently. Wyverns shrieked in terror, flapping their wings wildly.
“What…?”
“Kai Xiusu, above!”
“Is that His Majesty?! Is he chasing the Demon?!”
All eyes turned to the sky. Millions of gazes locked onto the massive dragon form.
With a brutal claw, the Red Dragon tore open space, creating a blazing, massive rift. Then, wings tightly folded, he plunged through it—disappearing into the abyss.
