Chapter 534: The Drunk Tornado
Chapter 534: The Drunk Tornado
This could be a problem.
Genos glanced at Tornado and then at Saitama, his expression thoughtful as he considered whether to intervene, but ultimately decided against it.
Feng Ye sipped his drink leisurely, but soon his mouth twitched as he watched the sexy prisoner, the Exalted Vestment, and the three muscular men of the Superalloy Blacklight start to dance. He felt a sharp, stinging sensation in his reincarnation eyes and couldn't help but forcibly avert his gaze.
"Feng Ye, come on, cheers!"
At that moment, Tornado lifted her petite hand, holding a wine glass, and raised it towards him.
Feng Ye clinked his glass with Tornado's and then took out his phone, starting to browse the news. The top trending news at the moment was the Hero Association's popularity poll.
[Hero Popularity Poll]
[First Place: Thunder God - Currently 2,718,412 votes]
[Second Place: The Trembling Tornado - Currently 1,191,031 votes]
[Third Place...]
Feng Ye dominated the first place in the popularity poll by a large margin. Perhaps only the previous Sweet Mask could have rivaled his current popularity.
Right behind him was Tornado, securely in second place with her formidable strength as an S-Class hero and an activity frequency far surpassing that of her peers.
This ranking was within Feng Ye's expectations.
Before he joined the hero ranks, Tornado had been the most popular S-Class hero after Sweet Mask. Now, after his heroic deeds and the previous incident, it was likely that all votes besides those from die-hard fans and the perverted lolicon crowd would go to him.
As Feng Ye casually scrolled through the rankings, he suddenly felt a weight on his arm.
"What are you looking at... Oh, it's the new hero popularity rankings."
Tornado, completely devoid of manners, had draped herself on Feng Ye's arm. With one hand, she clung to his arm, and in the other, she held her wine glass. "Come on, let's drink some more!"
"Miss Tornado is completely drunk," Child Emperor said, covering his forehead as he witnessed the scene.
Feng Ye couldn't help but chuckle at the current state of Tornado. He reached out, lifted her off his arm, and said, "You should go to bed."
"Hmph! Sleep... Who wants to sleep? I'm not tired at all! Are you too scared to drink with me anymore? My drinking capacity is definitely not inferior to yours..."
Bathed in the faint glow of the lights, Tornado hovered in the air, the wine in her cup floating alongside her, threatening to spill.
Feng Ye burst out laughing. "You're drunk out of your mind."
"Cheers!"
Tornado raised her glass, gulped down half its contents, and then waved her small hand at Feng Ye.
After a moment of amusement, Feng Ye casually raised his glass towards Tornado and took another sip, unbothered by the situation. After all, Tornado wasn't a child, and he wasn't luring a minor into drinking.
"That's more like it!"
Tornado nodded in satisfaction. She then picked up her glass, finished the remaining half, and swayed before falling from the air.
Tornado's drunken antics went largely unnoticed as the atmosphere at the banquet had already grown lively and boisterous. Atomic Samurai and the others were also slightly tipsy, and Superalloy Blacklight, the sexy prisoner, and the other muscular men were dancing boisterously with arms around each other's shoulders.
Even the Hero Association's director, Sitch, was in a drunken stupor, cheering from the sidelines.
"I think... I've had, just about... enough," Tornado slurred, managing to stand upright again with a wobble. The faint glow reappeared, lifting her into the air as she prepared to head back to her room to sleep.
"That way doesn't lead back!"
Seeing this, Child Emperor called out and rushed to the window, only to see Tornado already flying unsteadily into the sky.
"She could get into trouble flying like that!" Concerned, Child Emperor reached for his backpack, only to realize he hadn't brought it; he was on vacation, and his equipment was in his room.
As Tornado flew further away, Child Emperor grew anxious. He turned to the people in the room and finally settled his gaze on Feng Ye, asking, "Mr. Feng Ye, Miss Tornado seems to be drunk. I'm worried she might get into trouble flying out like this. Could I trouble you to help?"
"Sure."
Feng Ye put down his phone and smiled at Child Emperor. He then stood up and walked to the window, his figure flickering and vanishing from view.
Seeing Feng Ye give chase, Child Emperor breathed a sigh of relief. "With Mr. Feng Ye's help, she should be fine... But Miss Tornado really drank too much. She's so hard to take care of."
Outside the window, the night sky was pitch-black.
Bathed in the faint glow, Tornado flew unsteadily, ascending higher and higher. Looking around in confusion, she seemed unsure of where she wanted to go.
Just then, she spotted Feng Ye chasing after her from below. Her mind in disarray, she raised her tiny hand and declared, "I won't lose to you!"
A blast of psychokinetic energy shot towards Feng Ye.
Feng Ye waved his hand, dispersing the psychokinetic blast, and said with a twitch of his lips, "Hey, if you attack me again, I won't hold back."
Tornado paused for a moment as her jumbled memories slowly pieced themselves back together. She recalled that she wasn't dueling with Feng Ye but attending a banquet hosted by the Hero Association.
With this realization, Tornado stopped using her psychokinetic powers and flew unsteadily to Feng Ye's side. "Don't be mad... It was just a joke... Hic! Let's go back and drink some more... Hee hee hee..."
She reached out and grabbed Feng Ye's arm, and her psychokinetic powers surged once more, lifting them both into the air. However, instead of heading back to the hot spring hotel, they flew higher into the night sky.
With one hand, Tornado pulled on Feng Ye's arm, and the glowing aura enveloped them as they swiftly covered hundreds of meters in distance, reaching the clouds in the night sky. They plunged headlong into a fluffy cloud.
Feng Ye had intended to stop her, but as they soared into the sky, the cool breeze caressed his body. He tilted his head back to gaze at the starry night sky, speckled with twinkling stars, and a sense of contentment washed over him. So, he let go of his resistance and allowed Tornado's psychokinetic powers to pull him through the clouds.
Although it lacked the breathtaking beauty of Sky Island, the view from here was nonetheless captivating. The starry night sky above and the glittering city lights below created a unique and rare landscape.
Such a modern cityscape didn't exist in the world of One Piece.
"It would be nice if things could be a little more peaceful."
Feng Ye exhaled softly.
If only it were a world like One-Punch Man, with relatively milder rules, and a slice-of-life setting. Then, he could choose a more relaxed identity and enjoy life while waiting for the Ethereal Clock to unlock more abilities.
