Chapter 533: Revenge
“Boom!”
Another deafening explosion split the air.
Under Commander’s orders, over a dozen Steam Tanks fired in unison, their main cannons roaring as they obliterated a thousand demons in an instant, erasing them from the earth like dust swept by a storm. The demonic horde’s center split open with a massive, jagged gap.
The Iron Beast surged forward on a torrent of steam, its colossal iron ram plowing through the enemy ranks, smashing demons aside with brutal force. It charged forward like a living avalanche.
“Charge!”
“Counterattack Abyss!”
With a thunderous horn blast, the Empire unleashed seven divisions in a concentrated assault from the center. Over a hundred thousand Imperial Soldiers surged forward behind the Steam Tanks, launching a cone-shaped offensive that tore into the enemy lines.
“Boom!”
“Boom! Boom!”
Artillery roared, their fire supporting the advance of infantry and tanks. The Steam Tanks advanced relentlessly, their powerful Magitek Steam Howitzers targeting the most formidable foes—Giant Ox Demons and Hunter Spiders—annihilating them with pinpoint precision.
Infantry followed closely behind, providing cover fire and shielding the tanks from aerial and flanking threats. They unleashed withering volleys against Abyssal Drakes and Floating Monstrosities descending from the sky. The Empire’s coordinated infantry, tank, and artillery assault was already showing its might—and with the addition of supernatural forces, their offensive grew even fiercer.
Mages in the rear unleashed spell after spell. Fire, lightning, and radiant light lanced across the battlefield, weaving through the chaos and effortlessly incinerating demons.
The Ember Dragon Swarm, having seized air superiority, swooped down again and again from above, dropping devastating White Phosphorus shells that detonated with terrifying force. The sky burned with fire and fury.
Meanwhile, Dragon-Wardens’ Holy Knights advanced steadily, their presence as immovable as mobile fortresses, clearing the path of the Empire’s offensive by annihilating the most powerful demons in their way.
For a moment, the demonic ranks faltered—caught in a rout. The Abyssal Legion’s frontline collapsed, torn apart and exposed.
“Roar—!”
A massive Butcher Demon stood in the path of a Steam Tank, its scything limbs slashing through the tank’s armor like paper. But from afar, Imperial soldiers poured bullets into it—hundreds of rounds, like a storm of steel, clattering against its bony exoskeleton.
Then, arrows—enhanced with Armor-Piercing and Purification effects—flew in from the distant player lines, piercing deep into the demon’s flesh.
Fireballs, lightning bolts, and acid streams rained down upon it, bathing the creature in a maelstrom of magical energy.
“Where’s the spellcaster? Damage output, now! Cover the tank daddy!”
“Die, you giant bug!”
“For the Empire!”
“Roar!”
The Butcher Demon roared in fury, thrashing wildly against the tank, consumed by a bloodlust to destroy. But then—above, a single, piercing Dragon Roar split the sky.
“Roar—!”
Even the demon froze. The sheer, overwhelming presence of the dragon sent shivers through its body. It stood trembling, paralyzed.
From above, a dozen Crimson Scale Conquerors plunged down with unstoppable force. In the sheer kinetic energy of their dive, their root-like lance spines pierced through the demon’s armored shell, spearing through its torso and limbs.
At the head of the regiment, Alje soared through the air, his Everburning Greatsword slicing through the air. With a clean, brutal motion, he severed the demon’s head in one stroke. Flesh and bone parted with a wet, tearing sound.
“For the Empire!”
The Wyverns hovered in the sky, their voices echoing in a triumphant chorus. They now ruled the heavens.
The malformed Floating Monstrosities were helpless—dozens of true dragons were already hunting them down.
“Roar—!”
A white dragon, over twenty meters long, lunged onto an Abyssal Monster, clawing open its slimy, bloated body. Then, it unleashed a torrent of freezing frost from its maw. The creature shrieked in agony as half its body froze solid. It plummeted from the sky, crashing into the earth and shattering into countless frozen meat fragments.
“Moo—!”
A Giant Ox Demon stomped forward with heavy, thunderous steps. It seized a monolith from the ground and hurled it with terrifying force, crushing several Imperial soldiers beneath its impact.
“Watch out!”
“Meat shield! Quick!”
Facing the incoming swarm of Stellarfallers, the ox demon’s eyes flared red. Its nostrils flared, releasing a stench of hot, rancid breath. It lifted one massive hoof—and then brought it down with crushing force, driving the full weight of its body into the ground.
“Boom!”
The earth cracked. The ground trembled. Dozens of players were crushed beneath its hooves.
The beast charged forward on all fours, its hooves grinding against the soil like a massive bull, determined to crush everything in its path.
But before it stood not fragile mortals, as expected—but a wall of Dragon-Bound Holy Knights. They stood shoulder to shoulder, armored in heavy plate, holding massive greatshields, locked in a tight formation.
“Boom!”
The ox demon slammed into the line—yet not a single greatshield broke. Not a single knight staggered. Not a single cry of fear escaped their lips.
Intense heat from Flame Chains bound them together, distributing the impact across the entire formation. The dragon fire burned into the demon’s hide, scorching deep, blackened wounds into its flesh.
The demon stared in disbelief. Its tiny brain, barely larger than a walnut, struggled to comprehend. These seemingly human “mortal” creatures should have been crushed under its might, fleeing in terror. Why did they not fall? Why no fear?
Yet the Holy Knights looked up at it—golden eyes blazing with fire, their expressions alight with fierce anticipation.
“Kill!”
Anthony raised his greatshield, his voice cold and commanding. “Slain this demon! Place its head upon the altar. Blood sacrifice to the Dragon Lord!”
“Blood sacrifice to the Dragon Lord!”
“Kill it!”
The Holy Knights roared in unison, lifting their long spears and greatswords. The tide turned.
Surrounded from all sides, the Giant Ox Demon was pierced from multiple angles. The fiery tips of the spears tore through its hide, leaving deep wounds. From the rear, Paladins raised their longswords, summoning blazing fire from the sky. It descended upon the demon, wrapping around it, searing its flesh.
“Roar—!”
Within moments, the demon screamed in agony, thrashing wildly as blood poured from every wound.
“Become the Dragon Lord’s sacrificial offering—your final honor.”
Then Anthony leapt high into the air, hurling his spear. It pierced the demon’s chest—right through its beating, Abyssal-powered heart.
“Boom!”
The giant beast collapsed with a roar, its body cracking the earth, kicking up a storm of dust and debris.
Few in the Abyss had ever seen such a creature—its size made it a rare and prized siege weapon, a favored monster of Abyssal lords. But now, here in the chaos of war, it fell—crushed beneath the might of the Dragon-Bound Holy Knights.
“Good work, my brothers.”
Anthony stepped forward, surrounded by his Paladins. He drew his longsword and severed the demon’s massive head in one clean stroke.
The Holy Knights reached out in unison. A wild flame erupted around the head, consuming it completely—leaving not even ash behind. But the fire on the ground burned hotter than ever, and within the flames, a dragon-shaped phantom image roared in silent triumph.
The sacrifice was complete. The Dragon Lord had claimed it.
Now, on the back of a colossus the size of a hill, Leo—commander of the demons—watched the approaching Imperial army, his eyes fixed on the relentless storm of war.
His teeth ground together. His bloodshot eyes burned with uncontrollable rage.
“Again…
Again! These damned fools—can’t even destroy a few lowly mortals!”
The scene before him brought back the war of ten years ago—the one that had shattered everything he once was. His subordinates, like now, had believed in invincibility. The Empire had launched the same crushing artillery barrage, the same relentless, stalk-crushing offensive.
Only now, both sides were stronger.
“Damn it! Damned!”
“I have the power of the great Abyss! How can I lose to mere mortals?!”
Flames of fury erupted from Leo’s eyes. A terrifying aura of intimidation radiated outward, Chaos Power from the Abyss swirling violently in the air. Crimson-black fire erupted from the ground, incinerating dozens of unfortunate demons. All around, the demons trembled in fear.
“Leo-sama is angry!”
“Ha ha! They’ll pay!”
“Foolish mortals, daring to enrage such a demon!”
Whispers spread through the demonic ranks.
Leo Bosk—representative of Jelrazaks, known as the “Soul of Vengeance.” For years since his transformation into a demon, he had embodied the will of Jelrazaks. He had consumed millions of vile, corrupt souls in the Bottomless Abyss, amassing an unfathomable Abyssal Power. His strength had reached unprecedented heights. Rumor said that with the aid of a Revenant Demon, he could rival even the Abyssal Lords themselves.
“Boom!”
Leo leapt from the colossus’s back, crashing onto the ground, sending shockwaves through the earth.
“Kai Xiusu—”
He roared into the sky, voice raw with vengeance.
Scorching flames of wrath shot from his eyes. Purple-black veins bulged across his body. Fiery flames burned upon his form, sulfur smoke swirling around his spines. His monstrous silhouette grew larger, his bat-like wings spreading wider.
“I know you’re watching. You should feel fear. Honor.
Because—
I will tear apart your army. Destroy your empire. Erase everything you are.
Just as you did to me in the past!”
His roar, thunderous and overwhelming, drowned out the artillery. It shook the battlefield—every soul felt its echo.
“Who’s speaking?!”
“This is blasphemy!”
Anthony shouted in fury. The Dragon-Bound Holy Knights were enraged, their faith wounded as if struck.
“Holy hell… this kind of setup… is this the final boss?”
“Wait… his dialogue sounds familiar. Think back—could this be the old Lion of the Prison from the last version?”
Players whispered, some already piecing together the truth.
“He’s going to act!”
“No mortal can stand against an enraged commander!”
The demons laughed—hoarse, frenzied, eager.
All eyes—demons, humans, Tieflings, Great Goblins, Blue Dragons, Ogres—turned toward the source of the sound.
A figure emerged from the raging smoke and fire—nearly twenty meters tall, forged from blazing flame and living flesh. It was a nightmare made real.
Black curved horns crowned its skull. Its skin was a crimson red, like raw, exposed flesh stripped from a beast.
“Boom—”
It raised its massive arms. Its right hand wielded a flaming whip, crackling with fire. In its left, it held a Storm Greatsword, drawn from the chaos itself, crackling with lightning.
Its broad bat wings flared, stirring a searing wind. Flames erupted from its eyes—fiery, relentless, like the gaze of a god of destruction.
This was the Balor Fire Demon—the apex of the Abyss, the embodiment of annihilation and mass slaughter.
“Revenge—”
“Destruction—”
The demon roared again, then spread its wings and dove through the air, descending toward the fiercest point of the battle.
“Get back!”
“He’s coming!”
Imperial officers shouted warnings—but it was too late.
The Balor Fire Demon swung its Storm Greatsword. Thunderbolts crackled along its blade, the edge hidden in a storm of lightning. It slashed through the Imperial lines.
“Boom!”
“Boom! Boom!”
The thunderstorm tore across the battlefield, slicing through fragile bodies. Hundreds were vaporized in an instant.
The blade cleaved a Steam Tank in two. The tank exploded violently, killing dozens more nearby.
“Fear—”
The demon opened its bloody maw and roared again. With a flick of its flaming whip, it lashed out at the Imperial dragon beasts.
“Snap!”
The whip—tens of meters long—cracked through the air, tearing open a jagged red rift in space.
“Roar—!”
A chorus of dragon roars echoed as dozens of Earth-Crawling Dragonbeasts were struck. They collapsed, screaming, their bodies torn apart, their wounds still burning with Abyssal Chaos Fire.
Thunder and flame raged across the battlefield. Cracks split the earth. Scorching fire erupted from the fissures.
“See it?”
“This is the insignificance of mortals!
This is the might of the Abyss!”
The Balor Fire Demon roared from the sky, a grim reaper, harvesting life force with each breath.
