Chapter 531: S-Class Rank 6: Thunder God
Chapter 531: S-Class Rank 6: Thunder God
There were still some monsters left on Boros' spaceship who hadn't perished.
Those in the half of the ship that was thrown onto the moon were basically shaken to death, and the remaining half were taken care of by Genos as an afterthought during the transport process.
"In the end, all that's left is the task of moving things..."
"Damn it!"
"Do you take me for a mere laborer?!"
Genos, in a foul mood, instantly killed the remaining monsters in the spaceship, then kicked open the cabin door of the half-ship, leaping out from within.
"No, that's not it," Saitama said to Genos, who was flying away in the distance. "If we had let the ship crash, it would have destroyed half of City A. You did a great job, Genos."
The child emperor, busy inspecting the spaceship, spoke up. Suspended by six spider-like legs extending from his backpack, he clung to the ship's exterior while holding a miniature smart device that analyzed Boros' ship's performance.
"Hmph!"
Genos' irritation eased slightly at the child emperor's words, and with a huff, he turned away, swiftly flying off into the distance and out of sight.
Wiping the sweat from his forehead, the child emperor looked at the data on the device in his hand, his eyes still reflecting a hint of awe. "It's truly formidable..."
He hadn't realized the extent of its strength until he inspected it up close.
Only by carefully examining it could he confirm just how sturdy the metal of Boros' spaceship was. After all, this was a ship capable of traversing the universe, equipped with a warp engine. Its hardness far surpassed that of any metal or alloy currently existing on Earth.
Neither he nor Metal Knight was likely to have created an alloy harder than the metal used in Boros' spaceship, yet Feng Ye had cleaved the ship in two with a single strike!
Looking up again, he could still see the cloud sea splitting to either side, reaching the limits of his vision and continuing to slowly pull apart, leaving only a deep blue sky overhead.
...
Meanwhile, the many S-class heroes who had joined forces to address the crisis brought about by Boros' spaceship had also mostly ceased their activities.
With Boros and his ship dealt with, all that remained were some building damages, which could be handled by heroes ranked B-class and below.
"Sorry, that guy got away," Saitama said, his expressionless egg-shaped face turning toward the Hero Association staff.
He had sensed Boros' strong battle intent and hadn't considered the possibility of him fleeing. Moreover, Boros hadn't exactly fled; he had been pulled away by the God Tree, Payne. Saitama had been surprised at the time, so he hadn't stopped them immediately.
"I share the blame," Feng Ye said with an apologetic smile from a short distance away. "Since we took action, we should have finished it thoroughly. We shouldn't have stopped midway."
Bang stepped forward, trying to smooth things over. "Ah, these things happen... It's inevitable that we'll make mistakes sometimes. What's important is that we resolved this crisis, and with you two around, even if they return, we can stop them. Next time, we'll make sure to finish them all off!"
"Mhm."
The supervisor who had come out from the Hero Association headquarters nodded in agreement.
Without Feng Ye and Saitama, City A might have been destroyed by now, instead of being almost entirely intact with minimal casualties.
Furthermore, with their formidable strength, even if the enemies returned, they could still be driven away. The only issue was the God Tree's ability to create wormholes, as seen when it pulled Boros away—a troublesome power indeed. No wonder Saitama hadn't been able to finish off his opponent in space the last time; he had only managed to force their retreat.
"In any case, we appreciate your efforts in addressing this disaster. The Association is currently assessing the damage and your contributions..." Seitch, the supervisor, bowed slightly to Bang, Feng Ye, and the other S-class heroes. "After taking such a big hit, they probably won't be back anytime soon."
Metal Bat, having witnessed this exchange, hoisted his bat onto his shoulder and turned to leave. "Alright, now that it's over, let's call it a day. I need to head back and pick up my sister."
"I'll go with Sensei," Genos nodded.
Feng Ye smiled amiably. "I'm free as well. It would be my pleasure."
To be honest, he had a slight interest in Bang's technique, the Flowing Rock-Crushing Fist. It was a style unlike any other, like the Navy's Six Styles of Hard and Soft Fists. It focused on the subtleties of force exertion and was akin to the realm of a grand swordsman in the art of pugilism.
However, if he were to employ this fist style, it probably wouldn't be called the Flowing Rock-Crushing Fist anymore, but rather the Flowing Star-Crushing Fist. If he unleashed it with full power, he could probably lift the Earth and hurl it toward Mars.
Among the few Dragon-level threats and above in this world, if Boros represented the pinnacle of energy manipulation, then the fully evolved and limiter-broken Garou epitomized the apex of technique and physical prowess.
It was hard to gauge which of the two in their final forms was stronger, but Garou, with his mastery of extreme fist styles, fared slightly better against Saitama.
The clearest indication of this was that while Boros was turned into mincemeat by Saitama's one-handed consecutive normal punches, Garou could withstand Saitama's two-handed consecutive normal punches head-on. Though he was eventually knocked away, he didn't explode!
While waiting for God Tree Payne to complete the next stage of its transformation, it wouldn't hurt to take a look at techniques like the Flowing Rock-Crushing Fist.
...
A day later.
The Hero Association had compiled a report on the damage caused by the recent crisis.
Compared to the previous rampage of the Ten-Tails, which was also a Disaster-level God, the destruction caused by this Disaster-level God was incredibly minimal, even less than that of some Demon-level threats!
This was not to say that this Disaster-level God was any less formidable. The combat power Boros displayed was undoubtedly far beyond any Disaster-level Dragon-threat they had encountered thus far, and this crisis was indeed caused by a Disaster-level God!
The reason why the damage inflicted by this Disaster-level God was less than that of a Demon-level threat was due to the gathering of S-Class heroes and the overwhelming strength of Saitama and Feng Ye, the two S-Class heroes!
With a single strike, he destroyed the spaceship.
He unilaterally suppressed Boros.
Feng Ye demonstrated an almost overwhelming display of power during this disaster, becoming the second hero after Saitama capable of dealing with a Disaster-level God!
The name Thunder God resonated throughout the entire human world!
After this battle.
The hero rankings underwent some changes.
Checking the Hero Association's official website, one would see that the top five positions among the S-Class heroes remained unchanged. Their cumulative achievements were simply too great for any newcomers to surpass them with just one or two disasters.
However, scrolling down further, one would notice a new title that had jumped up the ranks.
S-Class Rank 6... Thunder God!
In terms of total achievements, Feng Ye didn't quite qualify for this position yet. However, after much deliberation and decision-making, the Hero Association decided to promote Feng Ye's ranking directly to sixth place among the S-Class heroes!
This massive leap in ranking sparked some controversy online, but these disputes were quickly drowned out by the flood of comments and barely lasted long.
For Feng Ye embodied the ideal image of a true hero, be it in appearance, strength, or the methods he employed. Coupled with the influence of the previous Sweet Mask incident—
With just this one battle.
Feng Ye's fan base had already grown to almost the combined total of all other S-Class heroes!
Any dissenting voices regarding Feng Ye's ranking were swiftly overwhelmed by the deluge of comments from his numerous fans, failing to make a ripple. Thus, this ranking was firmly established.
