Chapter 531: Jerry's Social Death (First Update)
Chapter 531: Jerry's Social Death (First Update)
"Brother, now it all depends on whether your looks can catch Witch Sister's eye!"
Aisha watched Witch Sister lower her head to look at the few candid photos she had taken of her brother when he wasn't paying attention, her heart filled with anticipation.
To be honest, she wasn't entirely without confidence in this mission. Her brother's good looks and physique were rare, and even her two best friends, Annie and Susan, had long been admiring him.
However, knowing the true nature of her two friends, she felt her brother deserved someone better.
Someone like her idol, Witch Sister.
Moreover, this was a win-win situation: not only would it bring happiness to her brother, but it would also keep her idol firmly by her side, thanks to her brother's good looks.
Perfect!
"When did you take these?"
Jerry looked at the photos: there was one of him sitting elegantly on the sofa, sipping coffee; another of him studying intently with a biology book; and one where he was half-naked, showcasing his perfect muscles while exercising.
Finally, there was even a photo of him in the bathroom, steamy and tantalizing, which left him speechless.
So, all this time, the thing Aisha had been trying to talk to him about was getting him to date himself?
"Oops, I need to use the restroom, sorry!"
Daisy, who knew Jerry's true identity, struggled to hold back her laughter and quickly ran to the bathroom, fearing she wouldn't be able to contain herself for a few more seconds.
"I have something to do, I'll head back to the meeting room!"
"Tony, I was just notified to go to the meeting room too, let's go together."
"Right, me too, training is over for today."
"I think I left something on the plane, I'll go get it."
Seeing Daisy about to leave, Steve, Coulson, Sam, and May also quickly found excuses and turned to leave.
Although they were professional agents trained not to show emotions, the current situation was too much for them to handle.
Just as they turned, a voice echoed in their minds simultaneously:
"Memory Erase!"
In an instant, the memories of those who knew Jerry's true identity were altered.
In their minds, Aisha had just given Jerry a gift, Daisy was going to the restroom to touch up her makeup, and the others had various reasons to leave.
So, after a brief pause, they each left the training room according to the excuses they had given.
Now, the training room was left with Jerry, the gagged Peter, and Aisha, whose eyes were full of hope.
"For now, let's leave it at that!"
Jerry breathed a sigh of relief internally.
The situation had been too embarrassing, and it was a good thing only a few people who knew his identity had seen it.
So, he used the Memory Erase and False Memory Charm to cover it up for now.
Although it was only a temporary fix, as the base had surveillance cameras, and Memory Erase wasn't a complete erasure—people could easily remember under certain stimuli—plus, there was still Aisha.
But at least it would prevent the incident from being exposed before he left.
Once he was gone, it would be out of sight, out of mind. They could laugh all they wanted after they found out.
Seeing everyone leave for various reasons, Aisha looked bewildered.
The silenced Peter, who couldn't speak, shrugged his shoulders beside her.
Under normal circumstances, they should have continued training for another hour before wrapping up.
"Cough, Aisha, I'll think about it!"
To prevent Aisha from feeling sad and to prepare for any potential future opportunities, Jerry hesitated and then slipped a few of his photos into his pocket.
Seeing Jerry put away the photos, Aisha's eyes lit up again, and she hurriedly took out a piece of paper and a pen:
"Witch Sister, what's your phone number? I'll write it down and have my brother call you. You can meet and get to know each other when you have time."
"Actually, just give me your brother's number, and I'll call him."
Jerry only had one number, and giving it out would expose him.
Aisha thought for a moment, quickly wrote down Jerry's phone number on the paper, and handed it to him:
"That works too!"
"By the way, I still need to go treat Professor Jane. We can talk next time."
Taking the phone number, Jerry used a Phantom Shift and vanished on the spot.
Aisha, feeling elated, murmured to herself:
"Awesome, I'll tell my brother when I get home. He'll be so happy!"
"I still have so much to say to Witch. I need to thank him for saving my life, and..."
Peter, who had been released from the silence spell by Aisha, watched Jerry disappear and complained to Aisha, looking somewhat dejected:
"I still have a lot to talk about with Witch. I need to thank him for saving my life, and..."
Seeing Aisha take out the mahjong tile with "Silence" written on it again, Peter immediately grabbed his backpack and ran off:
"Mr. Quill needs me for something. I'll go now!"
"Stay away from Witch Sister, she's my sister-in-law!"
Aisha waved her Magic Wand.
"I really put myself through this. Luckily, I altered their memories just now, or else if Tony and everyone else found out, I'd be the laughingstock!"
Jerry sighed, shaking his head, as he used Phantom Shift to arrive at the base's medical room.
"Jerry, you're here. I was just about to look for you. Jane fell asleep after drinking your potion. Is everything okay?"
Thor, who had been pacing around the medical room, rushed over to Jerry, looking anxious.
Jerry glanced at Jane, who was lying in bed with a noticeably paler complexion, and smiled:
"Don't worry, this is normal. She'll sleep for about three days and will be fully recovered when she wakes up."
"Thank goodness. Thank you so much, my good friend!"
Thor breathed a sigh of relief upon learning that Jane was fine.
Jerry patted Thor on the shoulder:
"Let's go to the meeting room. Tony seems to have something to tell us."
So, the two of them walked and talked as they headed toward the base's meeting room.
"Peter, why are you here?"
At the meeting room door, Jerry saw Peter coming out and felt a sudden sense of unease.
Seeing Jerry, Peter immediately became excited again:
"Witch, Mr. Thor, I came to see Mr. Quill. He said he would teach me some tips on getting along with my classmates."
"Did you talk about what happened in the training room?"
Jerry asked, probing for information.
Peter scratched his head, looking a bit confused:
"I talked a lot with Mr. Quill, and we did mention what happened just now. But he suddenly started laughing, and when I asked him why, he wouldn't say. Then he kicked me out and said he needed to share something interesting with others.
When I left the meeting room just now, it seemed like they were talking about checking the surveillance cameras or something."
