Chapter 527: Sirius and Lucius
Chapter 527: Sirius and Lucius
"Let me go! Let me go!" Bobby Suarez screamed in terror.
The crowd below laughed maliciously. "You really want us to let you go?"
As the ground grew farther and farther away, the man, hanging upside down and tumbling, felt both fear and panic. He wet himself, and then his stomach churned, and he vomited.
The masked wizards found his pitiful state hilarious, and some cast spells to twist Suarez into bizarre shapes. Others set nearby tents on fire, and still, others released a blinding green light that illuminated everything around them.
The ordinary wizards nearby screamed in terror and fled. Sirius, his anger boiling, immediately transformed back into human form and drew his wand, ready to intervene. But he suddenly heard a voice:
"Now!"
The deep voice echoed in the darkness, and in an instant, spells shot from all directions at the masked wizards. Numerous members of the Order of the Phoenix and Aurors materialized out of thin air, surrounding the masked wizards.
"Stupefy!"
"Stupefy!"
"Expelliarmus!"
Many of the masked wizards stiffened and fell to the ground, while others had their wands fly out of their hands, hitting their comrades in the face. Seeing this, they immediately ran for their lives.
"It's a trap!"
Someone screamed, their voice cracking. They tried to Apparate but spun in place three times before falling awkwardly, only to be trampled by their own allies.
Somewhere along the way, a wide-area Anti-Apparition Charm had been cast, preventing anyone from escaping.
Without the control of the masked wizards, Suarez screamed as he plummeted from the sky. Just before hitting the ground, his fall was slowed by a silver spell, which gently lowered him to safety.
Following the glow, they saw Dumbledore's tall figure. The elderly wizard's cold and furious expression struck fear into everyone.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A masked wizard retaliated wildly, but Dumbledore waved his wand, and the burning tent suddenly unfurled like a giant shield, protecting the Order of the Phoenix members. The Killing Curse shattered it into pieces.
"Stupefy!"
"Cruciatus Curse!"
Sirius leaped into the fray, joining the battle. Spells flew back and forth, and the masked wizards continued to flee while fighting back. One member of the Order of the Phoenix was hit by the Cruciatus Curse and fell to the ground, screaming in agony.
"Enough!"
Dumbledore roared, waving his wand. An invisible force instantly subdued all the masked wizards still trying to resist, and the battlefield quickly fell silent.
"Thank you, Dumbledore", Kingsley said, wiping blood from his face as he stepped forward. "You're under arrest. Get ready to spend the rest of your lives in Azkaban!"
He reached for the nearest masked wizard, ready to uncover who these people were.
Graham Goyle's eyes widened as he saw the hand approaching, and he instinctively turned to Lucius Malfoy for help.
Kingsley also turned his gaze, and when he saw the glowing strands of hair under the hood, his eyes flickered.
Even without removing the mask, Kingsley felt he already knew who this person was.
"Looks like we've caught a big fish!" Kingsley sneered. "This time, even the Imperius Curse won't save you!"
He left Graham Goyle without hesitation and strode toward Lucius Malfoy. Just then, a terrified scream echoed from nearby.
Kingsley turned alertly and saw a man shouting as he emerged from behind a tent, tripping and crawling away on all fours.
"Run!" he yelled. "The goblins are going mad!"
"What did you say?"
Arthur Weasley grabbed him, ready to ask more, but in the next second, dozens of goblins, their bodies enlarged, charged out with bloodshot eyes and bared fangs. They lunged at the crowd, their enlarged lanterns swinging like clubs, smashing into the people.
The frenzied goblins didn't target anyone specifically. Some used their sharp claws to slash at the Order of the Phoenix members' calves, others latched onto Death Eaters and gnawed at their ears, while many more simply grabbed people and hurled them into the air.
The Order of the Phoenix members had some ability to defend themselves, but most wizards were completely unprepared for the attack. They only screamed and ran, and many children had become separated from their parents.
"Quick, help them!"
Remus Lupin shouted, waving his wand. A red beam of light sent a goblin flying, saving a sobbing little boy.
Dumbledore was also forced to release his suppression on the masked wizards, waving his wand and unleashing a blinding light from the center of the camp.
"Go!"
Lucius Malfoy growled, and the group took the opportunity to break through the encirclement, fleeing in all directions.
By now, screams had echoed throughout the camp, with goblins attacking everywhere.
Lucius Malfoy ran swiftly, and after passing through several tents, he felt he had escaped the Anti-Apparition Charm. Just as he was about to Disapparate, a sudden tingling sensation ran down his spine, and he immediately ducked to one side!
A curse whizzed over his head, shattering a nearby pillar.
"Don't think you can run!" Sirius Black's furious roar echoed behind him, and a blinding red light shot from the tip of his wand.
Lucius cursed under his breath, casting a Shield Charm without turning around, then sped up.
He couldn't allow himself to be captured in this state. If he could just lose Sirius, he could discard his mask and cloak, blend in with the crowd, and even Dumbledore wouldn't be able to accuse him without evidence.
But Sirius pursued him like a true hunting hound, spells flying from behind in quick succession. Suddenly, an invisible blade tore through the air, leaving a deep gash on Lucius's shoulder.
He cried out in pain, nearly falling. Clutching his shoulder, Lucius fled, feeling Sirius's footsteps closing in, his entire back tingling with dread.
Suddenly, Lucius saw two Aurors from the Ministry of Magic dealing with a goblin ahead. He quickly pointed his wand at his throat and shouted in a voice entirely different from his own, "Help! Someone is trying to kill me!"
Sirius roared in anger, but the Aurors, unaware of the situation, saw the chase and one of them immediately aimed his wand at Sirius.
"Expelliarmus!"
Sirius rolled nimbly to avoid the red beam, which grazed his hair and struck a tree trunk. Malfoy took the opportunity to leap over a pile of firewood and run. Sirius, seeing the Auror about to attack him again, snarled, "Damn it! That guy is a Death Eater!"
"What?" The Auror was stunned, at a loss.
Sirius had no time to explain. He leaped over the Auror and resumed his pursuit, his gray eyes burning with a dangerous and determined fire that made the young Auror shrink back.
The two figures dashed into a forest beside the camp, spells flying, sparks exploding, and cloaks flapping in the cold wind.
"I know it's you, Malfoy!" Sirius shouted. "This time, you won't get away!"
Malfoy clenched his teeth, casting a Cruciatus Curse over his shoulder, stumbling to a tree. The pain from his wound grew worse, and his breathing under the mask became heavy.
Sirius tightly gripped his wand, swinging it forcefully. Several jets of fire ignited nearby bushes and dead branches, forcing Malfoy to jump out of his hiding place.
Just as Sirius was about to pounce, a spell struck him from behind.
He stared in shock at Lucius, his mouth opening and closing, but before he could speak, his body suddenly shrank, and in an instant, only a pile of robes remained on the ground.
Lucius Malfoy stood there, dumbfounded, unsure of what had happened. Then, he saw a squirrel dart out from under the pile of clothes, leap onto a tree, and vanish in a flash.
