Chapter 526: Don't Move, We're All on the Same Side!
Chapter 526: Don't Move, We're All on the Same Side!
Chapter 526: Don't Move, We're All on the Same Side!
Old Rosier, who had witnessed Ivan's Magic control, grew increasingly convinced that there was a possibility of deeper intent!
If the opponent could accurately predict and execute a powerful spell to cut his wand in half, there was no way it could have been an accident!
There must be some deeper meaning behind it!
Old Rosier couldn't help but draw a sharp breath. He never would have imagined that this young witches and wizards not only possessed formidable strength but also had such profound thoughts. If it weren't for the current situation, he wouldn't have considered this layer of meaning.
As the Pureblood Wizards continued to argue, the sounds of explosions and screams from outside grew closer and closer.
"Enough! Stop arguing. This isn't the time for that. We can argue later after we've dealt with the enemy!" A short and plump Witch interrupted the bickering. If they continued like this, they would start fighting among themselves before the enemy even arrived.
Fury and the others finally stopped, but they still looked at each other with distrust.
"You, go gather the remaining Wizards nearby. We'll break out from the exit!" Notte said, turning to the Auror who had just entered.
Since Asia had chosen to attack from three directions, it meant their forces were spread thin. By concentrating their numbers and breaking through in one direction, they still had a good chance of escaping.
The only thing that worried Notte was that their arguments had undoubtedly delayed their best chance of escape. Fortunately, this Underground Chamber was well-protected, and the enemy shouldn't be able to break in immediately.
Boom!!
Just as Notte was thinking this, a loud crash echoed from the front.
In the next second, the conference room door was smashed open, and a tall, thin Dark Wizard flew in, crashing into the Conference Table, unconscious or dead.
The seven people present were all startled and raised their wands, pointing them nervously at the door. Everyone knew that they could only fight to the death; otherwise, they would all be finished here.
In the dim, narrow corridor, a chilling commotion gradually grew louder, and then a writhing Giant Snake charged in. Its fearsome head was covered in wounds, and its body was pockmarked with burn marks.
The group's hearts sank, but their hands didn't stop. A series of spells were cast immediately.
"Confringo (Explosive Spell)!"
"Diffindo (Slicing Spell)!"
One spell after another struck the Giant Snake, worsening its injuries.
The Giant Snake struggled to squeeze into the conference room, but before it could open its mouth to attack, it was hit by a bright orange fireball and exploded.
Its flesh turned into a Block of Wood, and a large amount of debris rained down from the sky. However, before it touched the ground, it seemed to be guided by something and flew towards them.
A young voice rang out.
"Oppugno (Projectile Spell)!"
Notte and the others didn't have time to wonder why the voice sounded like a child's. They all waved their wands, using Protego and Shield Charm to defend against the second wave of attacks.
Hundreds of Block of Wood fragments flew at them like arrows, hitting the thin Magic Barrier with a series of sharp, grating sounds. Despite the intensity, the barrier held firm, protecting Notte and the others from harm.
However, Ivan’s target was not them but the Magic Lamps placed around the room. These had no protection and were shattered in mere seconds, plunging the previously well-lit meeting room into complete darkness.
The moment it turned dark, Notte inwardly cursed, already understanding what the other party intended to do.
“Lumos (Lighting Spell)! (Lumos)” Fury, who was nearby, hadn’t quite processed the situation and immediately waved his wand to cast Lumos Maxima for illumination.
But just as the dim Lumos light appeared at the tip of his wand, a red beam flew from behind and struck Fury, sending him flying.
“It’s Evers! He’s a spy!” Old Rosier’s voice rang out in the darkness.
Everyone present, relying on their memory, instinctively launched attacks at what they thought was Evers’s position. A rainbow of spell beams illuminated the dim meeting room, finding Evers’s bewildered face.
“It’s not me, it’s—” Evers knew he had been set up by Old Rosier and tried to defend himself. However, before he could finish his sentence, a barrage of spells hit him. The Protego charm on his body lasted less than a second before shattering, and he was blown away.
But Notte quickly realized he had attacked the wrong person. Even after Evers was hit, the internal ambush did not stop.
Old Rosier kept changing his position and casting spells, while Ivan outside occasionally cast a few more spells. Under the combined attacks, the few people trapped in the meeting room, already on edge, went completely mad, waving their wands and attacking everyone except themselves.
“Reducto! (Sectumsempra)”
“Stupefy! (Stupefy)”
Various spells flew around the spacious meeting room. Notte, the only one still thinking clearly, gave a bitter laugh. He knew he was finished.
If everyone had united to fight the external threat, there might have been a slim chance of escape. But with the situation deteriorating to this point, surviving without being killed by their own team was a tall order.
“Rochelle!” Notte clenched his teeth. By now, he had no doubt who the traitor was, but the chaos in the room was beyond his control.
Amidst the confusion, several tall werewolves charged in like tigers among sheep. Their excellent sense of smell meant the darkness only aided them, not hindered them.
Within a short dozen seconds, the chaotic meeting room became much quieter, with only moans and curses echoing.
“Reparo (Repairing Spell)! (Reparo)” Ivan slowly entered the meeting room, his wand flicking in the air, and a powerful wave of Magic covered the entire room.
Under the effect of Reparo, the fallen Magic Lamps slowly floated back to their original positions, and the holes in the walls, caused by the spells, began to mend.
Before long, the dark meeting room was bright again.
Ivan then saw the scene inside. Several Pureblood Wizards had been restrained by the Werewolves. Evers, the worst off, had been nearly beaten to death by his own team. His Wizard Robes were tattered, and he didn’t even have the strength to moan.
On the other side, Old Rosier was pushing against the two werewolves restraining him, struggling and shouting.
“Let go! You’ve got the wrong person! We’re all on the same side! On the same side!”
