Chapter 519: Boros Descends!
Chapter 519: Boros Descends!
"We don't know yet."
The Zombie Man, with his arms folded across his chest and leaning back in his chair, calmly replied, "I've been waiting here for two hours now. It must be a grave situation to have summoned all of us here."
As he spoke, his eyes swept across the conference room.
The last time all the S-class heroes had been gathered was half a month ago when the disaster-level threat, the Cyclops Emperor, attacked and was stopped by Bald Emperor Saitama.
[Come to think of it, there are quite a few new faces among the S-class heroes...]
Zombie Man muttered to himself as his eyes assessed Saitama, Genos, and Feng Ye. These three were unfamiliar to him, and this was his first time seeing them.
During the previous incident with the Cyclops monster, he had been occupied handling other matters and hadn't made it in time. By the time he arrived, it was all over.
Zombie Man first turned his attention to Saitama, who had stopped the god-level threat. He was one of the new S-class heroes that particularly piqued his interest.
"He doesn't look that strong... Just as the reports said, he possesses immense strength that belies his appearance."
"That Devil Modified Human over there seems to be of the same type as the Driven Knights."
"And that last one, called Thunder God... He gives me a dangerous vibe." Zombie Man's gaze toward Feng Ye carried a hint of wariness.
Unlike the other heroes, he was originally one of the Evolution House's test subjects, endowed with an immortal body and powerful regenerative abilities. Every cell in his body was essentially alive.
And now, as he faced Feng Ye, he felt as though every cell in his body was sending him a warning signal of danger.
As if sensing Zombie Man's stare, Feng Ye glanced in his direction, their eyes briefly locking. Feng Ye offered him a faint smile before shifting his gaze away.
It wasn't just Zombie Man; some of the other S-class heroes were also sizing up their peers. Child Emperor, for instance, was observing Saitama with curiosity and even struck up a friendly conversation with him.
Having fought against the Ten-Tails, he was well aware of its terrifying power and, by extension, the immense strength Saitama possessed. He held a great deal of respect for powerful individuals, and he was also intrigued by the modifications Saitama's body had undergone to achieve such might.
"Hey, what's the hold-up? Are we just going to be left hanging here? I ditched my little sister's important piano recital for this, so if it's not something important, I'll just destroy this headquarters, you jerks!"
The hero known as Metal Bat, sitting there with his legs propped up on the table, glared at the door and voiced his impatience.
Tornado of Terror let out a soft hmph. "And you think a mere stick like you could do that?"
A few veins popped up on Metal Bat's forehead as he glared at Tornado. "What did you say, curly-haired freak?! You want me to split that mop of yours open?!"
"Go ahead and try if you've got the guts, you watermelon-headed jerk!" Tornado shot back.
Seeing the bickering between Metal Bat and Tornado, Bang sighed in exasperation, covering his face with his hand. "Why are there so many problematic children among the S-class heroes?"
Just as the commotion in the conference room reached a peak, the door finally opened, and a Hero Association executive entered, accompanied by two staff members.
"Thank you for your patience, everyone," the executive, Sitch, said as he stepped into the room. "We have been unable to reach either Blast or Metal Knight so far, but we will commence the emergency meeting. I must inform you of a grave situation, so please brace yourselves."
With a somber tone, Sitch quickly relayed the news of the Great Prophet Shibabawa's death and presented her final prophecy, which she had written before her demise.
"Uh-oh, looks like Earth is in trouble!" Child Emperor remarked, glancing at the hastily scribbled note while holding a lollipop. "Is this why you called us all here?"
Within the next six months, another potential God-level threat.
The news cast a brief pall of gloom over the conference room, with only Saitama and Feng Ye appearing unfazed, their expressions relaxed and unworried.
"Not knowing the exact time frame is problematic," said Superalloy Darkshine, spreading his hands helplessly. "Six months is too long a span. We can't maintain maximum alertness for that long."
As the atmosphere grew heavy, Feng Ye, who was sitting across from Tornado, suddenly spoke up, "I think you don't need to worry about the timing."
Everyone in the room turned to look at Feng Ye, who then pointed upward and said, "Because it's already here."
After a brief pause, Zombie Man and the others' expressions changed, and they looked up, but all they could see was the conference room ceiling; their eyes couldn't pierce through to see the sky outside.
Feng Ye stood up and walked towards the door, saying calmly, "It's time for action."
With that, he disappeared beyond the door, leaving the room.
Sitch, the Hero Association executive, was momentarily taken aback but didn't try to stop Feng Ye. After a moment, he quickly tapped the light screen on the table.
Whoosh!
An image appeared on the light screen, projecting the scene above the Hero Association headquarters. There, a massive, dark starship could be seen approaching the skies over A-City!
For a brief moment, the conference room fell silent, then the heroes sprang into action. Metal Bat stood up, gripping his bat. "Perfect timing, you bastards. I was just looking for something to smash to pieces!"
"..."
Drive Knight remained silent and headed for the door.
Bang also stood, saying, "We have a slight advantage. It's good that we're all here. Let's go take a look."
Following Bang's lead, Atomic Samurai and the others also made their way out.
Sitch gazed at the screen, took a deep breath, and said, "Quickly notify the master control room to analyze the ship's data and provide useful information to the S-class heroes as soon as possible!"
"Yes, sir!"
The two staff members responded and rushed out of the conference room.
Despite having almost all the S-class heroes present, Sitch's expression remained tense and worried.
He stared at the massive dark ship on the screen, his brow furrowed with concern. The presence of almost all the S-class heroes also meant that if they failed to stop this crisis here, the earth would likely be doomed!
They had to succeed in averting this disaster!
